While camping at the KOA outside Connellsville we stumbled on to this restaurant. Since we are very active with running, biking, and hiking. We always look for healthy alternatives to eat when we don't feel like cooking. Kickstand Kitchen is awesome! Right off the bike trail, in town. When first entering it's super clean and nicely decorated. The owners and staff are great and very accommodating. The menu has something for everyone from delicious sandwiches to incredible salads! We actually ate here twice. Both times the food was super fresh and tasted delicious! Step away from subpar small town pizza and fast food and give this place a try! I was passing through Connellsville on the way to another destination, and I needed a place to eat lunch. I found Kickstand online. When I showed up, the business had a "closed" sign in front, so my husband almost drove away. I, however, did not want to give up, so I called the business, and an employee answered and told me that she just forgot to flip over the sign. We went inside, and the employee greeted us with a perky hello. We looked at their menu, and then we ordered food and bottled beverages. The food was brought out to our table in about 22 minutes. Neither the employee nor another customer who briefly showed up wore a face mask during the pandemic. I had preferred to eat outside in my car, but the food was a little messy, and we could socially distance at our table anyway. My pulled-pork sandwich had a tasty bun, pork, onions, slaw, and BBQ sauce. My hard-to-please husband seemed to enjoy his Cuban sandwich, which contained ham, pork, swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard. A good OK/"not bad" is a compliment from him! The french fries tasted wonderful. The employee later asked if we needed anything. The prices were reasonable. The interior of the business was stylish with its garage door and its cute tables and chairs. The men's and women's bathrooms were nicely decorated and were clean. Parking appeared to be limited to a few parking spots on the street. Overall, I felt surprised that a restaurant of this high quality was located in Connellsville, a town of which I had not previously heard. I recommend that passersby try out the food. Other menu items include soups, salads, build-your-own sandwiches, and various seasonal plates and sides. read more

The environment in the area is comforting and chill, they have couches and seating of all sorts. The menu is for almost everyone with many different options while still managing to sort of stick to a general theme. The only problem I would ever have with this restraunt os that it was a little hard to find at first when driving by, and the food takes time to cook, but that is with just about every restaurant on earth. read more

On a cross-country road trip and spent the night in Connelsville. We know about small towns and were not expecting to see vegetables that had never seen the inside of a can or a deep fryer. But we found Kickstand Kitchen and were pleasantly surprised! We had the caprese salad, the Cesar salad with chicken, and grilled veggies on the side. Everything was great. I unfortunately didn't think of this until after I left, but I would recommend to the owners that they provide a way for customers to fill up their water bottles. read more

Seven of us + one dog piled into the kickstand Monday 40 mins before closing. They we're very hospitable and friendly even though we had a big group close to closing time. Chase, our dog, was nicely greeted on the back patio with a large refreshing bowl of water on this 86° day! Everyone was satisfied with their meals which included the veggie wraps, caprese sandwich and the hunky meal. Tater tots, fries and pickles for sides we're delicious! Really enjoyed this little place! We stopped on a Wednesday night in March and had the place to ourselves. The atmosphere was cool and laid back, and everything was really clean. Very friendly workers and excellent food. In our group we had the Caprese sandwich, roasted Brussel sprouts, the Rachel, sweet potato fries, regular fries, a custom built sandwich on a pretzel bun, and tator tots, and nothing disappointed. Would definitely visit again, and I would imagine it's perfect for bikers on the Greater Allegheny Passage stopping for a meal. read more

We stopped on a bike ride from West Newton. The restaurant was wonderful. My husband had the chili and said it was fabulous. I had a roast beef sandwich that was really good and I had the grilled vegetables as a side. We would definitely recommend. This was easily the best meal that we had on The GAP Trail. These are very nice people. It is vegetarian-friendly, which rare in western PA and even has food that is not fried, which is even rarer. They are a block off the trail, one can sit inside or outside, and they cheerfully refill water bottles with cold water. read more
