This was the grossest place I've ever been. The bathroom was literally rotting away, the toilet, the sink and the wall. Neither the inside or outside has been cleaned in apparently years. In the past, I have visited many KFC's at different locations other than locally, always ordering 'to go' other than the Cameron Park location (clean bathrooms). My fave, The Bowl, was placed on a special, so my friend and I have been frequent and constant customers during this promotion. I love the staff here in Placerville (efficient, greeting us upon arriving, lovely people) and the food has been wonderful, hot, and delicious or I wouldn't keep going back. The only reason I couldn't give a 5 star is that I never get enough gravy and have had to order a side of it for enough of my 2 bowls I always buy (one for now, 1 next day). The containers just aren't large enough to smother them in gravy how I like evidently! Maybe if there was gravy at the bottom of The Bowl's and then the mashed potato's? Go, you won't be sorry. And by other reviews, I didn't know they had a senior discount! Also, my friend's rave about the fried turkey's and all the fixins they get at their locations (larger facilities) at Thanksgiving. We were told to come and pick them up around 5:00, assuming that they were reserved for us. I went to KFC in Placerville on Main Street on April 27, 2022 at 6:15 for a 3-piece dinner and took it home for dinner. I was astounded to find the chicken was WAY OVERSEASONED with SALT!!! First time in 70 years I've ever found something about KFC I didn't like!!! I thought their seasoning was standard and a well-kept secret, but somebody sure screwed this one up!! The chicken is always good here. But I was very disappointed to be served fake honey in a packet. It was made from high fructose corn syrup and a little honey. Mashed potatoes are definitely instant. Cole slaw was okay. The bathroom at the Placerville, CA location was old and dirty. It had red stuff splattered on the walls and a faucet that was about to come off the sink. The single unisex bathroom on the other hand was beyond disgusting! Worse than any backwoods, redneck, ghetto truck stop bathroom I've ever seen, heard of, or imagined. This restaurant is small, and dated, but for what it is, it's not terrible. The food is great. It's always hot and fresh. Sometimes there is a wait for something if you come at a really busy time. I am not sure about the other reviewer claiming bad customer service, as every time that I have been in, the staff are very friendly. I have never had to phone in a complaint, as I haven't had any, but I can't imagine that there would be any problem with correcting a grievance. The parking lot is not very big, but the restaurant has very easy access to Highway 50. That may be why there always seems to be a line for the restroom. (read it- restroom, singular.. as in only one toilet) The irritation comes in when you are finished with your meal and would like to use said restroom, only to find that several carloads of people on their way to or from apple hill or Tahoe have stopped off JUST to use the facilities. (Makes me feel bad for the folks that actually work there.) The kind of music that is playing seems to depend on who is working. I once mentioned the terrible music to the girl at the counter. She said she didn't like it either, but that the manager loved it so she couldn't change it. This restaurant needs a remodel, and more toilets. Bottom line- If you want yummy food and good customer service, I would highly recommend this place. If, on the off chance you are looking at reviews of great places to stop and use the bathroom on your way through, give this one a pass. I asked for my senior discount and I was informed by Lawrence Martin that my meal had been discounted enough and that his manager Alberto is the one who made up that rule. By this point I felt humiliated even asking for my discount knowing that my friend orders the same meal at the same store and gets her discount. But When the seniors behind me ordered the same meal and asked for their discount and it was granted he didn't need Alberto's approval to give them the discount I was really upset ! This is the third time this store has shorted my order. I spent $60 and got no biscuits, no fries, no ranch sauce and my 12 piece bucket contained only wings and thighs. I placed the order on line an hour and a half before I needed it to give them more time to get it right. The last time this happened they refused to refund my money and wanted me to return to the store to get my missing items. I live 45 minutes from town and I'm not coming back to town on a Friday evening. I've had it with this location. I will never give them another chance. Three times is the charm. read more

Stopped here for lunch break. When I walked in it looked kinda empty with only two workers working. I had to wait to take my order because the young girl working the front of the house was expediting a couple of orders she had previously taken. I was able to place my order with her and sat to wait for my food but while I was sittin g there eating for my food I notice that the other worker at the back was not helping her out he was just back there twiddling his thumbs. Wow....where do I begin? Way too small. The kids that work the counter act like they were drafted to work there and contantly get my order wrong. I know you should always double check your order before you leave but I as the customer should not have to worry if it's correct. I am paying good money for a service. This service is suppose to be correct and efficient. I know that in my business if I shorted a customer on product they paid for I would lose my job. The guy with pink hair and gold teeth had terrible customer service and was so unprofessional with how he was treating the poor gentleman that was working by the name of Justin he was trying his very best while we were at the front of the line waiting for the past ten minutes without any acknowledgment! He did look at us but never said anything or apologized for the the wait. He was talking crap to the poor kid the whole time while not even doing anything to help the situation just telling him what to do which was everything and then throwing a fit about the kid not going fast enough I wouldn't either if I was spoke to in such a way!! I also order biscuit to go along with my order Spoke to staff at least 3 times to confirm order up before event. 5:00 on the ninth as promised. Piping hot chicken and biscuits already and secured in nice heat saving aluminum trays for easy transport. Plenty of butter, honey and serving utensils. to accompany it. All at a great price !!! I went there today and I asked for my senior discount and I was informed that my five dollar meal was cheap enough and that I didn't get to use the discount on that meal. Right after he told me that a senior came up behind me and ordered the same me up and asked for his discount and it was granted. I'm not poor but it's the point that I was discriminated against I do not know why Lawrence Martin said it was Alberto the manager's rule but he didn't need Alberto to approve the people behind me.
