My fav cafe in the city. Delicious treats and great coffee selection. I recommend to all my friends and family

We came here because it was coffee and walking distance from where we were staying. Pleasantly surprised by the decor and tea room. Really cool space, definitely would be great for an afternoon tea. They have an outdoor patio, not that it was being used despite the beautiful day. Pastries and food selection is great. The staff is friendly... but slow and easily distracted. The cashier was taking a phone order while several of us were waiting, pretty unacceptable when another staff member should be able to take a call. We ordered a coffee and a mimosa. Well, they had to go back and check to see if they had juice... they did not. I asked for just the bubbly instead, she had to go back and check again. How do they not know or keep things on their menu in stock? Oh well, they had the bubbly so it was okay. For food we ordered a pastry and a croissant sandwich. The biscotti and pastry were delicious. For some reason, they decided to panini press the croissant sandwich. What the heck, who would do that? Why didn't they ask? Tasty sandwich, but completely ruined due to crushing the croissant. We were expecting it to come straight out of the case and at most maybe microwaved to warm it, not just destroyed in a panini press. Cool vibes, nice atmosphere, food is good, tea menu looks amazing. But, the staff don't seem to have a clue to what they are doing. read more

Very large, cluttered coffee shop with tacky rules printed on a full sheet of paper scattered throughout the entire cafe. I ordered an almond croissant and pumpkin latte. The almond croissant was mediocre. After being warmed up by staff, it lost any flakey taste delicateness that it may have originally had. The pumpkin latte tasted like it was made with bitter, burnt espresso. There was a nice amount of foam and the aftertaste was milder and more palatable. I just moved to Canada and hoped this cafe, which is full of potential, would become my go to. I was disappointed, but plan to come back to give the lunch menu a try. read more

quite busy when I went in due to Mother's Day however the takeout service was some of the worst I've ever seen. Bizarre system of taking order then leaving it on the counter hoping another employee would fill it. Saw one guy who had ordered 20 min ahead of me still did not have his order when I got mine 15 min after I ordered! Over 20 minutes in line just to get to the cash and to then be told I'd have to wait another 15 minutes for them to put 6 little cakes in a box is crazy. To top off the experience I got home and they had screwed up the order and one of the cakes was completely the wrong one. read more

A gem in Barrhaven! We visited on a Saturday morning, it was quiet when arrived at 9am but was getting busy by the time we left. Lots of seating in their beautifully decorated cafe. We sat in a peaceful spot by the window for 2, but they have lots of seating for larger groups as well. We ordered a breakfast sandwich on a croissant, a chocolate croissant, oat cappuccino and a hot chocolate. They have lots of non-dairy options, including oat and soy. The staff was wonderful and made the hot chocolate 'not too hot' for my young daughter. We also took home more breakfast sandwiches (croissant, bagel, and smoked salmon) which were wrapped up with care. We will definitely be returning to sample their large selection of Italian cakes and pastries, for their afternoon tea, and for gelato in the summer! read more

Love small businesses but this cafe could do a little more to stay in the game as a cute n cozy spot. The basic tea and coffee is way overpriced and the bathroom had no tissue. lso training employees on basic math would help, since the one I had today grumbled that the price was more because of the tax" even though it worked out to $1.75 in tax on a $3.75 purchase! Paid it to avoid any issues, and will go elsewhere next time. read more

The servers are amazing and very friendly! The pastries and food items are excellent and always fresh. I love the look and feel, but some chairs and floor are very worn out, probably because of its so many customers. read more

The minute i walked in the door, I zoned in on the lemon blueberry cheesecake. The perfect pairing? A flat white of course. Fluffy, smooth, perfectly balanced flavour. I still dream about that cheesecake. Flat white was also very good. With every bite, and every sip, I turned my head toward the display case that held all the edible treats, mentally making a list of the next thing to try on subsequent visits. And, there will be many. My wife had a maccha latte. It's the best she's ever had - nd being from Montreal he's had MANY. We thanked the staff on our way out and complemented them on everything. So glad that Barrhaven has a spot like this. No need to travel to Preston Street anymore! read more

Well this is a bit of colour and happiness kind of place! So, if you have been to Carmelito's on Preston, you know the drill..... but now think BIGGER!! Much BIGGER!! Lavazza coffee and Sloane tea, could you ask for more!? Lets get on with this review, so, because of the new regulations around COVID, only 6 people are allowed in line but the restaurant section is huge and there is ample seating. On our first visit, we had a Marakesh mint tea and a coffee with oat milk along with 2 marble biscotti. The biscotti was very well made - the perfect amount of crunch and dippability when dunked into the coffee! Even the baby got in on that action and came back for more. The sandwiches and pastries behind the counter looked amazing. I will definitely be going back here. Side note #1: 2 friends of mine had the cannoli and they are addicted to them...... Very cool Parisian Victorian fancy fun tea room. Loved the decor and the coffee was amazing and the desserts too. I ordered an espresso when I really meant a cappuccino and when I asked for more milk, the girl gave me a new cappuccino no charge! That was lovely and very much appreciated. Only problem was we wanted to sit on the patio but there was a group of very loud men speaking very loudly so we had to move into the restaurant. But it was spacious and airy so we were comfortable. read more

Ordered a birthday cake...turned out to be one of the worst cakes we have ever had...took back most of it the next day and asked for the "manager" to contact us...days later I asked again and finally "Claudia" called us back...she suggested there was something wrong with our taste buds and would have to discuss the issue with the baker...she never called back..we tried to follow up several times without success...Worst customer service we have ever experienced... read more
