Food is excellent and good variety, not just typical bar food menu. Staff is very friendly. Fair prices and good atmosphere for families.

Our waitress Kendall was wonderful, being very helpful in making our decisions of drinks and dinner. Good GF options (my wife) and a good selection of liquors at the bar (including a small but solid selection of bourbons). The food was very tasty, but I found my pot roast a bit lacking in quantity. My wife's filet was a nice cut and done perfectly, thanks to Kendall's suggestion, and my m-i-l had the crab cakes and found them delicious. The ambience is relaxing and nice, but I do suggest they get better seats - hard wood is not the most comfortable selection at such a nice restaurant. Looking forward to returning, and definitely in the Spring, as the establishment turns open air in addition to the wrap around dining area that faces the river.

When I asked the hotel clerk where she recommended I could get dinner, she pointed to this place. Rebel that I was, I didn't follow her advice and went instead to a middling sushi spot further down the street. On the bitterly cold walk back to the hotel, I decided to stop in. Sitting at the cocktail bar, the place was quite crowded, and unfortunately they were counting down to their trivia night. Even though I was an undefeated Silver Screen Trivial Pursuit champion in my youth, I took a pass on the contest. Instead I had the $11 Espresso Martini, a mix of vodka, coffee liqueur, and cold brew in a can (Photo 6). It was basically what I wanted for a nightcap. As I took my last gulp, the trivia started. It was the best place I ate on my weeklong trip in August, and it was once again the best place I ate on my ski trip this past weekend. A lot of pubs have burgers, fries, a few sandwiches, that sort of thing. It gets repetitive. O'Donnell's has that, but really knocks it out of the park with their main courses. You get the pub atmosphere, and good hearty food, but so much more variety than most places, and it's all delicious. Perhaps most impressive of all, they rotate in a variety of specials, and those are really good too. Their kitchen staff is versatile and skilled. The first time I went, I had a grouper special, with rice and vegetables, all cooked really nicely, not dry at all, and well flavored. Dessert was chocolate Guiness cake with Bailey's frosting, which was as good as it sounds. A few days later, I got the blackened chicken alfredo. Although not quite as gobsmackingly impressive as what I had the first time, it was still a really solid pasta dish. Five months later, I was back, and went with another special, the Berkshire pork chop, with homemade mashed potatoes as the side. Both were really good, but the mashed potatoes - best I've had in years. And carrot cake for dessert - not quite as unique as the Guiness cake, but another really good dessert. It also has a great atmosphere to dine in and really good service. Allison was working at least the first and third times I was there, still remembered me five months later, and was just as good at taking a phone-in order this weekend as the in-person ones earlier. They have their regulars who go there for the food and service, but also make newcomers welcome. Excellent staff. People around town recognize their food too. On Saturday, they were closing a bit early due to the snow, so I took my takeout up to Yough River Brewing (which welcomes outside food). At one point a man asked if my food was from O'Donnell's, and I said that it is, and a few minutes later I'm talking with his friend, the mayor, who loves O'Donnell's as well. And no wonder! This would be on my regular rotation if I lived nearby.

When we arrived (party of three), my husband and I ordered a small pizza and 12 wings, and our friend ordered a pot roast sandwich with wings. It took about 15 minutes just for someone to take our drink order. Our waitress explained there was a delay due to staff singing happy birthday, which we understood. After placing our food order, we waited another 20 minutes. Eventually, the kitchen brought out both orders of wings and the pot roast sandwich--but no pizza. When our waitress checked on us, we mentioned the missing pizza, and she explained it comes from a separate line and would be out later. That was fine, but no effort was made to check on it or follow up. We nearly finished all of our food, and still no pizza. Our waitress then returned with boxes and the check, asking if we needed anything else. At that point, I again mentioned the missing pizza. She rolled her eyes and repeated that it comes from a different line. By then, we were already done eating and no longer wanted it. What followed was extremely unprofessional. After we declined the pizza, she stormed off, removed it from the bill, then came back holding the pizza, dropped the check on the table, and said, "Well here it is--you don't want it?!" She then offered the pizza to a nearby table in an irritated tone. When I said I would be mentioning this in my review, she responded, "I don't know why you're so mad, I did nothing wrong." When I tried to calmly explain the situation from a customer perspective, she interrupted, put her hand up toward me, and said, "Whatever, I don't care, you're nasty." She then continued speaking negatively about us to coworkers within earshot. This was one of the most unprofessional dining experiences I've ever had. There was no apology at any point, no accountability, and no basic courtesy such as thanking us or acknowledging us when we left. The food was okay, but the service completely overshadowed the experience.

We first stopped a couple of months ago and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, so we've been going there about once a week since then, usually for pancakes but the last few times we've tried lunch fare, today I had a a bowl of cheesy chicken tortilla soup and half a grilled cheese sandwich, I also had the hands down best, ( made with real chocolate ice cream), chocolate milk shake I've ever had . The restaurant wasn't busy, I went to the counter and was told they didn't have sherbet. This surprised and disappointed me, I didn't actually want ice cream but ordered a mint chocolate chip cone, my favorite. For the price of what I was given, somebody needs to be arrested for highway robbery. $3.17 for this pathetic little single scoop cone, and compared to the ice cream I've scooped over the years this was NOT a full scoop. But this is what they laughingly sell for $3.17. Had I known I could have gone next door to Dollar General, paid a little more and bought a full carton. Their freezer temperature was obviously too low, this ice cream (what there was of it) was so soft I had to eat it faster than normal, wasted my money and did not enjoy it at all. I won't be coming back, ever. Friendly servers though.

Very nice inside and a significant amount of staff working. DQ ice cream is not my go-to, I'd much rather other options but we do stop here now and again. Until my most recent trip, I have never had a problem and the food was always up to par with other Dairy Queen locations I have visited. On this visit, I went on my own to the location to pick up some ice cream for the family. I ordered the four Blizzards and took them home. When my fiance opened his up, his Cookie Dough Blizzard was overwhelmingly chocolate, with far too much fudge added. He does not like chocolate, so I went back. In the process of getting it fixed, the Assistant Manager came out to speak to me (I missed her name, but the employees all had incorrect name tags on anyway, e.g. a male employee with the name tag "Chelsea" and vice versa). She explained to me, in the tone one uses with a 5-year-old and in front of a large audience of other customers, that that was how they had always made them but "just this time" she would fix it for me. Not only did she lie to me (as we have never had this issue before in the dozens of times we have gotten this very same ice cream) but she also spoke to me in a demeaning tone of voice while I was just trying to get my fiance's ice cream as he had ordered and gotten it so many times before. I have never been treated so poorly by an employee at any establishment. It is very unlikely that I will revisit this location at any time in the future, which is disappointing because of the proximity to his home.
