There are two areas to eat - the more formal dining rooms or the laid back pub area. We chose a booth in the bar area and the bartender was our server. He was great and helped us with our choices! The espresso martini was on point. We both loved the shrimp appetizer - I'd get that again. I got the Stone House salad and the server did explain that it was served Pittsburgh style, with French fries on top. I appreciated him ensuring I was OK with that. I had to try it but might avoid the salad fries next time! This is a great spot with historic decor, good vibes, and delicious food.

I've ate here a few times and it has been absolutely amazing every time. The mediocre rating shocked me. This is the best restaurant around this Laurel Highlands region IMO. I always get the chicken milanese and it's perfect. Their house made salad dressings are also great, I usually get the red wine and parm vinaigrette. Bar drinks and service have also been stellar. Perfect dinner spot!

Fantastic food, excellent service, historic ambiance. Had early dinner here on Saturday around 5ish. Since we didn't have a reservation, we had to sit in the tavern section, which worked out perfectly. It's a little darker and more casual. Service was prompt and friendly. The food was really, really good. They give you a bread basket, and the oil/balsamic dipping sauce is my new obsession. Partner had a NY strip with shrimp, mashed potatoes and a vegetable medley - all seasoned and cooked perfectly. I had the meatball sub, which was one of the best I've ever had. Meatballs were perfectly seasoned and tender, good sauce, good bread, could have used a bit more cheese, but I think that about everything. Good beer selection. Can't wait to go again.

We came here after rafting with White Water Adventures at Ohiopyle. We had a group of 18 and were celebrating for my brother's bachelor party. The service was outstanding. Our server really took care of us, even though he was mostly by himself and we had a huge group. We started out with drinks. The group ordered a mix of beers and several of us ordered Old Fashioneds. I personally, had the blueberry Old Fashioned. It was fantastic. On to food. The menu is a nice mix. You can get a sandwich or burger for around $15-20 or a nice steak for up to $50. I did not love my meal, but this is mostly on me. I ordered Seafood Pasta. It was fine, but it was drowning in butter. Again, I should have followed suite with the majority of our group and grabbed a steak. The place is really old and historic. I was a fan of the whole experience.

My wife and I have recently moved to the Morgantown area. After months of exploring the city and the surrounding area, we've found no restaurants that rate better than a 6 or 7 out of 10. Today that changed. While we were out in the Laurel Highlands, we stumbled across the Stone House restaurant and loved it. First, the food was terrific. Generous portions and super well put together. We got the Chicken Marsala and a Greek Salad for dinner and the blackened shrimp for an appetizer. They were all among some of the best food I've ever had anywhere. The service was also excellent. Our waitress couldn't have been kinder and more helpful the whole evening. Finally, the ambiance was legit--straight out of the 1820s when the restaurant was founded as a way-station for folks moving west. Highly recommend. Will definitely go back.

My prime rib was so tender I could have cut it with a butter knife. They don't skimp on serving sizes. My 1 meal turned into two more with leftovers. We'll definitely go back!

The Historic Stone House Restaurant is a hidden gem in Farmington, Pennsylvania. The restaurant is located in a beautifully restored 18th-century stone house and inn and the atmosphere is very warm and inviting. The historic setting of the restaurant is charming and unique. The menu was straightforward and the food was fresh and delicious. The service overall was very attentive and had a full knowledge of the menu. My steak was cooked to perfection. The cocktails were just the right amount of boozy. The peach cobbler cheesecake was rich, fruity and decadent. I would highly recommend dinner here, especially for a celebratory dinner or while traveling. It's a great place to indulge and enjoy some delicious food in a unique setting.

The food was FANTASTIC & the service was EXCELLENT! The autumnal decor was absolutely beautiful. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed!

I'm not sure how I've lived here most of my life, and haven't ever eaten at the Stone House. I have been here for countless weddings, showers, etc. but never for a sit down dinner. This weekend we stopped in for dinner, and the food was great. I ordered the fettuccini Alfredo, and added mushrooms. My husband ordered the lasagna, which was massive! The menu selection is huge, and the restaurant itself is beautiful, and extremely old home located right on historic route 40. Our waitress, Kamber, was very nice and attentive. We will be back!

When you walk in, there is a dining area to the right and a coffee shop with pastries to the left. Though we had to wait a bit for a table, we enjoyed looking at the yummy treats in the case as everything looked fabulous. Sunday is brunch so both breakfast and lunch menus were available. My daughter got a burger and Caesar salad, my husband got an omelette, and I got some onion rings and free rein to eat off their plates. Everything was delicious but the onion rings were a standout! It reminded me of a blooming onion in the best way! The strawberry jelly for the toast was also among the best I've ever had, and clearly made in house as it tasted so fresh. Our server was very pleasant but things moved a little slowly and we had to ask multiple times for our side of dressing. I was also shocked to see that a cup of coffee was $5! Overall though, this place was a delight and I wish I would have saved room for dessert.

Very rustic ambience, quite affordable price tag, great problem-solving waitress! Stuff I saw but can't review: THEY HAVE A CHEESECAKE BAR. They have a cheesecake and a cake of the day. It's probably a straight 4.5 star, I'm giving it a 5 based on my experience. But it should really settle as a 4.5 once the whiny people show up. I ordered the country fried steak with a side of coleslaw and potato salad. They accidentally brought a baked potato instead, but quickly corrected it and told me to enjoy the free baked potato. :). I liked this entree a lot! My oldest ordered pork nachos for dinner and they were HUGE. My wife got a pork sandwich and she loved it. Youngest got a kid meal and he ate it all. Best thing was their beer prices. They had 3 buck domestic beers which included, everything domestic. Meaning, I drank some awesome micro-brews that would have been 8-9 bucks anywhere else, for 3. Service was great. They have an ice cream shop inside. I strongly recommend this business if you are in the area or are in Ohiopyle. We visited because the only sit down in Ohiopyle was closed on Wednesday. Not a bad drive. Great food, great beer, great service. Enjoy!

We stopped in on a rainy evening, and the hot tea and dessert were the absolute highlights--comforting, warm, and exactly what we needed. The atmosphere is clean, welcoming, and clearly run by a team that cares. The hostess and staff were thoughtful, checking in just the right amount, and our server was attentive and kind. The food overall has potential, but a few dishes could use a little boost: The French onion soup was just okay--not bad, but not memorable either. The starter salad and seafood pasta were both fine, but didn't quite hit the mark. A small but impactful fix? Serve the bread warm--it would make a big difference. That said, the bones are there. The team is working hard, and you can tell they have the right ideas. With a few tweaks to the menu, this place could really shine. I truly hope Mae's sticks around and continues to grow--it's a lovely little gem with a lot of heart.

The crab cakes were good as well as Mae's salad, however 2 edible items on the entire buffet disgraceful. Do not recommend. Our server was also wonderful and honestly one of the highlights of the night. That said, the food experience was a bit disappointing, especially for the price point. The Miyabi Maki sounded amazing on paper with lobster, wagyu, and caviar, but the caviar tasted overly fishy and didn't seem very fresh. The octopus was dry, and some of the dishes felt too rice-heavy, including the sushi and even the amuse-bouche. The sea bass was probably our favorite dish flavor-wise, although the rice underneath seemed undercooked. Service timing was also quite slow -- we were there for over two hours despite the restaurant not being busy, and it took almost 50 minutes for the first course to arrive. Again don't think it's the server's fault but when the food was available Overall, we really wanted to love this place and are hoping it may have just been an off night, because the setting and hospitality definitely have a lot of potential.

The food was just insanely delicious and the service was amazing. I mean ending the night with that candy cart is just genius. It's pretty low cost for the restaurant but such a fun photo opp and nostalgic box to take home. This was probably the most expensive meal I've ever had, so I'm also really glad it was the best. Starting with the bread service the olive oil, honey, and butter were amazing. It was hard to restrain myself from eating a ton of it. The corn custard, scallops, and pierogi were delicious, but that wagyu beef, so freaking delicious. It came with a steak sauce where you mix the quail egg into it. Yum! It was just the best beef dish I have ever had. I can say enough good things about it. The kombucha pallet cleanser was also adorable before dessert. They think so much about the fun and whimsy of the presentation here, it just makes it that much more memorable. The posset for dessert, (their signature dessert) was beautiful and delicious as well. The wine pairing was spot on and I enjoyed every glass. The champagne tasting they also offer was pretty tempting, but also a bit more pricey than what I needed to tack on to an already expensive bill. My only complaint was the $10 small cup of coffee. Like they could have at least left the pot on the table. It just felt a little overkill to me when you already are spending $350 on the meal, maybe include the coffee. The singer was also a lovely touch to the meal. She had a beautiful voice and could sing everything from pop songs to opera. Super impressive!
