Get ready for a cluckin' good time that will leave you craving more! - **Just as a disclaimer, I was invited to media day for the opening of this restaurant, so I acknowledge that my experience may vary from others since the opening. I had not visited the other Haven Hot Chicken restaurants in CT, but I am a big fan of Nashville style hot chicken and am glad it is getting more traction in the New England collegiate scene. The opening was used as a training for the employees and from what I saw, the staff was courteous and friendly. I had the sandwich in medium, a single tendie in haven, and a banana pudding (my favorite). Hot tip: they actually have two additional spice levels called "off menu" and "double off menu," but eat at your own risk. We witnessed two brave people trying it, and they had to briefly step out of the restaurant and chug boxed waters. Regular flavors are country (no heat), mild, medium, hot, and haven. They also have cauliflower nuggets and fuego fries (great that there are vegetarian options available too).

It just got totally rebuilt, so it's worth a more recent Yelp shout out…read more Pretty much every kind of seating now... bar height, regular tables and booths, lounge-ish seating. A few TVs to watch. It's still the same food, but hey, some people are so uptight they can't fathom the idea of a meal "for here" in a fast food place. This is one of those places that might loosen up those bunched panties. A little draconian with the ketchup though. No dispensers, just behind the counter. "How many? 3? 4?" the guy said... as if those were my only options. I woulda taken a larger handful... I mean they're ketchup packets. If you're so concerned with waste, put a box next to the garbage can for "unused packets." rinse, repeat, save money. But whatever. I'm not gonna get all draconian over a Burger King.

The worst management and customer service experience I have ever had. I order from here regularly,…read moreand my order history clearly proves I customize my rice the exact same way every single time (no vegetables, just eggs). Tonight, an app glitch failed to carry over that saved customization. After driving 25 minutes home and discovering the error, I called the store. The first employee was polite, listened, and tried to help. But the moment the manager took over the phone, she was immediately combative, placing 100% of the blame on me and flat-out refusing to remake the chicken so the entire meal wouldn't sit cold. Facing an extra 50-minute round trip (25 minutes back, 25 minutes home), I drove back. I explicitly told her I was parked right in front so they knew where to bring out the food. Instead, she didn't even drop the replacement order until 7:19 PM. After sitting in the car waiting until past 7:36 PM--nearly 20 minutes for a simple order of rice--I finally called back, only for them to dismissively say, "Oh, you're supposed to come inside," which nobody ever communicated. To argue with a loyal customer over an app glitch, refuse a basic remake after an extra hour of driving, make me wait 20 minutes in the parking lot, and play games with curbside handoff is pure disrespect. Completely unacceptable leadership.

Girlfriend was very interested in the tacos, so we opt for a trio of their spicy tacos. Service was quick and we found a seat to dig in. Overall, the chicken was tasty but the rest was okay. The sauce was kind of like franks red hot but a bit tangier but a little milder. It's a solid sauce, but I usually prefer a little more heat. The taco shells were generic, out of a bag tortillas. Nothing special of note there, just plain flour tortillas. they didn't bulk out the tacos with lots of extra slaw, but the chicken portion was very small for the size of tortilla they used. In the future, they should look at street taco tortillas. they're a bit smaller, but would make the chicken look like a significantly larger portion. Then if they use a seasoned crispy batter then dunk the tenders in the sauce then it would be a very awesome bite. for what we got, it was good but not great. They need to make little tweaks to get them to great, but it's easy enough to do. I hope to see some quality improvements going forward, but for now they are a solid choice if you're in the mood for unhealthy chicken.

We go to…read morethe restaurant and went to check in and they got the name wrong but the phone number was correct. After a little misunderstanding about the seating we needed we were seated. Restaurant was the busiest that we have ever seen with all table filled throughout the establishment. it's convenient that the menus are already on the table so that everyone could start looking them over while our server took our drink orders. And even better that the baskets of bread come with you as you are seated so you're getting the rolls nice and warm. Server was very friendly and had a great sense of humor. We placed orders for three filets (two well done which the server explained would be grilled butterflied to make sure they were well done), the FT. Worth (16 oz ribeye) and the filet and shrimp entree. Given how busy the restaurant was the wait time for the food didn't seem long at all. Everything was cooked as requested and all of the steaks and the shrimp were well seasoned. Side dishes were baked potatoes, which didn't seem to have much of a salt covering on the skin as usual, or sweet potatoes, all with plenty of butter. Two of us had the Caesar salad and commented that even though everything was fresh there didn't seem to be a lot of dressing, croutons or cheese. Our server made sure our drinks were refilled as well as the bread baskets. Seating was a booth with an additional chair at the end of the table which worked out fine so everyone had plenty of space and were comfortable. A could of Hurricanes were ordered which went down nice and smooth and are a great drink to accompany the meal. All in all a great visit with good food and good service and there no doubt will be return trips in the future, maybe when it's not so busy earlier in the day. Only downside to the restaurant is the noise level bouncing off the metal ceiling otherwise a good place to eat.

But I would say that Texas Roadhouse, for the type of place that it is, could very well be the best one. Compared to Applebee's or that sort of place, this one is tops. Part of the great bexperience was great service. Our waitress was clearly very waitress and inserted herself into the ordering process in a proactive way that SAVED MY DINNER. I didn't realize that the Road Kill was actually just a beef patty... "chop steak" sounds like a chop of steak to me, or a part of the cow (the "chops!")... she cleared me up real good. We had free bread, gobbled it up and the waitress brought plenty more. I wound up ordering the Beef Tips with mashed potatoes and a side of Corn. Wow... that was tasty. Ordered the combo appetizer which was good... not crazy about the wings but the Fried Pickles were the best... surprised me. Had a frozen strawberry margarita with silver Patron. Another WOW.
