TLDR: cute little bakery that sells gluten-free keto items. Delicious, but pricey and the items…read moretaste very keto-y, haha (you know what I mean, that dense almond flour/coconut flour taste).
Keyto My Heart Bakery apparently opened up in the summer of 2023, but I only discovered it in December of 2023 when I was scrolling through UberEats looking for deals, lol.
Keyto My Heart Bakery is a gluten-free, grain-free, sugar-free, keto bakery.
I do not follow a keto diet. I am an equal opportunity eater, lol. I buy items at gluten-free bakeries even though I also eat gluten. I eat at vegan restaurants, even though I also eat meat. I value choices above all things. I shop at these specialty stores to help increase demand, which in turn I hope to increase supply, which means more options for everyone.
I wanted to try a variety of items, so I got the following: salted caramel square ($6), blueberry muffin ($4), raspberry brownie ($6), red velvet cream cheese brownie ($7) and a spinach pie ($4).
The spinach pie was shaped like a Fatayer/Lebanese spinach pie, but it was tiny, much smaller than your typical Fatayer. But it was filling since the pastry was dense. There was plenty of spinach inside. It was good, but I prefer the more doughy and fluffy Fatayers. I would definitely recommend it as a good option if you are craving a spinach pie and eating keto, but for me, I'd rather have the regular version, lol.
The red velvet cream cheese brownie though, is another story! This was delicious. Keto or not, this item holds its own. The texture is lovely and it's so tasty. Whether you are on a keto diet or not, I would recommend it. This was by far the best item in my haul.
The blueberry muffin was tasty too. It was moist and had a strong blueberry flavour. I enjoyed it, but it was tiny. Again, not being restricted to a keto diet, I would rather eat a regular blueberry muffin.
The raspberry brownie was also good, albeit a bit on the dry side. Same goes for the salted caramel square, but since this was more shortbread-like, I'm a bit more forgiving of the dryness.
Service was lovely and very welcoming. The inside of the cafe is pretty. It's takeaway only though. There is no place to eat in. The bakery is in a converted old house.
I know keto is trendy now, so if you're looking for keto baked goods, Keyto My Heart Bakery is a great option. If you're just looking to try a new bakery, Keyto My Heart is worth checking out. Just keep in mind that prices might be a bit higher than comparable regular bakeries since they use almond flour and coconut flour which is pricier than wheat flour. And the taste will be denser too. I definitely recommend the red velvet cream cheese brownie!!
Street parking only.
