I have been here a few times and it has been really great. There is good amount of parking it's very clean area. You can walk in and find a table I went on a Friday evening and it wasn't too crowded and was able to find a table. They have outdoor seating as well. All the employees were super friendly and nice and making sure we had everything we needed they also checked up on us. Megan and Jacquelyn were super nice and friendly. The food was so delicious I have has the pretzel bites and the mustard sauce was so good that it came with and the chicken strips were so good they give you a good amount of food for what you pay for. If you want good quality for decent price I would come here. They have drinks little bit of everything beer, wine, mixed drinks. I had an electric cherry it was so good. You can come here have a drink and good food and chill and it was too crowded or noisy I was able to find a table Friday evening. In my honest opinion, chicken is good but not great. The batter on the chicken is a little too thick for my liking with a lingering oily mouth feel. The sauces, however, were absolutely delicious and carried the meal. They were creative, well balanced and each had a unique flavor. Love this place. Since I moved about a year ago, I stumbled with this hidden gem! This is located in the backwoods of Cameron Park, not too far from EDH! We ordered the chicken sandwich, I must say it was very crispy and fluffy, there was more batter than chilcken. However it was lacking flavor. Went in today. I come from Placerville to do some laundry next door because it's clean and well maintained. Enough of that. I always go to have a beer or 2 and some food while I wait for laundry. Not busy at all. Around 1PM. The bartender is ok, but non attentive. Ordered a beer and she asked me if I wanted to eat. Yup, she handed me a menu and was busy with a FEW people's drink orders. Nothing drastic. Went to throw my laundry into the dryer and came back. I ordered some food and waited 25 minutes. Trying to be patient, but gave up. Asked for my 2beer bill and left. I asked her what happened to my order and she told me that she put it on hold. Huh???? Told me sorry. It's all good. I grabbed my laundry and headed down to El Dorado Hills to Relish for a couple beers and a burger. Way better customer service. Seems like Chx Shop caters to regulars. Every time I've been in prior to this it's been great; The only difference was that this time we did an online order. My mom got chicken strips and they were the highlight. Super crispy, but lacking flavor seasoning wise. And the ranch also tasted like hidden valley, which works for some, but for me was a bit of a turn off. I got the buffalo chicken Mac n cheese and I was pretty disappointed. For one the food was cold, and it shouldn't have been cold for how long it took us to pick it up and bring it home. But also the chicken did not taste very fresh, and the Mac n cheese wasn't even really Mac n cheese, it tasted more like pasta with a bland Alfredo sauce than Mac n cheese. Not terrible, but really not all that good. The most disappoint dish was the salad my dad and sister got. Usually the salad portions are huge in-person, but the Caesar salad they got was tiny and was missing toppings. Will this dissuade us from coming back and eating in-person? This place is solid - best fried chicken! It is the same establishment that used to be located in Town Center and same owner. We stopped in on Saturday for a late lunch and were greeted by Cat at the bar who made some great recommendations and provided excellent service. They currently serve wine and beer with a pending license for mixed drinks anticipated within a month. Good beer tap list, lots of TVs to watch sports and lots of chicken decor to go with the restaurant theme, friendly and welcoming staff. The food is really good here if you like fried chicken. We ordered the chicken strips that are moist chicken breast chunks with the perfect amount of breading fried at the ideal temperature to create a crisp fried batter coating. Lots of places don't get the seasoning or temperature right but not this place. Seasoning is on point! Batter is not soggy nor oily and not too thick / thin. It comes with a selection of dipping sauces and Cat gave us her favorites. They charge $0.75 per extra sauce. We liked the lime curry the best! We also got the fried chicken plate which is enough to feed a family of 4 - you get half a chicken drizzled with honey, potatoes (we substituted fries for mashed) and Cole slaw. Chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned, similar to the fried chicken strips but with the bones - breast, leg, wing, thigh. Cole slaw was also very tasty. Winner, winner chicken dinner!! read more

We just found this place this past Saturday. We really didn't know what to expect walking in, we just knew the kids were asking for chicken. The place had a fun décor, and the woman working was very nice and welcoming. So were a couple of ladies who were eating at the bar, who mentioned we may have just stumbled into one of Cameron Park's hidden gems. We ordered the fries topped with sausage gravy, cheese, and bacon as an appetizer. Everybody loved them. The gravy in particular was excellent - not too salty, with the sausage flavoring their creamy sauce perfectly. Interesting side note here - they had actually fried up some actual bacon for their bacon fries. It occurred to me that this shouldn't be the novel idea it's become these days, but was definitely a good sign. I ordered their "Hell-Dorado" spicy chicken sandwich. Being on the hunt for a perfect spicy sandwich for years, and as somebody who truly likes some heat, I had no idea what I was in for here. It did look very promising when it arrived. A thick, large piece of chicken was pouring over the sides of a gently toasted brioche bun. Then, the first bite just blew my hair back. To preface - I could write a book on how to do a spicy chicken sandwich wrong at this point. The common pratfalls are: too much bun, too little (or too much) sauce, the pickles being weak and too thinly sliced, or my favorite - the thing just isn't spicy. This fiery culinary delight however - it was the polar opposite of all of this. The generously sized piece of chicken was crispy, hot, and it was juicy. The sauce was plentiful - just enough to drip a little when you took a bite, but not enough to give you 5 minute soggy bun syndrome. The dill crunch from the pickles snapped perfectly. And then, came the flavor... immediately followed by mounting heat. I almost couldn't' believe how each component was playing out. For perhaps the only moment this last Saturday, I didn't say a word for a few minutes, and just ravenously devoured this thing. Now, anyone that enjoys spicy foods has been through a disappointing meal before. You tackle some supposedly super spicy entre, maybe one where you even have to sign a waiver, only to be let down. Generally, these sort of things do end up having some heat, sometimes an excessive amount in fact. Which is great and all, but the problem is, that's often all they're offering. Sure it's hot- but it tastes like, basically, nothing. That was not the case here. In what was no doubt a mad kitchen scientist moment, these guys created a perfect hot sauce. It's bursting with flavor, followed by an absolutely stellar, yet proportionate, amount of heat. I was sitting there in awe - at least for as long as I could stand it before jumping into another bite. I feel bad for any onlookers - I'm sure it must have looked like I hadn't eaten in weeks. It was so good, I didn't even stop to take a picture. I destroyed this thing. I've been marinating on this review for over two days now. It can be easy for me to become hyperbolic when I have an experience like this. I tend to jump to statements like "This was the best" or "This was the worst" such-and-such when I have such a striking food moment. But, I've thought this through. After over 48 hours of constantly thinking about this thing, it's time to report: This was the best spicy chicken sandwich I have ever eaten. Keep doing exactly what you're doing here, you guys.
