Open faced pot roast with fries

Good food and good service! We sat in the outside bar area and had the perfect weather for it. It had a tiki vibe with plenty of tv's to watch during the big sport's events. This place seemed like a locals favorite. Our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout our time there. I ordered the special which was an open faced pot roast with fries. It was delicious and very filling. I would definitely come back!

Bud Murphy's is a very popular place in Connersville. I was here on several occasions and I'd say it pretty much fits the definition of being a dive bar with a lot of beer-guzzling and a good number of not all that sober loudmouths. But what annoyed me is that there is an outside area in which smoking is permitted, but the smoke finds its way into the inside bar and dining area. But what is good about the place is that their mixed drinks are of a good pour and reasonably priced. They have a rather extensive reasonably priced menu. I had their wings done Buffalo style and served with celery and a blue cheese salad dressing. They were good enough but the wings were exceptionally small. I also had their Blue Cheese Burger which I ordered rare but came well done. Then also a small "Hazel" pizza done with bacon, onion, and green pepper. It was OK and for $12.50 decently priced. I'd go 3 stars but for the divey atmosphere can only go two.

My friends and I came for dinner around 8:30PM. This was my first time here and I found it interesting that we had to find our own table. We walked through the restaurant to find available seating. Since it was busy, it did take longer than usual to receive our food. However, our waitress was great. She came and took our orders right away. She made sure to check in and provide refills on our drinks. There was a $2 special for margaritas. I ordered the watermelon margarita but I was disappointed because it tasted like grapefruit. My friends also ordered the same drink and said it tasted like strawberry or medicine. When we ordered our second rounds, the drinks actually tasted like watermelon. But the inconsistency of the flavor of the drinks were disappointing. Everyone ordered different items. I had the "THE PITTSBURGHER" ...$7.95 Philly Steak Fries, Vinegar Slaw Piled High on Italian Bread. The steak had no flavor, thankfully the vinegar slaw helped it a bit. Fries tasted cold. I ordered onion rings and I'm happy they came out hot and fresh. My friend ordered the chicken basket and they said they didn't have any and there was no pizza. Lots of items weren't available and our waitress said they shouldn't even be on the menu. Overall, it was your typical bar food. Nothing exceptional but it hit the spot. Free parking available.

Great food and great service, our barmaid Desiree was awesome. Nice atmosphere and loads of great pictures, memorabilia, and historical advertisements . A lot of choices on the menu and the Prices and fantastic!!!!

Raw pizza

I ordered a pizza for pick up, once I got home and grabbed a slice, I realized it wasn't cooked the dough was still raw.

Beer Menu

Happened to be visiting from Los Angeles, CA & this place has a great space. The variety of beers they have is incredible. Already miss this spot. The staff are so chill like they kinda vibe with everyone. Just wish they had more hot sauce.

The Italian Oven - Pizza Fries (Not Freys any more) - Still amazing

The Italian Oven

I would rename this The Beeth Oven after the fabulous Bill and Ted movie, because this was like…read morestepping back in time, but in a totally excellent way. The Most Triumphant dish? The Pizza Fries. These fried dough "egg rolls" contain pepperoni and cheese and are served with a most excellent red dipping sauce. They used to be called Pizza Fryes which was a take on the Historical Dude Founder's name. The Wedding Soup was also a favorite. It was loaded with meatballs and all the other goodness wedding soup has. I had a bowl because I knew it would be good. The pizza wasn't my favorite, but I was already kinda full from the other stuff too, so it didn't get a fair chance. I was kinda bummed they didn't use pasta as a straw. So much fun drinking that way. Love the extra carbs, but I can understand why they went with regular straws. They still serve soda pop in mason jars though. Be Excellent to Each Other! And enjoy your trip to The Italian Oven.

Decided to try the Italian Oven in Connelsville. What a treat. Looks small from outside but, is…read morebigger inside. We had a wonderful server, Kate who was friendly and patient with us for our first time visit. She brought our beverages and checked back as we looked over the menu and specials. We settled on a crab and shrimp linguine and chicken Asiago. Looking around, there was a familiar feeling to the restaurant. The checkered black & white and red detailing. We also noticed many diners seemed to have a good relationship with servers. This gave us a feeling of comfort knowing diners obviously were happy at this restaurant. Our dinners started with a salad or cup of soup. Once our dinners arrived we knew we were in trouble because there was a lot in each bowl. Please come hungry. Both dinners were very tasty. We'd recommend this restaurant.
