Love this spot for breakfast! It has a great vibe, a solid menu with plenty of options, and seriously good coffee. Plus, they have a full bar, so you can pair your pancakes with a Bloody Mary or mimosa if you're in the mood. The specials are always really tasty, but I do have some faves on the menu too. My personal favorites are the Greensburg Scramble the frittata your way. The only downside is the wine selection -- it's pretty underwhelming, and the sparkling wine by the glass isn't great, so I usually skip it. If they upgraded that, it would easily be a five-star experience. Service is always top-notch; we feel well taken care of every time we visit. And bonus, there's plenty of parking, which makes getting in and out super easy. read more

We shared the fried plantain. It was 'okay'. We shared the chips and guacamole. Stiff guacamole served in a small stainless steel condiment cup led to a lot of broken chips. As the place won't allow for à la carte ordering of tacos, we both ordered the shrimp tacos. These are inedible. The mango salsa is too sweet and without heat and ladled in flour tortillas without a slotted spoon leading to a dripping mess. The frozen small shrimp are without seasoning and their rum sour cream is poured so heavy on top. If you want a dessert taco that does not taste of shrimp this is for you, but not for us. Loved the atmosphere of this place. Some great art on the walls and the staff were friendly and professional. We arrived around 11:15 and were seated right away. They do have a bar with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and they also have coffee with alcoholic options as well. I went with a nice warm mocha and it was delicious! They do have a nice menu that has both breakfast, lunch, salads and starters. I decided to go with the Poke Bowl - this bowl is at Market Price, so on this particular day it was $18. It came with jasmine rice, ahi tuna, ginger, cucumbers, seaweed salad, and a wasabi sauce. It was delicious! I do wish the jasmine rice was warm and the tuna was a bigger serving, but overall the flavors were amazing and loved every bite of it! Carne Asada Tacos So, growing up I was raised with skirt steak being cut into thin cuts and marinated in cilantro lime and other ingredients. Here, we establish a chopped steak which stretches your ability to have a generous portion of protein with you two tortillas. I loved it, and would only critique it by giving one more tortilla for those who request it, but loved the concept of feta with the steak and beans. Absolutely will come back! Right now, I would say this is the best bite in Westmoreland County. 8.9/10 Chips and Salsa I would say the potion is appropriate for any human being, but I kind of wish they gave us a little more given we shared them. Loved the fluffy guacamole and you guys have done a great job using fresh ingredients. 6.4/10 I would say, if you are splitting hairs on a place to eat. We've been here twice. First time was great, no complaints. Second time was underwhelming. It wasn't overly busy, but the food took a long time to come out. When the food did come out, it was cold. Very obvious that it was just sitting on the pass for a while before the waitress picked it up. I ordered avocado toast with eggs. Even though Greensburg's food scene is changing for the better, it is still a landscape of chain restaurants and unremarkable establishments serving American fare to appeal to the desires of a bygone generation. But now places like SunDawg are changing that reality. SunDawg has a creative menu. On one hand they have the charm of a diner, serving smart breakfast options with more gluten free options than a Manhattan eatery. On the other hand it is a cool dinner spot with craft beer, wine and other spirits. I'm impressed. This is definitely in my rotation for solid restaurants. Um yum! We were in Greensburg for a wedding and wanted to find a unique brunch place the morning of. Found this place on Yelp which had good reviews and unique, Latin-inspired menu. There's no street parking in front but seemingly lots of street parking all around and we found a spot in a covered lot one block over that's free on weekends. We ordered at the counter and quickly found a nice table for 2 by the window. Food was served promptly, which I'm always appreciative of. I got the Cowboy and my husband got Huevos Ranchero. Both were fresh and delicious. We shared a side of plantains which my husband thought were too sweet so I finished them :). They also had a nice spread of freshly made donuts: glazed, rose, mango vanilla, PBJ, and Smores. So of course we got back in line and got a mango donut and a Thai iced tea. The tea could've been a bit sweeter. I don't think we'll ever find ourselves in Greensburg again, but if we do, we'll probably come back and try the tacos that everyone raves about! read more

What a unique and delicious dinner experience! Since my husband and I rarely dine out for breakfast and lunch, I never really considered eating at Sun Dawg. When we recently heard that they have dinner service a few nights a week, that they offer byob, AND when everyone was raving about the dinner menu, we knew we had to try it for ourselves. The interior is bigger than I realized. The front half has a cafe feel, while the back half has a bar for seating surrounding its open kitchen, as well as a handful of high top tables. When I say open kitchen, I truly mean open. You get to see every meal being prepared, start to finish. And it's a real delight. Each dish looked mouthwatering, and the chefs clearly took pride in their work. We enjoyed asking the chefs about their ingredients and dishes as we took in the view. Our server was also polished and helpful- so it felt like the entire staff of the restaurant was dedicated to giving us a memorable experience. Our food was delicious! Of the two appetizers that we tried, the cauliflower was a standout surprise. Tempura battered, tossed in an amazing Asian sauce and topped with a fresh cucumber slaw, it incorporated so many elements of flavor that worked together perfectly. My husband enjoyed the burger with candied bacon and white cheddar, while I ate the delicious shrimp pad Thai. We can't wait to return. The menu isn't huge, but from everything that we tried (and saw), we know that we can order with confidence because they are a top notch dining establishment. We have not been here in a while...for a few reasons I am not sure that we can even remember...and we totally regretted that this past weekend when we stopped in for breakfast. The food was awesome...we both got the breakfast tacos (one with chorizo and one with sausage), the hashbrowns to share, coffee, and of course a donut. It was busy so we grabbed a table in the back. Our food came out quickly. For those who have not been here you order at the front and are given a number and once the order is up they bring your food to the table. Everything tasted great! We sat and enjoyed our coffee and chatted a bit. There is very little customer service/interaction with the staff (except for when you place your order and they place the food on your table...which is not overall friendly and thinking back was part of the initial reason why we took a break from having this on our regular rotation) but if your ok with that....the food is great! They are now open Thursday and Friday nights too for dinner and the restaurant is byob. If you are in the Greensburg area, you should definitely check them out!! read more

What a fun and unexpected spot in the heart of downtown Old Greensburg. I've tried in recent years to add at least one new biz stop with each quick visit to see family and this round it was Sun Dawg Cafe (conveniently a few doors down from the White Rabbit Cafe which is also adorable). It was the photos of rum raisin French toast and espresso based drinks (using local coffee beans!) that lured us in. Plus, it's always way more fun to support a local business. The Sun Dawg Cafe is cheery and spacious with a front and back section of seating. They offer cappuccinos, lates, hot chocolate and fresh pressed made in house juices. The rum raisin French toast is as delicious as it sounds. We also enjoyed the build your own breakfast bowl with guacamole, seasoned tofu, rice, scrambled eggs, quinoa, beans and pick de gallo.
