Not great. The food is average, there needs to be more staff as it is usually busy.

The Hudson Bar - Mirror, mirror on the wall what's the best bar of them all?

Firstly I thought that on a Friday afternoon that the place would be rammed and I'd have to wait an age to get ripped in to those tiny, tender poultry pieces but I was wrong I walked in ordered at the bar and less than 15 minutes later I was presented with a wooden bowl of 33 glazed buffalo wings - all for £8.95! The price was good and the wings did live up to the hype but I wouldn't say they were earth shattering. There was just the right amount of glaze but the wings themselves lacked meat. Yesterday's visit to The Hudson reaffirmed how good the bar is in my eyes - it's such a jack of all trades - serves a whole host of different beers - I had the Sam Adams, something that you don't see too often in Belfast. It really is the perfect place to garb some wings and have a beer on a Friday afternoon.

I had a club sandwich which was served with skinny fries & a nice little bit of salad, really enjoyed it all. My husband had the steak sandwich with chunky chips which got a thumbs up from him. Will definitely be back I'm back! Having food before my birthday party which is happening upstairs, tonight I went for scampi & chips....yum! Menu is limited but what they do, they do well. Table had a mix of chunky chips, skinny fries & sweet potato fries all of which are delicious

I think KFC is the best because the chicken is absolutely delicious and as I write this my mouth is watering. Mc Donald's would come second as it is the best hangover cure I know but Burger King just seems to lack something. I just don't like it at all. It seems to have got itself caught so much on the 'burger' element that whereas McDonalds and KFC can elaborate their meals and show a bit of variety, Burger King seem restrained some what to all their meals coming out of the oven in a burger shape. In saying this though, anytime I pass it in the city centre it is always full of people who look more than happy with their food. Maybe you have to be either Mc Donald's or Burger King fan but can't be both. I recently called in to see if it had improved since the last time I was in and sadly it hadn't. The staff is nice and the place is well laid out and clean but this place really isn't my cup of tea/ or my burger

Burger King is definitely better than McDonald's. Controversial statement I know, but its true…read more Their burgers are better and bigger and their fries are nicer. However I think you always end up spending more in Burger King than in McDonalds. However this individual restaurant is not much to sing on about. It has been there for years and is quite dated and a bit grotty. There are plenty of seats downstairs and upstairs. It is usually busy enough which I am glad about as other people uphold my Burger King superiority statement. This place is good if your in a rush but I wouldn't go planning any first dates here or anything.

Yet another great sandwich place right in the heart of the city centre at the back of Donegal…read moreArcade, Sarnies is a wonderful place to get yourself sorted with either a mid morning snack or a quality lunch! The Signs outside are dilapidated and the interior is basic with all the space dedicated to the showcasing of the food on offer, but with seating space outside if you want it ( that is fortunately covered to hide you from Belfast's real "charms") this isn't an issue. What matters here is the food, and oh mama is it good! The sandwiches are all freshly made on site with fine local ingredients. There are a wide range of choices, whilst you can order up anything you would want just by asking. The man who runs the shop is a chatty and friendly person who is one of these people who seems to know everyone around town!He also knows what I want usually before I say anything which is probably a poor reflection on me.... but I can't help loving their white rolls with chicken, ham, stuffing and cranberry sauce, it is like Christmas in a sandwich! There are a changing variety of daily soups and stews, and other options like mini frys and sodas to appease those who want something a little different. Everything is reasonably priced too, which is another bonus. I personally loathe the "sandwiches" at subway with their mediocre bread, processed fillings and scandalous prices, and I wish people would abandon them for places like this which have quality food at a price that doesn't stretch the pockets!

Sarnies, good name by the way (i'm a fan of it, I don't know why but there is something quaint and local about it) is situated just off Royal Avenue so it's perfect for the lunch time shopper and or tourist. When I landed down I had a meatball sub which I'm not too sure if they do now as I didn't see it last time on the menu. The meatballs were lightly spiced in a rich silky marinara sauce, loaded with sticky cheese on a submarine roll. All that for under £3 cannot be beaten. Check it out.
