Vanilla Oreo, lemon raspberry, vanilla vanilla, chocolate strawberry cheesecake, red velvet, and birthday cake
Elizabeth M.

The cupcakes were so delicious and service was great! I got a box of 6 to take home, and chose a variety of flavours. They were light, moist and flavourful, and the icing was perfect! Although I enjoyed trying them all, the lemon raspberry was my favourite - the perfect mix of flavours and I loved the presentation. Perfect for an afternoon snack with coffee or for dessert!

Flat white and pumpkin cookie .... outstanding !!!!!

Great little joint. Just had a couple of coffees and a scone. It was all fantastic. Good value and really nice atmosphere. Will definitely pay a return visit - as in tomorrow. Second visit. Simply great, so this place gets five stars. The baked goods are fresh as in FRESH. It is the little touches like the large glass dispenser of lemon water that set this place apart from the "chains". Also, it is not crowded at all ... plenty of seating. Also, very friendly and courteous staff.

Bold espresso and a vegan/gluten-free cupcake.

The best overall cupcake bakery I have ever been to anywhere. I have visited the most award-winning cupcake bakeries in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, and Washington, DC. Many don't have places to sit and have long lines with pretentious service, and others feature "inventive" flavours that are just mediocre. This place has the full package: delicious cakes (including vegan and gluten-free options), great coffee, plenty of space to sit in a warm, inviting atmosphere, and friendly service. I lived in Ottawa for 25 years, and I am only back once or twice a year to visit nowadays. To see as many friends as possible, I usually just "hang out" at a cafe and have people drop by if they are able. This year, I selected Anabia Cafe as my go-to spot. On a Saturday morning, with no notice, the staff were super accommodating, allowing me to re-arrange the tables and just camp out while about 15 of my friends cycled through the restaurant from 9AM-noon. The deal on day-old cupcakes was also incredible (50% off): I decided to just buy all of the day-olds and feed my friends :). I tried the red velvet and the coconut raspberry personally. The cakes were cooked to perfection and full of flavour, and the icing was sweet and stiff, just as it should be. My friend who tried the vegan/GF mint-chocolate cupcake was also super impressed. The espresso was bold and delicious. The cafe was filled with light, the decor was super cute, and the locals who hang out in the cafe were very friendly. No matter where you're staying in Ottawa, this shop is worth the drive if you are craving good cupcakes! I think on every future trip, I will make this my default hang out spot because of my wonderful experience here.

Amazing coffee and delicious gf cupcake. It's really hard to find a food gf bakery and this one did not disappoint. We were visiting from the states and this place was the cutest little coffee spot!

Really cool space, definitely would be great for an afternoon tea. They have an outdoor patio, not that it was being used despite the beautiful day. Pastries and food selection is great. The staff is friendly... but slow and easily distracted. The cashier was taking a phone order while several of us were waiting, pretty unacceptable when another staff member should be able to take a call. We ordered a coffee and a mimosa. Well, they had to go back and check to see if they had juice... they did not. I asked for just the bubbly instead, she had to go back and check again. How do they not know or keep things on their menu in stock? Oh well, they had the bubbly so it was okay. For food we ordered a pastry and a croissant sandwich. The biscotti and pastry were delicious. For some reason, they decided to panini press the croissant sandwich. What the heck, who would do that? Why didn't they ask? Tasty sandwich, but completely ruined due to crushing the croissant. We were expecting it to come straight out of the case and at most maybe microwaved to warm it, not just destroyed in a panini press. Cool vibes, nice atmosphere, food is good, tea menu looks amazing. But, the staff don't seem to have a clue to what they are doing.

The ambiance struck us as soon as we walked in! It's beautiful in here!! The owner calls this place a Parisian style cafe, and we will have to bear that in mind for next time we visit, as we did not have any food for this visit. Crepes? I love them!! Next time. This time I felt like having a chai latte, $5.99. Others with me ordered an Americano and a decaf with almond milk. Everything was delicious and beautiful!! The service was helpful and informative. Apparently this place opened 8 years ago; what was I waiting for?! I look forward to going back!!

Beautifully decorated with a vintage vibe and lots of shabby-chic pieces. They seem extremely popular and busy even mid-afternoon; jammed-packed the whole time we were there and with a waiting line-up for a table. Gentleman who seemed to be the owner or manager was extremely pleasant and went above and beyond to find us a table quickly (even moving chairs around) after Cousin and I explained that Boyfriend (who was outside parking the car) would never wait for the 30 min announced at first. All the staff there seemed very nice, fast, constantly cleaning, arranging seating, serving, etc. We only had coffees (which were fine but nothing mind blowing) so I cannot judge on the menu. Would recommend this place though, if only for the super hardworking staff!

Presentation was aesthetically pleasing and overall everything was tasty. The grilled salmon was very good. Didn't smell fishy at all and was nicely baked. The chicken breast was a bit on the bland side, but went well with the accompanying sides. The potato wedges were great. They weren't crispy, but we're nicely seasoned. The bean salad was good too, I really liked the green beans in it. The quinoa salad was nice as well. The asparagus was nothing special, but the dill cream sauce it came with was fantastic. The butternut squash soup had a hint of curry in it that made it interesting. The strawberry and cream biscuits were excellent - fresh sliced strawberries with whipped cream inside a vanilla cream scone/biscuit. Easily the best dessert from that spread. The brownies were ok. They were really dense and very sweet. The chocolate chip cookies were filled with so many mini chocolate chips. They were on the hard side and my preference is for chewy cookies, but one of my co-workers had 3 cookies, so if you like the harder and more crumbly type of cookie, I think you'd like these. If I ever find myself in Manotick, I will be sure to check out Take Another Bite, and will probably pick up one of those strawberry and cream biscuits ;)

Our Fajita wraps were soggy, grilling them or toasting it somehow would have made it more enjoyable. My wife's chai latte was made luke warm and when I let the girl working know, she just stuck it in the microwave without offering an option to remake it. Very disappointed I use to love coming here. Most likely won't be coming back.
