Bud's has been a popular place for many years. It's a mainstay in Connellsville. I've only had pizza here before and found it to be decent. That's what most people seem to go there for. For the review I was there solo and didn't want a pizza, as it would be too much food for just me. The place looks the same inside as it did when I was a little kid. The bar is huge and I chose to sit there since it was just me. The bartender was friendly and running all over to serve folks and grab food for them as well. Today I decided to try their boneless wings and a hot sausage sandwich. The boneless wings were very reasonably priced which is the pro. The con was that the sauce I chose was called Buzzy, which I was told is very popular was a greasy, gross mess. As such I did not enjoy the wings. Then my sandwich came, it was not what I expected. It too was very reasonably priced. When I ordered hot sausage, i must have missed the description on the menu. Out came a hamburger style roll with a sausage patty on it with a little sauce on top with a sprinkling of diced green pepper chunks. The sausage was somewhat overcooked, but had a nice spice to it. The roll was somewhat stale tasting. Will I go back again, probably, but I'll do like most other people and get pizza.

Good food and good service! We sat in the outside bar area and had the perfect weather for it. It had a tiki vibe with plenty of tv's to watch during the big sport's events. This place seemed like a locals favorite. Our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout our time there. I ordered the special which was an open faced pot roast with fries. It was delicious and very filling. I would definitely come back!

Bud Murphy's is a very popular place in Connersville. I was here on several occasions and I'd say it pretty much fits the definition of being a dive bar with a lot of beer-guzzling and a good number of not all that sober loudmouths. But what annoyed me is that there is an outside area in which smoking is permitted, but the smoke finds its way into the inside bar and dining area. But what is good about the place is that their mixed drinks are of a good pour and reasonably priced. They have a rather extensive reasonably priced menu. I had their wings done Buffalo style and served with celery and a blue cheese salad dressing. They were good enough but the wings were exceptionally small. I also had their Blue Cheese Burger which I ordered rare but came well done. Then also a small "Hazel" pizza done with bacon, onion, and green pepper. It was OK and for $12.50 decently priced. I'd go 3 stars but for the divey atmosphere can only go two.

My friends and I came for dinner around 8:30PM. This was my first time here and I found it interesting that we had to find our own table. We walked through the restaurant to find available seating. Since it was busy, it did take longer than usual to receive our food. However, our waitress was great. She came and took our orders right away. She made sure to check in and provide refills on our drinks. There was a $2 special for margaritas. I ordered the watermelon margarita but I was disappointed because it tasted like grapefruit. My friends also ordered the same drink and said it tasted like strawberry or medicine. When we ordered our second rounds, the drinks actually tasted like watermelon. But the inconsistency of the flavor of the drinks were disappointing. Everyone ordered different items. I had the "THE PITTSBURGHER" ...$7.95 Philly Steak Fries, Vinegar Slaw Piled High on Italian Bread. The steak had no flavor, thankfully the vinegar slaw helped it a bit. Fries tasted cold. I ordered onion rings and I'm happy they came out hot and fresh. My friend ordered the chicken basket and they said they didn't have any and there was no pizza. Lots of items weren't available and our waitress said they shouldn't even be on the menu. Overall, it was your typical bar food. Nothing exceptional but it hit the spot. Free parking available.

Great food and great service, our barmaid Desiree was awesome. Nice atmosphere and loads of great pictures, memorabilia, and historical advertisements . A lot of choices on the menu and the Prices and fantastic!!!!

    Raw pizza

I ordered a pizza for pick up, once I got home and grabbed a slice, I realized it wasn't cooked the dough was still raw.

It was the best place I ate on my weeklong trip in August, and it was once again the best place I ate on my ski trip this past weekend. A lot of pubs have burgers, fries, a few sandwiches, that sort of thing. It gets repetitive. O'Donnell's has that, but really knocks it out of the park with their main courses. You get the pub atmosphere, and good hearty food, but so much more variety than most places, and it's all delicious. Perhaps most impressive of all, they rotate in a variety of specials, and those are really good too. Their kitchen staff is versatile and skilled. The first time I went, I had a grouper special, with rice and vegetables, all cooked really nicely, not dry at all, and well flavored. Dessert was chocolate Guiness cake with Bailey's frosting, which was as good as it sounds. A few days later, I got the blackened chicken alfredo. Although not quite as gobsmackingly impressive as what I had the first time, it was still a really solid pasta dish. Five months later, I was back, and went with another special, the Berkshire pork chop, with homemade mashed potatoes as the side. Both were really good, but the mashed potatoes - best I've had in years. And carrot cake for dessert - not quite as unique as the Guiness cake, but another really good dessert. It also has a great atmosphere to dine in and really good service. Allison was working at least the first and third times I was there, still remembered me five months later, and was just as good at taking a phone-in order this weekend as the in-person ones earlier. They have their regulars who go there for the food and service, but also make newcomers welcome. Excellent staff. People around town recognize their food too. On Saturday, they were closing a bit early due to the snow, so I took my takeout up to Yough River Brewing (which welcomes outside food). At one point a man asked if my food was from O'Donnell's, and I said that it is, and a few minutes later I'm talking with his friend, the mayor, who loves O'Donnell's as well. And no wonder! This would be on my regular rotation if I lived nearby.

The restaurant wasn't busy, I went to the counter and was told they didn't have sherbet. This surprised and disappointed me, I didn't actually want ice cream but ordered a mint chocolate chip cone, my favorite. For the price of what I was given, somebody needs to be arrested for highway robbery. $3.17 for this pathetic little single scoop cone, and compared to the ice cream I've scooped over the years this was NOT a full scoop. But this is what they laughingly sell for $3.17. Had I known I could have gone next door to Dollar General, paid a little more and bought a full carton. Their freezer temperature was obviously too low, this ice cream (what there was of it) was so soft I had to eat it faster than normal, wasted my money and did not enjoy it at all. I won't be coming back, ever. Friendly servers though.

It was loaded with meatballs and all the other goodness wedding soup has. I had a bowl because I knew it would be good. The pizza wasn't my favorite, but I was already kinda full from the other stuff too, so it didn't get a fair chance. I was kinda bummed they didn't use pasta as a straw.
