Such a great treat for the kids (once in awhile since soda and ice cream isn't the best thing for kids).

Really like the chicken at this place. The seasoning and the crispy-ness is just right. I've been…read morethere many times and I do have a couple issues. First, the inconsistent size of the chicken pieces. Every so often, I'll get a piece of chicken that is like 2-3 ounces, or about 1/2 the size of a normal piece. It's happened to me so many times that now I just go back to the counter and show them the tiny piece of chicken. They're usually pretty nice about it and will just give me another small piece to make it like a normal portion. Second, the weird pricing is a bit unfair. The single slider used to be $6. Over time it has gone up to $9, so basically $10 with tax. Fries are like $4.50 a la carte. So if you ordered 2 sliders and a fries a la carte it would be $22.50. But the meal with two sliders and fries, I believe it's $15. That's a nice discount for bundling the items, but sometimes I only want a slider. Slider alone should be like $7, not $9.

I've ordered Dave's Hot Chicken quite a few times, regretting it, and always wanting to go back…read more The spice burns, the chicken is juicy , and a good crunch on the outside. It's like a good ol' toxic relationship when you get it hot and even hotter- makes one regret and want it even more. Hot and juicy . And I love their Carolina Reaper level (not for the faint of heart, if you're not used to that heat tolerance ) . Makes ya burn. The juicy chicken and deep fried batter is amazing . They got a good recipe going, and a hot spice level. I always wonder about their buns, wanting it to be ciabatta with the sliders, but hamburger buns are ok. Not my favorite choice. I like the old school white bread they use that's keeping it traditional- you gotta use it to soak the extra seasoning with the sweetness. It's sometimes rare you'd find actual HOT food around here. Fog Belt's Brewery Carolina Reaper sauce does me another justice on the heat world. This place the 2'nd in the ring . The level they put at their max is the real deal . Juicy and HOT chicken . Take it from a Dave who likes spicy food like myself

Several years ago I tried the Hotboys location in Oakland and I gave them 3 stars because I felt…read morelike the wings were heavily battered. Today I was driving through Novato and craving spicy fried chicken. I see most people get the sando from here but I like to just stick to the chicken and not let the bread get in the way! Ordered 2 half chicken light only, which means the wing + breast and then another half chicken that includes the wing + breast + leg + thigh = so altogether, both orders $54.62 It seems expensive considering a whole raw chicken is about $5 but they do some voodoo magic to their fried chicken at Hotboys -- the seasoning is delicious, batter is crispy, and meat inside is still juicy -- the breast meat goes well dipped in their special sauce and they bagged plenty for me! Service was excellent -- very friendly and accommodating! The music is hyped up so it can be a little loud. Bathrooms were very clean. I thoroughly enjoyed digging into my half chicken with my hands. The wait is about 20 minutes but it's not a problem to wait for good chicken! It came out so hot that I was willing to burn my fingers a little LOL

It was a slight detour from where I was but it was work the drive here as I found Rustic Bakery right next door that my friend told me about the had good pastries. On their website, They use 100% halal chicken, peanut oil, wheat and soy products. I ordered the Chicken Sandwich Combo which is The World Famous Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich and your choice of side. This restaurant is located around the bay area like Oakland, Walnut Creek, Sacramento & Hayward or our locations in Carmel Indiana & Indianapolis. I love the hip looking decor. Something everyone can be surprised with and makes a great conversation starter like aliens and I used to have toy like that growing up. lol good meal combo I got with mild chicken sandwich with fries and a drink was very enjoyable and I would be more than happy to come back to World Famous Hotboys. I was impressed and it was yummy in my tummy.

ONE THING YOU NEED TO KNOW: Is that you need to order at the counter first pand pay. They will give…read moreyou a snazy number sign that you take to a table of your choice. They will bring you your drinks and food. It helps to know this so that there are no misunderstandings or unpleasant experiences that get in the way of enjoying your food and the casual vibe. Fortunately for me, I already know this. But I didn't know about this on my first visit. This time I tried the falafel. It was a different experience than I'm used to. It was served as an open faced sandwich, a different take on a salad presentation. I found that it was a fun experience. You taste every bite that way, and you can sop up the excellent hummus with the pita bread. The staff is always friendly here, and the vibe is easy going casual with excellent food.

Side Street Kitchen had such high reviews we were really excited to sit down and enjoy a meal…read more We walked up and stood in line, when another customer came up and asked if the people ahead of us had ordered. We said no, we're just waiting in line. They walked around us and went inside. The hostesses came out and speaks only to the people directly in front of us. I heard, "you're in the wrong area, you can order inside." Neither my husband or I are acknowledged, given an eta, or menus. So we wait for the people ahead of us to move and they do nothing but look at their menus. We wait a bit more, nothing. So we walk up to the menu on the wall to decide what we want. The people are still standing there, so we assume they don't know what they want yet and go inside to order. The hostess walks up to us and anxiously tells us there's a line. I let her know we were in it and the people in front of us weren't moving. She tells us to wait outside, and again no eta or menus are given to us. So we go back to our spot in line and look at all the empty tables and decide that the system feels disorganized and there appears to be only one waitress for 10+ tables. After waiting a bit more, we leave. At the end of the day, Side Street could have had proper signage for the line. The hostess could have addressed everyone and handed out menus. The restaurant could have even gone fancy and had an ordering tablet. But as it currently stands, Side Street Kitchen's service isn't great and its structure needs some work, so we don't see ourselves returning.
