I walked into a clean and friendly restaurant location and ordered a 12 piece family meal to go. I guess there is an app but we don't often go to KFC...so I didn't bother. We ordered extra crispy chicken and is perhaps the reason it took a while for the order to be complete. For big orders and if you're in hurry, I'd suggest using the app to speed up the process. saw a tv add for 10 pieces of drumsticks for $10.00.. on Tuesday only. drove alllll the way out to goleta. got in line. had to wait while the person kevin helped the delivery people.. there was 5 people inline behind me. I asked for the tv special. Kevin told me there was no such thing, but I could buy the eight pieces for $ 12.00 and if I wanted original, there would be a twenty minute wait, so I opted for 1/2 of what I wanted and 1/2 other.why would a giant conglomerate like Pepsi do false advertising. I'm not big on fast food, but must say that this particular KFC location has made a real 180. I have memories of coming into a hot, dirty restaurant with atrocious service. That appears to have changed with their recent remodel. The new decor looks great, and although probably 1/3 of the seating was removed, I wouldn't mind dining inside. There is also working air conditioning which is surprisingly nice on a hot day. The customer service appears to be better, too. It's hard to take your job seriously when you're making minimum at a fast food place, but I feel that the front end employees do make a bit of an effort these days. The food is, and has always been, prepared well. There is typically not much of a wait. Pricing is reasonable, and the menu options are plentiful. I don't expect amazing food as this is fast food, but feel like it's a good deal for the price paid. Though I live in downtown Santa Barbara, I'd wholeheartedly drive to this Goleta location rather than the poor excuse for a KFC over on Milpas. The Goleta location exceeds in every category. Living in the Santa Barbara area has taught me an abundant amount about appreciating chain restaurants. I love the consistency especially having moved so far from home. That said, though I appreciate the access to KFC as they're on Uber eats. I ordered an 8 piece bucket (4 original /4 extra crispy) and I'm not going to lie, my chicken was a little on the bland side. I think I'm use to KFC packing a bit more punch in the flavor department. Though a chicken restaurant I actually have to say that the accompanying potato wedges were the hi light to my meal. I ordered online about 3 hours before pickup knowing there was plenty of time for our order to be ready. My wife arrived almost exactly on time and was told that it would be another 30 minutes. I called to get a refund from the store and to cancel my order. They said they could not give me a refund. They then gave me a number, to get a refund, which said no-one was available. My wife was forced to pick up food from another place and by that time I received a message which said my food was ready which I had already cancelled. I have still not gotten an answer from an email I sent or has anyone answered the phone at the KFC complaint/question number. Too bad, I do enjoy KFC's chicken but never again at this KFC. read more

Disappointing, to say the least. The Hot Wings were unappetizing and tiny. KFC used to be better several years ago. This is the first time I've had KFC since 2012 and sadly the menu choices seem to have gotten worse. Major food revamp is needed. At least the service is better than some fast food places. Surprised that they no longer have grilled chicken available. Is that all stores or just small ones? Just checked KFC.com and it's still on their main site so I guess it's just small stores. Anyway I'm not a fan of fried chicken so I wanted grilled. Came in here and they don't carry it. Was hungry so I ordered a couple of sides instead. Mac n Cheese, cole slaw and some biscuits. Staff was very helpful and friendly. 5 stars for them. Location is tiny, with just a few tables. minus a star for no grilled chicken and I didn't see a bathroom or indication of one either. Tables could have been bussed faster. The store was pretty dead when I stopped in but the table I wanted to sit at wasn't clean. I brushed the crumbs off and sat at it anyway. Parking is okay - has a parking lot but this strip mall is super busy so it's easy to get into a fender bender pulling in or out. Be wary for the excess of cars. read more

This is the best KFC I have ever been to. (Not necessarily because of the store itself, because it doesn't have a drive thru or a play place or much seating) but the people who work here. We visit this KFC often because we are huge fans of the famous bowl. Last time I was here, the customer before me was giving Maya and Esmeralda a very difficult time but they handled it with grace. They were still kind and patient and kept making an effort to get the order right. When I ordered, I was given exceptional service. We had coupons and the workers were nice and helped us figure out how to use them. As soon as the place cleared out a bit, Maya started cleaning the store which was nice to see-- the store cares about their hygiene. Flor is another worker here who takes great care in giving the best service, always with a smile. She even remembers our order every time! They are the only KFC I have been to where they aren't unnecessarily stingy with the hot sauce when you ask. It seems like they really enjoy their jobs here and always have a positive attitude. We always dine-in now too because the store presents itself as a warm and inviting place to have a meal. read more

This KFC sucks. The young guy at the counter was pretty nice and allowed the option to sub any side instead of mashed potatoes in the family fill up, but still, it's dismal in that place. This is not a place in which you want to dine so get it to go. All the sides were the standard and the chicken was on the bland and dry side because it had been sitting out a long time once we got there around 7pm on a week night. Had KFC last night. My friend ordered first and since she is a non-native speaker of English, she had a bit of trouble understanding Ofelia's (the server's) accent. Afterwards, Ofelia turned to her male coworker and the coworker said the word "chingada". This is a pretty strong profanity in Mexican Spanish. Needless to say, as a customer I shouldn't have to put up with that type of language - regardless of the context it was used in. So, I was left wondering whether they had talked about my friend in a negative way or whether the worker had just said it with regard to something else. I decided to talk to Ofelia about it (I speak fluent Spanish, but don't look like a Spanish speaker). She was very polite and apologized for her coworker. I told her that it is inappropriate to use that type of language loud enough for customers to hear, regardless of the context. The other thing I disliked was that the worker who said "chingada" was very rude and flippant in his body language. He was banging things and when he gave us our meal he basically threw it down on the counter. This guy deserves to be fired. Anyway, food was fine but service is terrible. Nothing spectacular about this place...your typical KFC. Although I've previously said that I avoid fried food like the devil, ....college really breaks ya. I think KFC's colonel strips have been become my comfort food when I'm having a stressful time with school. I always order the 6 piece colonel strips and the people working always give me like 8 strips. I think it's because I usually go around closing time...or the people working there are just nice. What I like is that a little bit more than halfway in, I get full and can save the remaining 2 or 3 strips for lunch the next day (I think it's because I chug root beer when I have KFC. Probably fills me up a lot more than the chicken) The lady who's usually at the register when I go is nice and really gives me a LOT of hot sauce when I ask for it. Anyways, I'm really thankful for this KFC location. It really feeds me when I'm feeling down or just craving KFC and cannot hold back. read more

If you're looking for the latest The Colonel has to offer, you won't find it here. I pop in here for lunch a couple of times a year to see if they've got any of the new things I've seen advertised, but the menu has remained totally unchanged for at least three years. Don't be fooled by the big posters outside, either. Though they may advertise something new and different (currently "$5 fill ups" meals), such things do not appear on the menu inside and mentioning them will make the staff look at you like you've grown another head. The most recent addition is the Dip 'Ems combo, a meal intended go showcase KFC's new sauces. This restaurant doesn't actually have any of those though, just the same three mediocre sauces they've always had. Service is slow except during the lunch rush. Expect to stand around for several minutes before someone gets around to taking your order. There's not much else to say. Parking is free and plentiful. The place is reasonably clean. The bathroom is located outside the restaurant and presumably the staff must be asked for the key. I've never used it because I never wanted to trouble the staff. The food is as good as any other KFC I've ever eaten at. This one just seems to have stagnated circa 2010. It's not terrible, but this particular franchise is doing nothing to save a dying brand. read more

Went in tonight ordered two breast and wing 3 piece combination. They had no biscuits ready at 5:00 pm. When I got home I found out they gave me 2 thighs and a drumstick. I only come here because it's the only fried chicken place in goleta and it's decent. After a couple of years I decided to try if she wants again. The new hot spicy chicken feeling of me and was ever ties well. The menu selection was minimal And I decided to go for the two piece chicken combo which came with a biscuit coleslaw or mashed potatoes the chicken combo. The hot spicy chicken was only available in extra crispy, it was very oily and not very hot at all. It add add a sickly sweet taste to it and was quite a disappointing. I felt a little ill after I ate two pieces of chicken and coleslaw but got better as the day went on. It will be at least another two years before I go back if that. We don't go to KFC all that often - maybe two or three times per year. It's not high cuisine and it's not healthy, but the chicken is decent and the sides are usually consistently just as one would expect. You know what you're in for at KFC, or at least that's the theory. But my last two times they've been out of stuff. Last time, it was mashed potatoes. Tonight, biscuits. Okay, fine, stock runs out. I get that. Although, come to think of it, they don't have a wide-ranging menu with a dynamic ingredient line up, so it's kinda odd to run out of basics when all that you serve are, well, basics... Here's the thing: I don't understand why they sold me two meals which are supposed to come with biscuits - clearly (read below), they knew they were omitting them, but did not tell me, or offer a substitute. Oh, but I did get the fake butter and honey packet in each meal box, so yay! (The last time I was there, when they were out of mashed potatoes,another customer in front of me came back to complain, which was how I found out. Why are they not up front about the availability of their items?) Back to tonight's episode, I got home and opened the boxes up and discovered the lack of biscuits, called the store, and the manager, in a tone utterly lacking surprise, said, "Oh yeah, we're out of biscuits tonight. Sorry the cashier didn't tell you that. Do you have your receipt?" Well, I suppose there's a tiny chance that I would guess EXACTLY the item that they're out of on the very night that they're out of it, and then proceed to try to pull a con job on them by lying that I had just been there to pick up to-go meals, so that maybe I can wrangle me a FREE meal at some point in the future. But really? I just wanted the freakin' biscuits. And no, I don't want to get back in my car at 5pm to drive back to their store to pick up my two biscuits. I know, I know, we're talking biscuits here, people. It's not a major life crisis. But here's the context: I was up all night long with a sick child (yeah, the worst kind of sick to have to clean up), and had planned to give him the biscuit and a little chicken w/o the skin. I had not slept all night, had gone to work, and picked up a fast food meal because I was in no shape to cook a regular dinner at home. So I expect KFC to fulfill their part of the social contract into which they had entered by allowing me to purchase their freakin' meals!! And the contract terms explicitly state that I get a damn biscuit with each meal! Train your staff, Mr. or Ms. Franchise Owner. Customer service matters even in the take-out-fast-food biz. read more

I got food poisoning!!! I will never eat at any KFC location. I went there Thursday night 11/17. I ordered a famous bowl when ch is popcorn chicken on top of mashed potatoes, corn, cheese and gravy. As soon as I was almost finished I started feeling weird. I woke up through out the night going to the bathroom. I had it for a few days but my symptoms lasted 8 days. Which a nurse told me is normal. Another thing when I went to give the cashier my credit card she gave it to a boy and he started walking to the back. I went to kfc craving Mac and cheese with chicken. I ordered and paid & after I paid they didn't have chicken breast nor Mac and cheese the guy made me choose something else from the menu didn't ask to return my money. I felt forced to pick something else on the menu & right in front of me he tells his coworker there's one hour left till we close I'm not going to make a half Bach.
