Tomato bisque soup and turkey sandwich combo.
    Murray W.

Definitely a step above most museum cafeterias, the Fallingwater Cafe has a nice view of the foliage around the tour plaza and a mix of sandwiches, soups and salads for your pre- or -post-tour fueling. My girlfriend and I had a bite here as we had a drive back to Pittsburgh to look forward to and we wanted to not have to wait to eat until we got back to out hotel and then downtown for our targets that night. I went with the soup and half sandwich combo, choosing the tomato bisque and the turkey sandwich. The bisque smelled fantastic walking by other diners, and it lived up to that. It was hearty and well seasoned, and tasted almost exactly like a lasagna. Win! The turkey sandwich wasn't quite so great. While it had lots of moist, tender turkey, it was noticeably lacking in other toppings other than a few lonely pieces of baby spinach, and could have used more to have a broader flavour profile. I also highly suggest the Jarritos sodas they have there, my Mandarin one was great.

After the marvel that was falling water, this was a nice, university cafe style place that we went to for lunch. Since I go to a university, there was no novelty in this and portion sizes were smaller than I am used to. The portions though- they were great! I had a portobello goat cheese sandwich, and my friend got the day's soup which was a bean, cabbage, onion soup with pork. They were really good but I am glad I got the pumpkin pie and he had to go back for seconds on the soup. This place fits in with the other things in the visitor center of fallingwater, like the museum and gift shop. It was fun to eat there. The price of the items was not over the top! And given that there is nothing else around that area for miles and miles, this was a good place to be stranded in.

Couldn't get a ticket to Fallingwater so we went to Kentucky Knob instead for a tour. Came here just for cafe because I remembered it having fresh choices at a reasonable price in lovely surroundings! Not disappointed

Not a bad place to eat, a bit pricey tho. And seeing as how it was the only place for miles, it's convenient.

Great food and I know it goes towards the house but $25.00 for half a toasted cheese and cup of soap was a little pricey.

Very long wait for very expensive and not very good meatloaf sandwich. Disappointing given the excellently run tours.

We got the signature breakfast sandwich, a turkey sandwich, and a chili hot dog for our brunch. Also you get a 5% discount for paying in cash. In addition to the turkey sandwich ($8.5) we decided to add a drink and side to make it a combo ($13). However, I l was very disappointed at the apple slices which is why docked an extra star. The apple slices were tiny and super soggy. On top of that, I'm not even sure if the fruit was washed. I was hoping the darker color stuff on the surface was a scratch or something, but I was literally scratching dirt off. This felt pretty unsanitary and I kind of lost my appetite. The turkey sandwich was also very small, so probably plan to order more if you need to eat more to get full. It's probably best to skip the side and drink combo and rather order another item off the menu in lieu of the side/drink. To be honest, the sandwich isn't really worth the price for its small size. The signature breakfast sandwich was pretty interesting since instead of bread, they use a glazed donut around the eggs, sausage, and cheese. It's a mix of sweet and salty, so it may or may not suit your tastebuds. The food here was decent but nothing memorable so 3.5/5. I guess I'll round up my overall 2.5/5 rating (after taking into account the dirty apples) though.

I asked a couple questions about the menu and was immediately directed to the BLT by a woman in the kitchen. Wow I wasn't disappointed. It was sooooo good. The bread was toasted perfectly (so it didn't kill the roof of my mouth), the tomato's and lettuce were fresh, the bacon crispy, and that basil mayo. A life changing BLT if there is such a thing. A couple side notes I appreciate. Bittersweet's marketing team deserves. Ton of credit - they have some awesome swag available for purchase. I had the Bittersweet chicken salad sandwich and we shared a peanut butter mousse dessert, both were great!

The outdoor patio is beautiful but quite a few ants, nats, and mosquitoes. Menu is full of great options. Everything tasted wonderful; the mushroom soup is a well known staple around the region. The burrata pita bread was a little soggy, but tasted great. The smash burger had good flavor combinations but was definitely not a smash burger as the patties were full thickness. I would call it more a double bacon cheeseburger and it arrived overcooked, but the peppercorn aioli was a nice touch. The salmon salad had perfectly prepared salmon and I loved the dressing. In the future I think I would omit the tomato and cucumber because there were so many ingredients I feel it took away from the dish. The wedge salad special was great. Very blue cheese forward but I enjoyed it. Would be even better with some smoked bacon on top. The salmon dinner was well prepared, fresh and the presentation was on point. All in all, I would definitely come back and give this place another try. Also, with some fine tuning this cafe will be well above par for this area.

We were promptly greeted and asked if we needed assistance. We indicated not yet, but that we might get a sandwich. We incorrectly believed you could get a variety of sandwiches. More inquiries followed and instead of looking around we were shown what food they had available in the fridge area. We got three pepperoni logs and an italian wavie, which is a whole loaf of Cellone's bread The pepperoni logs were under proofed, under filled, and lacking flavor. We even tried removing some of the bread to see if that improved the roll. Despite our efforts, it unfortunately did not. The accompanying sauce also lacked flavor. Perhaps we had a difference experience than others, because the logs were far from the best pepperoni roll we ever had, even just within town!
