    Chillean sea bass

The food was amazing! We had charcoal Oysters, ahi tuna and lobster shumai. Everything was delicious. For main course we had Chilean sea bass and Veal stank and was very flavorful and the presentation was gorgeous. The service is exceptional! And they made our visit unique and an amazing experience!

"Absolutely EXCELLENT!! As vice president of DC Foodies, I highly recommend Aqueous!! Every dish was extremely flavorful, creative, and made my mouth dance. The Amish bread with honey butter & apple butter, yummy broccoli ceaser salad, perfect salmon w/ fried rice, sea bass taste like butter, and dessert literally exploding in your mouth (seriously - ask for it) was great. Amazing service -- Carol was exceptional -- made us feel like celebrities, so warm, we felt like family visiting her home. Run, don't walk to Aqueous! DC Foodies APPROVED! EXCEPTIONAL!

The food was terrific but our server, Carol, really helped make the dining experience more enjoyable. I look forward to returning at some point in the not too distant future.

    Chilean Sea Bass with lentils

Everything was prepared to perfection and the service was extraordinary. Chef Jeff hit it out of the park with the Chilean sea bass and the seared scallops. Absolutely amazing experience.....thank you to all the staff who delivered an evening to be remembered and savored.

Breakfast is a must do! The service was spectacular. Kate and her team were on top of everything. We had mimosas with mango puree, coffee, bread and goat cheese plate. Then we moved on to the main course. I had the classic, eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. My husband had the special surf and turf omlet and the avocado toast. My meal was perfectly prepared and came with a tasty garnish of arugula in a bright vinaigrette. The omlet had huge chunks of lobster and was topped with perfectly cooked flank steak. The avocado toast had three jumbo shrimp on top. All was quite delicious! We were stuffed at the end of this meal!

Ahi tuna and Caesar Salad. The Ahi tuna is an appetizer but my friend had it as a meal and could barely finish it.

I highly recommend eating at this restaurant while staying at Nemacolin Resorts. We had dinner and breakfast there and both were amazing! Customer service is top notch and so is the food!! Don't miss out on this! I'm just sad today was our last day there and we just discovered it last evening or we would have been eating dinner there again tonight! Both meals we were surprised with a a little something extra. For dinner they gave us a piece of sushi that was so good, I would have ordered it had it been on the menu. They also gave us a chocolate truffle at the end of the meal, both complimentary. A perfect end to an amazing meal. For breakfast, we got a warm blueberry doughnut circle nestled in a creamy lemon icing. The ambience also stellar. I can't wait for another trip!

The most magnificent Lobster Bisque and Lobster Mousse croissant that I have ever had!!

We came to Nemacolin as a late Valentine's Day weekend and had dinner our second night at Aqueous. As usual, they did not disappoint. The Lobster Bisque was the best I have ever had. The croissant was the icing on the cake for me!! Hubby had the Octopus salad and it was actually incredible. They delivered the octopus on hot coal rocks which made it crispy not rubbery. For dinner we had both catches of the day- Walleye and Baked Cod. I was so excited to dig in, that I forgot photos. They were both excellent, but I especially enjoyed the potato crust on the walleye, For dessert we shared the pineapple cheesecake and my husband courageously ate the marigold flower on the plate.HINT- he said I stayed just like it smelled . Incredible dinner as always and would have to say that everything from service to dessert was top notch!

Jamison our sever was so sweet and was very vested in our enjoying the meal. Hendren (spelling) was always there and worked so good with Jamison. The manger Bertram was so kind and invested in our service and enjoyment of the food. Most of all the food was AMAZING!!! The lobster bisque was literally EPIC and the best we ever had. Clams were out of this world!!! Halibut was so tasty and prepared to our specific request!! The salmon chef taster provided was so awesome....loved the pickled jalapeño which just totally boosted the flavor experience. The chef stopped by he was so nice and proud of his work. Such a wonderful dinner!!! With a great view.

    Milk and Honey Dessert

I wasnt impressed by their menu due to lack diversity. There wasn't much to chose from and a lot of it had the same theme - spicy. We got lobster bisque (forgot to take a picture) and shared the seafood tower. The seafood tower can easily feed 4 people. We were so full and sick by the end of the night. Everything on the tower was good. The lobster was a little tough when chewed. The bisque was delicious! The milk and honey dessert was top 3 best desserts that I have ever had in my life. Highly recommend it. Wait staff was good and attentive. The atmosphere was calm and enjoyable for all the kids that were running around.

Realizing I never reviewed this restaurant, and I just recently labeled this as my favorite stop of 2019 overall. I was skeptical to make a reservation as last minute as I did. However, a Saturday night at dinner time was open and ready for us to be seated coming from about an hour away. It was a perfect fall day that topped off with a sunset where we were seated, in what felt like the top of PA, to watch. I appreciated the style, cleanliness and large capacity of the restaurant. I also enjoyed the fresh single rose in a vase. I remember loving the bathroom, the fresh towels, the fountain outside, the other areas in the building to lounge, the automated shades, and the bar along with decorated flower vases and greenery and valet. I remember not feeling so heavily stuffed even though we did eat a lot. I like doing many small courses. Every part of the dinner was great. Complimentary crackers and spread, wine suggestions, dinner specials, dessert options and of course our starters. I had a great view, and - like I said - There was a sunset, too.

Took my wife here to celebrate her 50th birthday. Nice ambiance with great view of golf course, but service and food no where near justify the price point. While the food was good it certainly was not $650 for a party of two - good. MP for seafood tower was $185 which admittedly surprised our already lofty exceptions. While each course was "good" nothing was unique, noteworthy, or great. I understand when at Nemacolon you have to accept this reality, but from a restaurant perspective certainly not worth it IMHO.

Stopped here having no idea this place even existed other than the Italian restaurant and the steak joint. Either way, it is located more on the golf side of things where the pro shop is. Glad I had navigation Bc i would have been lost with the grounds being vast. I would say one main problem is that there is no signage for it out on the road way or even once you get on the grounds to let you know you're going the right way. Complimentary valet service and a beautiful indoor area with seating as well as a lobby bar and outdoor fountains overlooking the course. We had reservations and I know that this place smells like money but overall being tended to by 5 people for water, meals, drinks, refills, food, extra items etc is a little much. Ordered a bourbon honey bee mixed drink which was garnished with a orange peel and was very good. We each had a salad with mine being a traditional variety mixed and tossed with poppyseed dressing. I wanted to order a steak (yes I know it's mainly seafood) but the only real option was a 20oz ribeye. So I went with the salmon that came with gold potatoes, some type of mash underneath and broccoli stalks. The salmon was over cooked - though they said it would be served medium. However- it's not a big deal. Had to get dessert which I went with the bananas foster pudding. It was good - presentation was nice. Also added a cup of coffee which may be the best I have ever had, got a refill and paid. Salmon was disappointing but the drink, wine, food, and dessert lean it more towards 5 than 4 stars.

    Tuna poke

While staying at Nemacolin Resort, we (a group of six adults) went to three of the high-end restaurants there - Aqueous, Rockwell's, and Barattolo. Most of us agreed that this was by far our favorite dinner. Service and presentation was excellent. We had several servers deliver our food when it was ready, and they described our dish to us. Of the three restaurants I mentioned above, this also had the most intriguing menu to me, both because I love seafood and because of their dessert menu. We enjoyed our scallops (4 out of the 6 of us got scallops, which is one of their most popular dishes), as well as our appetizers (tuna poke for me), and old fashioned cake.

How far in advance do you have to make reservations before arriving at the resort?

It depends how busy the resort is. Staying here the first week in April, it feels like we have the resort to ourselves! And so we were able to make restaurant reservations 24-hours in advance. But I wouldn't risk waiting during peak season.

Do I have to be a guest of Nemacolin to eat here?

In March 2022, yes only available to either an overnight guest or resort member /all access member.

The food was just insanely delicious and the service was amazing. I mean ending the night with that candy cart is just genius. It's pretty low cost for the restaurant but such a fun photo opp and nostalgic box to take home. This was probably the most expensive meal I've ever had, so I'm also really glad it was the best. Starting with the bread service the olive oil, honey, and butter were amazing. It was hard to restrain myself from eating a ton of it. The corn custard, scallops, and pierogi were delicious, but that wagyu beef, so freaking delicious. It came with a steak sauce where you mix the quail egg into it. Yum! It was just the best beef dish I have ever had. I can say enough good things about it. The kombucha pallet cleanser was also adorable before dessert. They think so much about the fun and whimsy of the presentation here, it just makes it that much more memorable. The posset for dessert, (their signature dessert) was beautiful and delicious as well. The wine pairing was spot on and I enjoyed every glass. The champagne tasting they also offer was pretty tempting, but also a bit more pricey than what I needed to tack on to an already expensive bill. My only complaint was the $10 small cup of coffee. Like they could have at least left the pot on the table. It just felt a little overkill to me when you already are spending $350 on the meal, maybe include the coffee. The singer was also a lovely touch to the meal. She had a beautiful voice and could sing everything from pop songs to opera. Super impressive! I really want to head back here with my husband, it is a dining experience you will never forget!

My daughter got a burger and Caesar salad, my husband got an omelette, and I got some onion rings and free rein to eat off their plates. Everything was delicious but the onion rings were a standout! It reminded me of a blooming onion in the best way! The strawberry jelly for the toast was also among the best I've ever had, and clearly made in house as it tasted so fresh. Our server was very pleasant but things moved a little slowly and we had to ask multiple times for our side of dressing. I was also shocked to see that a cup of coffee was $5! Overall though, this place was a delight and I wish I would have saved room for dessert.

You're probably here for some type of special occasion, because it is certainly pricey. I decided to splurge for a friend's birthday for brunch, which runs $95 per person and includes a mimosa. The same friend has visited a number of Frank Lloyd Wright houses with me, from this PA region to New York to Illinois, so it felt like the perfect place. I made a reservation on OpenTable and indicated that we had one vegetarian (myself). The restaurant followed up to make sure there were no other notes they needed to know, and also to see if I wanted to add anything on. You can add things like rose petals on the table and a single rose to the celebratory person, wine options, or an individual-ish celebration cake. I decided to add the celebration cake, which costs $20 and serves two people. There is a main restaurant, but the special experience this place has certainly become known for are the individual dining pods, which are out in the trees but well screened from any weather. There are heaters and fans available in your pod. It is a truly lovely private dining experience. You can just slightly hear conversations of other diners in nearby pods if you listen very hard, and there is piano music playing on speaker, which is instrumental version of popular songs like Britney Spears, Shakira etc. We found this funny but simultaneously enjoyed it. They had nice little touches like a Happy Birthday sign on the wall and an embossed happy birthday note for the birthday person to keep, and brought out chilled plates for a dessert involving frozen custard. It was nice attention to detail that reminded you this is a special dining experience. Service is attentive but unobtrusive and wants to make sure you are happy with your experience. Onto the food. The mimosas were already on our table when we arrived. Our server indicated they were sending out a complimentary amuse-bouche from the chef, which was an individual vegetable stuffed mushroom. It was delicious and a nice starting note. Then came the appetizer, a smoked burrata with pita, arugula, grape tomatoes and an edible orchid. Everything is so beautifully presented here, and just delicious. The entrées were crazy. There were two portions each of stuff French toast, potatoes and frittata. Those were all vegetarian and shareable. On a separate board came enough meat for two people to share as well, salmon, pork, sausage and carrots. Since that tray was not for me they also brought me a vegetarian bowl including veggies, chickpeas and quinoa. It was a lot of food and we ended up taking a nice amount of leftovers home from this part of the meal. Everything was wonderfully prepared, with the stuffed French toast probably being my favorite bite. Our server said she would be bringing dessert which I assumed was the celebration cake. But no, there was a French pastry each, presented with some fruit. They have a nice cocktail and cocktail menu and we elected to add an espresso mocktini each with this course. Those were on point and I've missed espresso martinis so much since I've largely given up drinking. After all of this came the celebration cake, which either came entirely or just the frozen custard from Tropical Bungalow, a local business. The Tahitian vanilla flavor was just delightful and the frozen custard was a wonderful texture. It was truly such a feast. We ate every bit of the desserts. One thing I appreciated here is that often when a place is known for the experience, the food is beautifully presented but not always plentiful. That is far from the case here, you are not going home hungry. My total bill came to $252, which included the two $95 brunches, the $20 celebration cake and two $14 mocktails. Adding a tip, I was a little over $300, which is a lot but it is a special occasion. We heard folks talking about staying overnight and looked up more information, and found that you can tour the four homes on the property here, two designed by Wright and two by his apprentice. In reviewing the tours I noted that there are package options, with one offering a tour of three of the houses and lunch at Tree Tops for a total of $75 per person (!). This is an incredible value and I think I would take this option next time, as the houses would definitely be worth touring as well. I look forward to my next visit here.

The food overall has potential, but a few dishes could use a little boost: The French onion soup was just okay--not bad, but not memorable either.
