Saw pasta on the menu, saw filet on the menu - wanted both so I asked for it. A meal I really enjoyed with friends before heading out for the night. Everything came out hot and service was good! Definitely want to check out in summertime!

The Rivers Edge Restaurant is a newly opened restaurant build on the West bank of the Youghioghney River, in Connellsville Pa. I went with a party of four the other evening. Although we didn't have a reservation we were seated immediately, the server was very attentive and friendly. I had the grilled Cajun Maui sandwich, my wife had the Bruschetta chicken, another member of the group had the Reuben, all the food was delicious. My only complaint is the tables were a little close to each other, which made it difficult to carry on a conversation. They do have a deck out the back over the river, which I imagine would be a great place to have a meal when the weather is a little better. Give it a try.

"Award winning cheddar burger." Pretty good.

The food was classically American. A little pricey, but good portion sizes. Got nachos, a burger, salad, and fries for the table. All were good and made well. The service was overtaxed--not enough staff on the floor--so we didn't see our server very often and ended up going without water and a napkin that we needed. That also explains why there were so many open tables but a significant wait too.

Vodka Pasta

I've been here twice and ordered pasta both times absolutely phenomenal. The dishes come out looking professional and taste just as amazing. A little on the pricey side, but worth it for the quality. Plus, the view is great and they even have heaters for the outdoor seating.

The food was very tasty, but I found my pot roast a bit lacking in quantity.

It was the best place I ate on my weeklong trip in August, and it was once again the best place I ate on my ski trip this past weekend. A lot of pubs have burgers, fries, a few sandwiches, that sort of thing. It gets repetitive. O'Donnell's has that, but really knocks it out of the park with their main courses. You get the pub atmosphere, and good hearty food, but so much more variety than most places, and it's all delicious. Perhaps most impressive of all, they rotate in a variety of specials, and those are really good too. Their kitchen staff is versatile and skilled. The first time I went, I had a grouper special, with rice and vegetables, all cooked really nicely, not dry at all, and well flavored. Dessert was chocolate Guiness cake with Bailey's frosting, which was as good as it sounds. A few days later, I got the blackened chicken alfredo. Although not quite as gobsmackingly impressive as what I had the first time, it was still a really solid pasta dish. Five months later, I was back, and went with another special, the Berkshire pork chop, with homemade mashed potatoes as the side. Both were really good, but the mashed potatoes - best I've had in years. And carrot cake for dessert - not quite as unique as the Guiness cake, but another really good dessert. It also has a great atmosphere to dine in and really good service. Allison was working at least the first and third times I was there, still remembered me five months later, and was just as good at taking a phone-in order this weekend as the in-person ones earlier. They have their regulars who go there for the food and service, but also make newcomers welcome. Excellent staff. People around town recognize their food too. On Saturday, they were closing a bit early due to the snow, so I took my takeout up to Yough River Brewing (which welcomes outside food). At one point a man asked if my food was from O'Donnell's, and I said that it is, and a few minutes later I'm talking with his friend, the mayor, who loves O'Donnell's as well. And no wonder! This would be on my regular rotation if I lived nearby.

The drive is beautiful, especially on a sunny day in the fall. The leaves are incredible. As you're driving winding roads along Wills Creek, Hillbilly Haven pops out of nowhere. You'll see plenty of pick-up trucks, four-wheelers and side-by-sides. What you get: is an absolutely quintessential dark, country, dive bar. Beloved by locals, they have pool tables, a small live music and dance area inside and a really nice outside area in the back. You'll meet some of the nicest people. Just remember-it is a local country bar and when in Rome... Here's the big draw-oh my goodness, the food! People come from miles away to get take-out. The wings are perfectly seasoned no matter the sauce/rub, juicy but crisp. The Hillbilly Deluxe burger puts a Big Mac to shame. The smoked meats are done on site by people who really know what they're doing. If you're looking for a Saturday or Sunday road trip on a pretty day and some terrific food, find Hillbilly Haven. Grab a beer and enjoy the country. ATV recommended but not required. This update from my friend April- "

My partner was in the restroom so went after us to get his drink, he ordered, she asked for his id, just like everyone else. He then gave it to her and she took it then proceeded to take it into the back, COMPLETELY bent it in half and CREASE it. He didn't say anything he doesn't care to argue about it. But I do:)) So I went and asked if she bent it she lied and told me no, to which I corrected her and told her we know she did (his id is brand new and it says it on there). Her reason is "PA IDs don't bend" I said i understand but this isn't a Pa id and informed her of the 3 main ways to know it is real also told her to make a google search. She refused to check it again and said she didn't need to serve him. (Which I know is true) At the end of the day you do not do this to someone's GOVERNMENT documents‍ mind u the owner was right there the whole time and both of them tried to tell me no one bent it and grab it out of my hands I was showing them. I also did crease my friends PA ID‍
