Khan Moving provided absolutely amazing service, unmatched by any other mover I have ever used. I only ordered service after midnight the night before, giving them only a short notice of the job. I got an email from Mr. Khan shortly after I placed the order. He again called me the next morning to arrange a time. They communicated effectively with me and when an earlier job was done sooner than expected Mr. Khan called to see if I wanted them early. I was surprised when three people arrived 10 minutes before their 2:00 pm scheduled time and were quick to set to work. I should have waited for the professionals to even start loading because, under the direction of Mr. Khan, acting as the brains of the operation, they had to start by rearranging several things I had put in. They then started carefully loading my things. It was intensely hot that day; however, they worked vigorously non-stop from start to finish. All three took great care to assure that everything was well secured and protected. They repeatedly asked for more cardboard, pillows, blankets and other soft things so they could properly pad to protect my furniture. Even though I say that Mr. Khan was the brains of the operation, all three people were equally skilled at properly moving things, packing them and arranging things the best way to maximize space and provide protection to my belongings. I was extremely impressed that they worked well as a team exchanging ideas and discussing the best way to do things. It seemed like they were obsessed with protecting my belongings and single-mindedly concerned only with my satisfaction; they need not worry, I was more than satisfied. I intend to provide them with a great deal of business in the future. As long as I live in Maryland, I will never use another company. Between me, my friends and neighbors they can plan on many referrals. Hiring movers is a always a frightening, nerve-wracking, and often frustrating adventure. This was for a 1-BR move: Overall, a great experience. Sana (Mr. Khan), is extremely nice, professional and curiously strong. I was moving out of a 4th floor walk up -- with no elevator, so 3 flights of stairs -- into a storage unit, and Sana and Mike got the whole move done in 2.5 hours. My only complaints are 1) a few things should have been wrapped in a blanket (plasma tv, large framed artwork); and 2) several times Mike stopped to chat about various unrelated things. I'm happy to talk at the end, but when I'm paying by the hour, I want less talk and more work. In the scheme of things, my complaints are pretty minor. As I said, Sana is extremely professional and you can tell he has a ton of experience packing things. He made a visual assessment of how much stuff I had and knew right away what order and orientation everything would be packed in. I thought the guys did a great job overall (bonus points for not complaining about the stairs), so I paid them for 3 full hours ($180) even though it only took a little under 2.5 hours. The price for the uHaul truck (you have to provide your own truck) was $57.52. Total price for the move: $237.52 The cheapest estimate I had received from a moving company was about $400, with one estimate reaching $750. I'll be moving in two months from the storage unit into a new apartment and plan on calling on Khan once again. read more

VALUE -- that's what you'll get with Sana and his team. I have used moving help 6 times and I would choose Sana and Diego any day over the rest. Not only were they courteous, respectful, and skilled, but also incredibly surprising -- low-key, unassuming, and stealthily efficient! Some movers try to "milk" a job by moving at a slower pace where others will go gangbusters but are less careful with your belongings. Sana and Diego just kept moving - -quietly, steadily, and never took a break -- all during a record-breaking 102F-degree day in DC! Sana also has his system down--he quickly sized up the 2-location job starting at my storage unit before moving on to our apartment. He strategically spread our load from front-to-back of the over-sized 24' truck to ensure minimal shifting rather than stacking high. He made superb use of the blankets to protect the most fragile of belongings -- beyond what my wife and I had already packed -- e.g. a 42" Plasma TV with no original packing. I really cannot say enough great things about Sana and Diego and I wouldn't have taken the time to write this review if I was not overly impressed with their services and I will use him again when we head back to DC. Khan Moving has made me into a fan. They were available on short notice, showed up on time and did an excellent, careful job. All were friendly and hard working. The crew was Sana, Sixto(?) and Mike. They are well worth the money. I was puzzled at first why three men showed up although I had asked for a crew of two. It turned out that Sana was fasting for Ramadan, so although he did help out a bit in addition to planning and directing, he did it for free because he was not working as hard as usual. I thought that was quite honorable of him. Because I had not reserved enough hours (I had a lot more stuff than I thought!) and the move was not finished by the time they had to go to the next job, Sana personally came back that night to help us finish up. They even left us a bunch of brand new boxes to use later since we were running out. (Boxes are not part of the deal normally.) It was a pleasure meeting them and working with them. I am not much of an online reviewer, but since I have had mixed results with movers in the past, I chose Khan Moving only after reading many reviews. I must add my voice to the chorus and say that the positive reviews are well deserved in this case. read more

Sana and Diego showed up early, as mentioned by other Yelpers. They made 2 stops to pick up my roommate's items and then my own. Then we all headed to the new house to unload. Our 14' U-Haul truck was packed well. Had we been going farther than a few short miles, I'm sure it would not have shifted in transit. Everything was moved pretty quickly and painlessly. These guys even brought their own water! The only SNAFU was an issue caused by the new house. My box spring wouldn't fit up the stair. Sana took much care not to damage the drywall or wood trim while attempting to get it upstairs, which we appreciated, but in the end, that sucker just wasn't going to make it. My roommate was ESPECIALLY appreciative as he had planned on renting a U-HAUL and asking friends to help move us. Which would have been fine except I am not interested in all the lifting and stair climbing these days and we have tons of stuff...but in the end he was convinced that hiring Khan Movers was well worth the money. I couldn't agree more. All in all, it is pretty much what I expected based on other reviews and my experience with other movers. I'm happy I hired Khan Movers and would do so again. read more

This is the second time that I have used Khan Moving, and I have to say, I was impressed yet again. The Boss Sana is a great buisness man, who is very fair in his pricing and he knows how to make sure a customer is happy. Sana is the most amazing packer I have ever witnessed. When I packed my uhaul myself last year I had to use a 26 foot truck to get all of my stuff into, since last year I have accumulated more items, as well as quite a bit of new furniture. Sana quickly and carefully fit everything into a smaller 20 foot uhaul. The guys who work for him, are also courteous and friendly, and were very sweet to my 3 year old daughter who kept trying to "help" them. This time I had them pack up my 2 bedroom majorly overstuffed 3rd floor apartment, and follow me in their own vehicle to my townhouse to unpack everything. The moving itself took alot less time then I thought it would, the traffic getting there was horrible, but it's DC, theres really nothing surprising about the traffic being bad. I was thrilled with the fast and careful service they provided me. Next time I move I will use certainly be using Khan Moving as they are the only company I would trust. read more

Khan Movers were phenomenal with my roommate and me when we needed help moving our things into our new apartment. Sana, the owner, was absolutely wonderful in coordinating with us. We called the day before when we realized that the two of us would never be able to unload the truck, which we had packed up with the help of friends. When we confirmed the appointment, Sana helped us check all of our arrangements over the phone and said that we could call anytime with questions or concerns beforehand. And when we arrived early, he helped us reschedule so we could move our things in sooner. The crew was great as well. They showed up with all the stuff we needed (and that we hadn't thought about) to move our things in. It only cost us $80/hr to have the crew come move all our stuff, which was by far the best price from all the movers we called (we called eight for price quotes). The crew helped us get all of our things into the apartment and into the right rooms so we could get to unpacking. I had an excellent moving experience when I hired Khan Moving in August 2010. It was my first time using professional movers. I called many of the other highly rated movers on Yelp (because I didn't want to rent a truck) and all were booked up for weeks. I gave Khan Moving a call, and they had availability, so I made a reservation. After making the reservation, I reserved a medium U-Hall truck. On the morning of the move I picked up the U-Haul truck and miraculously found parking in front of my place (NO WAY IN HELL was I going to pay the city $34 for a "No Parking" moving sign. They used to be free, WTF?). Sana Khan and two movers showed up a little early (impressive), loaded up the truck fast, and unloaded the stuff at my new place. They were professional, careful not to break anything, and they moved fast. In the end I paid less than I would have to most of the other movers with high ratings on Yelp (including the U-Haul truck rental). I highly recommended them and would use them again. read more

These guys rocked! I had never hired movers before, so I was a little nervous. I have pretty nice white furniture, and it's huge and heavy (armoire, big desk, giant dresser, headboard and footboard). Needless to say, I was pretty worried that they wouldn't be able to get it down the steps of my previous house and up the steps at my new apartment. But they did it all with no problems! I don't have a single scratch or mark on any of my furniture. Nothing was broken or damaged in any way. They were super fast and still very careful with everything. Just a helpful tip - the better you are at packing your stuff, the better they will be at moving it. I wrapped the edges of my furniture with furniture pads (you can rent 6 from u-haul for $5), and had all my boxes stacked and ready to go. All that saved time packing the truck and also made me much less worried about damaging the furniture. Overall, I highly recommend Khan! I hired Khan Moving a week ago to help me with my move. I went with them b/c they had the best quote out of all the moving companies and had pretty solid ratings here on yelp. They also were very responsive to my request for a quote. I have to say that theese guys were fantastic! They showed up exactly on time and were extremely efficient in packing all of my boxes and furniture into the truck and moving them into my new apartment. No easy task since I now live in a building with no elevators. Altogether, the move took exactly 2 hours including driving time -- very impressive considering I moved from downtown out to Arlington. Interestingly enough, it also happened to be raining the day of my move. so you think there would've been a huge mess. Not the case! Sana and his colleague were incredibly courteous and took their shoes off when moving my stuff into the new place. We called them up on short notice and even though they already had someone they were helping that day they arrived 30 minutes early. The crew was incredibly nice, quick, and very efficient. They moved all of our furniture and big boxes from a 4th floor apartment (3 bedrooms) into the truck in a couple of hours, and their rates were competitive with the others I could find online. They did a remarkable job taking care of our possessions too. The only damaged boxes we had were the boxes we loaded stuff on top of after they left. Everything was tied in very nicely, Sana knows his knots. Once I figured out how it was tied, it was a snap to get them undone when we were unloading the truck. Normally I like to at least list small problems that occurred just so I can at least appear partial - but really there's nothing to speak of. The Bayer Corporation probably isn't happy, as I bought a lot less Advil thanks to the help from the Khan movers. read more

Sana was able to schedule my last-minute move. Mike and DJ showed on-time and were efficient in both the loading and un-loading of my contents. This was my first time using movers. I am done moving for a while, but I would definitely use Khan Movers again for an in-town move. Details of my move: -Local move (about 7 miles to DC, so about 45 minutes in traffic); 24-h between scheduling and moving; not too much stuff (probably fits in an efficiency); three flights of stairs to go down at the old place; elevators and loading dock at the new place. No problem. It took 2.5 hours. Note: This is one where you get your truck and Khan moving provides the movers. This is a little less costly than the companies that bring the truck. Unlike many others, from which I requested quotes, Sana called or emailed in a timely manner (within a couple of hours). read more

Absolutely fantastic! Sana and Michael came ahead of time, brought the truck and all the equipment (dollies, furniture blankets etc) and loaded all our boxes and furniture within two hours. Granted, I was very organized beforehand, had packed and labelled everything, and we didn't have that much furniture, but this was my first long-distance move and I was very stressed. The professionalism and ease with which these guys worked put me at ease. They loaded the truck a night before the move, and drove to our new place 600 miles north the next day. They unloaded everything and placed the boxes in the rooms that I directed them. They charged under $2000 for everything, including labor (for two men), truck rental, driving and fuel. When I used Khan Moving for the first time, I had never experienced the luxury of moving services in my life. The fact is that I had always been too cheap to use movers up until that time. I perceived that paying people to move my belongings would be more painful to my wallet than it would be to my back, so I stoically schlepped mattresses and couches and whatever else I owned from dwelling to dwelling for years. After my experience with Khan, though, I will never shlep again--despite the expense (which was incredibly reasonable for the level of service that we received). Sana and his crew arrived on time, swiftly moved our belongings into our new apartment, and even hauled our sofa up four flights of stairs because it wouldn't fit onto the elevator--at no extra cost. Sana was responsive to all my questions as I was scheduling the move, and I really appreciated that he called the day before to confirm. It was reassuring to know that I wouldn't be stuck with a 14' Uhaul and no movers! Sana and Michael arrived on time and got started right away. They were careful with all my furniture, giving particular care with my antique furniture. They used furniture pads and tiedowns so that nothing got scratched. They were also good at strategizing how to get my larger pieces into my new place, which has a narrow, winding stairwell. Sana has helped me move three times. His team is the fastest and most careful (I have antiques!) I have ever worked with in my 12 moving adventures. Most recently, Sana and team loaded a POD for me, and they did so carefully and with consideration about how things would move and be jostled and with a keen eye on weight and all that. They were complete geniuses when it came to filling the space and protecting my stuff. They are also super super fast. I have a one-bedroom with lots of stuff and they have moved me in under two hours (packing and unpacking) each time. Khan Moving really saved my roommates and me. We had one day to move 4 beds, 4 desks, multiple couches, etc. and we were still trying to take care of all our last minute cleanup. These guys really came through and did an excellent job moving all our stuff and packing the truck. The rates are really affordable and I know they did a better job with all of our stuff than we ever could have, plus they moved a substantial amount of stuff in just six hours. The last time I moved it was a complete disaster - this time went much more smoothly thanks to the fast and efficient work of Sana and co. These guys were fabulous! They arrived precisely on time, were conscientious, and quick. I was hesitant to break down some of my furniture, but Sana recommended it and, in the end, it had to be disassembled to be removed from my apartment, but I was very pleasantly surprised when I was unpacking to find that they'd clearly taken apart the bare minimum and thought about how to make reassembly easier for me. I was also very impressed that Sana himself came to oversee the two movers that I had hired. The guys probably could have handled it themselves, though! We were so impressed with the service of Khan Moving. Sana and Michael arrived earlier, evaluated the job and packed the truck so expertly. We couldn't believe how they made all our stuff fit in--they loaded the truck quickly, efficiently and intelligently, being sensitive to the fragile items.
