It certainly seemed to be freshly made and not frozen. I ordered fries on the side in addition to Cole slaw. The slaw was nice and creamy. While I generally don't like battered fries, these were pretty tasty. The only slight negative was the cost. At almost $30 for my sandwich plus a beer, it seemed a little pricey to me. Cornbread was soggy on the bottom and hard on the top. Mac and cheese was okay but not amazing. The entire meal felt like a strange combination of store bought sides/toppings and home cooked things. If they focused on fresher ingredients I think it would be a game changer. The concept is cool but it wasn't fully actualized. The people were 5 stars though. Very friendly and kind. We got food relatively quickly. You can eat in the restaurant but most people got their food to go while we were there. I think if I had gotten a sandwich instead, I may have had a different experience. The rice bowl with brisket was my choice because it was a crowd favorite but it just may not be for me.
