I decided to try their fish sandwich and fries. Believe me, when they state 'some say we invited it here', they were not lying. It had incredible flavor with the batter and the fish was cooked perfectly--flaky, tender and moist. Greasiness was non-existent. Roll was grilled with a slight crunch when bit into. I may be mistaken, but their tartar sauce seemed to be house-made as well. Just the right amount of tangy and sweet, with bits of carrot and pickle. Incredibly delicious. The fries threw me for a loop, wasn't expecting cottage fries, but I loved them. Some were incredibly crispy and crunchy, almost akin to a chip. Some were cut thicker and had a similar feel to steak fries, but so much better. All in all incredibly delicious food. Will definitely be back to check out their other food in addition to their coffee and espresso options. One final thing I love, is the bio-degradable takeout containers. No need for anymore products that will just sit in a landfill for our descendants to worry about.

I'm a strict vegetarian who eats some seafood. The coffee is excellent. I got the French press. Loved it. And I had a plate of food at the time and loved it too. Can't wait to go back. It is a bit pricey, but it's worth it be because of the quality and care that is given. I'm always looking for really good coffee - not weak- and this passed the test.

This is an order at the counter and then be seated type of establishment. You can choose from gourmet grilled cheese, a soup of the day, a frittata or soup of the day and several healthy salad options. We ordered and our food it was brought to our table within a few minutes.! Fresh lemon water was offered and filled when empty. I pre-ordered a dessert, a white chocolate raspberry tart, and we absolutely loved it! The cafe is nicely decorated with artwork and there is a section of Free Trade wares for sale in the entry area. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. High quality foods served by a very nice staff member in a pleasant atmosphere. Try it next time you are in Ligonier for a shopping day.

The burrata pita bread was a little soggy, but tasted great. The smash burger had good flavor combinations but was definitely not a smash burger as the patties were full thickness. I would call it more a double bacon cheeseburger and it arrived overcooked, but the peppercorn aioli was a nice touch. The salmon salad had perfectly prepared salmon and I loved the dressing. In the future I think I would omit the tomato and cucumber because there were so many ingredients I feel it took away from the dish. The wedge salad special was great. Very blue cheese forward but I enjoyed it. Would be even better with some smoked bacon on top. The salmon dinner was well prepared, fresh and the presentation was on point. All in all, I would definitely come back and give this place another try. Also, with some fine tuning this cafe will be well above par for this area.

A couple side notes I appreciate. Bittersweet's marketing team deserves. Ton of credit - they have some awesome swag available for purchase. Also, this is a Christian oriented cafe with bible verses, messaging, and music. Love it! And finally, check out the story about Bittersweet's roots, its commitment to addiction recovery/support, and the owner's son's story/passing. Servers were friendly and hospitable. The only downside is waiting in line to order and then waiting for your food. This is probably not the place to come when you have a time crunch, but if you can eat a leisurely meal, come on!
