This cake shop it's a must if you visit Ottawa,, Coffee is ok but the cupcakes it's so yummy soft , fluffy and fresh. You can order different flavors all is good but the most delicious one is the Pumpkin , lemon , peanut butter and definitely the red velvet can't stop Highly recommended.

OMG, they have gluten-free everyone!!! I can hardly believe it! The cupcakes are divine, and the coffee wasn't too shabby either. This location is new, and all of the staff were very bubbly and happy. It was a nice dessert after my lunch next door at The Works.

I don't normally write negative reviews. My experience is based on the four cupcakes in my photo. My wife brought them home from a promotion this store was doing in a mall. They were very light and fluffy but to me that was the problem. It was a like a baking mix from your local grocery store and the icing was just sickly sweet sugar, not cream. What bothers me is the price, at several dollars each! These were not quality to me. I usually avoid this specialized "cupcake" things in favor of a real bakery. This experience re-enforced my notions on this.

Came here on a Tuesday night with my siblings and my friend and we all got something to drink. My sis got a cupcake and I got the chocolate mousse which was AMAZING!! I'm craving it right now as I'm writing this. Can't speak for the cupcake though, maybe next time I'll get to try it....

The one on the pic os coconut. I usually don't like coconut but this one was delicious. The gift box can be bought for $1. Makes a nice gift

What a cool store that I never knew existed! Hungry Ninja sells primarily imported snacks from Asia…read moresuch as chips, candies, and ramen, but they also sell Asian groceries, such as sauces, oils, vinegars, miso, kimchi and the sorts. They have the largest selection of exotic KitKats I've seen here in Ottawa. They sell bags for $6.99, which depending on the flavour have 9-14 mini bars. They also sell individual bars for $0.99 each. So you can try one before committing to an entire bag. They also have a large selection of Kracie Popin' Cooking' DIY candy kits! They are $5.99-$6.99 which is about half the price of places like Sugar Mountain and Sweet Escape Candy Emporium. Sure, you don't get the nostalgic candy store vibe here, but you save $4-$6 per kit. My little nieces are addicted to these kits, so I've scoured the city for these, lol. If you are a mochi-lover, they have a lot of mochi from Japan. Many grocery stores only carry mochi from Taiwan (and specifically the brand Royal Family), so if you want something different, you can check out the variety here. They sell Wong's Ice Cream (from Toronto)! This brand sells Asian-inspired flavours like Vietnamese Coffee, Thai Milk Tea, and Korean Banana Milk. In addition to ice cream, they sell other frozen goods too, like Korean dumplings, croquettes, and Tteokbokki. They have some bubble tea plushies at the back, as well as those happy/sad reversible octopus plushies. Staff pretty much leave you alone to browse. They were efficient at checkout. They are located in a strip mall. There's free parking in the strip mall parking lot. I definitely recommend checking out Hungry Ninja if you like imported Asian snacks :)

Worst customer service ever. I placed multiple orders over the last year, each well over $100. The…read moreshipping alone was 1/3 the cost of the order, however because they have unique items I can't get in my city I had no problem paying for it. When I received the last two orders (both of which were placed in September), I noticed that multiple bags had expiry dates of September and October of the same year. They were meant to be Christmas gifts for the Healthcare Workers at the Hospital where I work, so obviously they would be expired by then. There was no mention of the expiry date online on any of the items I purchased, nor did they mention anything before they sent me the items. The first time I contacted them they told me to send a photo of the items and I would receive a refund. I did this, but then I was told I would have to return the items (and pay for the shipping myself), show them a photo of the receipt and then they would issue me a credit for that amount. ...What??? Why would I have to pay for shipping AGAIN after paying a total of $60 the first time? What kind of business sells edible products that expire within weeks of shipment? This is mind boggling to me. I have told potential customers about my experience and will share this review in the hopes that others don't end up having to go through the same thing when they go to purchase stocking stuffers or Christmas gifts. There is something not right about the fact that this place is selling perishable food items without being transparent about the expiry dates.

I actually find it kinda funny, but for the rest of my review I'll just refer to it as "the store" because I don't want any abuelas upset with me, lol. So the store is a Mexican grocery store. They sell mostly shelf-stable goods, but have a few refrigerated items. They have a good selection of Mexican candies, including 3 different flavours of Pulparindo! They didn't have Extra Hot though :( I love the sweet, sour and spicy flavours of Mexican candies! The candies I looked at all had their "best before" dates in the future, which I liked, and means they have good turnover of merchandise. I find that many international grocery stores have products past their "best before" dates, but I didn't see that at this store. There's a sign in the window that advertises they also sell prepared foods, but no prices. They had lots of dried peppers, and they also had tortillas. Oh and lots of sauces. There are not a lot of Latin American grocery stores in Ottawa, so I'm happy to see this store open up. The store opened in 2021. The owner of the store also owns 2 restaurants nearby: Margarita, and Mona's Taqueria. Staff were friendly and courteous. Street parking only.

Christine, the shop owner, was warm and welcoming right from when we entered her shop. Lollies and Scoops has sooo many different options of treats, both salty and sweet as well as international ones! At the front of the shop, there is a freezer with some frozen treats like Neale's Sweet n' Nice Ice Cream ($3ish, made out of Toronto with yummy Caribbean flavours to choose from). There is also a cold display case housing edible cookie dough (around $5) and some international drinks! Yummm! We picked up a Reese flavoured cookie dough one to try and two drinks. The shop has different categories labelled on the walls to help guide shoppers, such as Old School, International, Salty, etc. There are also fun stuffies, socks, earrings, etc. making this place a whimsical gift shop in addition to being a sweets shop. Their prices are on the higher end, so I wouldn't come to Sugar Mountain to get candy you can easily get elsewhere for cheaper, but for harder to find candies, especially imported ones, their prices are comparable to other stores that sell such items (except for the Asian candies, Asian grocery stores have much better prices). I like to buy British chocolates at Sugar Mountain, like Flake and Curly Wurly. They also have harder to find KitKat flavours, but not the Asian flavours. Recently, they also started carrying those Japanese make your own gummy kits by the company Kracie. They are quite expensive ($10) but so cute. My brother actually bought a Kracie Popin' Cooking' Candy Ramen for his kids to make with me. And it was super fun and they loved it, both the process of making it, and eating it afterwards. This is what started my nieces' love for these kits and now I'm scouring the city for more varieties of these kits, lol. Sugar Mountain is worth checking out if you like candies, especially imported candies. I also love the retro candy store vibe. This location is in the Place d'Orleans Shopping Centre.
