Everyone arrived at the same time. I didn't put much thought in what I got. I didn't want to keep everyone waiting. I Just wanted to try a few things. Everything was 3.75 to 4.50 size are very small. Nanimo was a normal size but the cheesecake was about 3 bite. Wish they had a mix box. That way you could try the donut and other treats. Maybe a best sellers box with 4 bites. I like that everything I get her is celiac. I didn't know vegan could taste this good. It is definitely a treat and not something I would treat myself to everyday. I'm not gluten-free, but try to be gluten-reduced, so liked that they had lots to chose from. They had a basket of day-old baked goods that were reduced 50% off. I figured that would be a good way to try several different items inexpensively. No prices were listed on anything (neither regular priced items nor discounted items), so I just took a leap of faith and picked up 3 prepackaged bags. I got a bag of 2 gluten-free chocolate chip cookies, a bag of 2 gluten-free raspberry oatmeal squares and a bag with a gluten-free muffin in it (I couldn't tell what flavour it was by looking at it, but later discovered it was banana). All that for $6.75 taxes included. The cookie was a bit crumbly and dry, but not bad. It wasn't too sweet despite having a lot of chocolate chips in it, which I appreciated. The oat square was also a bit dry, but I still enjoyed it. Again it wasn't overly sweet. The banana muffin was really dry and my least favourite of my purchases. Note that it did not have nuts in it, so perhaps good for those with nut allergies and like banana muffins, as most banana muffins tend to have nuts in them, at least from my experience. Staff were very friendly. The bakery is co-located with a florist. It's super cute inside. Looks like a down-to-earth neighbourhood bakery and not a frou-frou place. I will have to return and try some fresh goods to see if the texture is better ;) There is a parking lot on site for the bakery and neighbouring businesses, but it looked pretty full when I was there. I neglected to say in my previous review, that the restaurant is vegan, as well as gluten free and Kosher. They also have a shop in Westboro, which is how I got to know of them, as it's close to where I usually work, but with COVID restrictions and working from home, I have been told they are still open there too (thanks Jennifer P!). I am really glad they have one in Kanata. Their pastries and cakes and cookies really are all delicious, and high calorie. Ok, they're decadent! I really can't wait till shut down orders are done, so that I can meet my knitting friends for a nosh and a coffee there. One day; one day... Meanwhile, this review is for today's visit. We just picked up coffee, which was ok. I have to admit that I had forgotten that they are vegan, which means they don't serve cow's milk, and they don't bake with it either. For my latte, I had a choice of oat, soy, or I believe coconut. I chose coconut because I don't like the other 2 choices. If I remember correctly, last time we were here, I think I took my black coffee home with me, and put milk in it; sacreligious, I know! As of May 2023 they still didn't have permanent signage up on their building, but they were open and fully functional. Everything in their bakery is vegan. They have a small selection of gluten-free items as well. They also sell coffees and teas. They have some seating inside the bakery. I find their baked goods very sweet and very rich. Too much so for my own tastes, but likely not for others, since I find most desserts that I don't make myself too sweet. My little nieces who have quite the sweet tooth though, enjoy their baked goods very much, lol. They sell a few different loaves of bread. I've had the rustic sourdough and it's quite good. It has that tang that I love about sourdough and it's not too dense. They sell their items at some health food stores, like Natural Food Pantry (which is actually where I first tried their items), in addition to at their bakery. The bakery is in a little plaza. Lots of free parking in the plaza.

Everything was moist and rich. Nothing was dry nor crumbly. The blueberry scone was my favourite. It was chock-full of big plump blueberries. They have a good variety of baked goods, both sweet and savoury. In the grocery store section they have gluten-free snacks such as crackers and also different gluten-free flours and mixes. We also picked up a chocolate coconut square bar and it was FANTASTIC, melt in your mouth, buttery, goodness. Lastly, we picked up some fresh garlic garlic bread, which was white bread, with olive and garlic baked on top. It was heaven, and I will admit, I ate half of it already. The atmosphere was inviting. I'm trying to cut down on sugar and I don't normally have a sweet tooth, but of course, I've…read moresuddenly been craving sweets. Figures! Maybe because I know I should be cutting back. We always want what we can't have, right? I decided to look into Carb Free Baking Co., who were behind the Carb Free Cafe that used to be in the Byward Market. I had eaten there a few times while I was doing keto and it was always great. I know they have places where you can buy their products, such as Fitness Depot at Trainyards and Johnny Farina's downtown, but they're a bit of a drive for me, so I was happy to find out they deliver. I think you can also pick up in Nepean during certain hours. For others watching their carb/sugar intakes, there's no nutritional labels on the products (some are on the website), but there's a list of common ingredients on the website, which includes almond flour, coconut flour, whey protein powder, all nuts, erythritol as a sweetener, eggs, cheese, coconut and MCT oil, vanilla, cocoa, lemon juice, and various sugar-free syrups. All products are sugar-free and gluten-free, and 5 carbs or less per serving. Though it doesn't always specify how much, note that fat content is high, as they're meant to be keto-friendly (i.e. high fat, low carb). So don't judge me, but I went a little crazy with the purchases. I bought 4 slices of banana nut loaf (2 orders of 2 slices each), a 4-pack of maple-pecan cinnamon buns, cookies 'n' cream cake (2 slices per order), and a variety pack of donuts (6 donuts). Don't worry, I shared with my husband :) We put them all in the fridge right away so that they wouldn't get too warm and melty. I also stuck two slices of the banana bread in the freezer for future cravings. I warmed up one of the slices just slightly as a rich and delicious breakfast that kept me full for quite awhile. The maple-pecan cinnamon buns were wonderful as a warm breakfast or snack as well. They're smaller but decadent. The dough is just a bit salty, as I believe they use fathead dough (made with eggs and mozzarella), but it wasn't too salty and balanced the sweetness of the icing. The cookies 'n' cream cake was so good, even though I don't even normally like cake in general. Not too sweet, great balance between the chocolate chips and cookie parts and the cream. The husband really enjoyed this one! The donut flavors change weekly, but the one we got had Dynamo Nanaimo, Lemon Drop, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Hazelnut Crunch, Chocochip, and Strawberry Fields, all pretty self-explanatory. Notably, the Lemon Drop quite tart and refreshing (also comes with a slice of fresh lemon on top), and I liked that the Dynamo Nanaimo came with a piece of a Nainaimo bar on top that was really good, but the Chocolate Peanut Butter was my favourite. It also came with a piece of a chocolate peanut butter cup on top that I could've easily eaten a ton of! The Chocochip was definitely the plainest, the Hazelnut Crunch had a hazelnut in the middle but otherwise didn't have much hazelnut flavour, and the strawberry fields was nice but faint as well. Since they're specialty products, they're definitely not cheap and rang me up just over $100 (including tax and $9 delivery). Even still, I was happy to pay it! They're delivered the next day by Gopher, a third party, and I think some if not all are previously frozen, but it didn't affect quality whatsoever. Everything was so good and really satisfied my cravings for awhile (I swear I didn't eat them all at once).

They sell sandwiches, desserts, pastries and coffee. I'll be back for lunch or coffee!
