NEVER use the ATMs at this location. One of ATM machines ate my card in the evening hours and thankfully I did not leave the location until I had cancelled my card. The next day I went in and saw the ATM working again (on a Saturday) so I asked where my old card was. One of the bank employees actually admonished me for leaving my card behind even though I had just literally explained it had been locked into the ATM. The manager then accused me of yelling (I did no such thing) and they all denied the machine had been broken claiming it was "fine" when they came in that morning. So they basically called me a liar. I then asked to see the camera footage to see who stole my card and to find out when the ATM was magically operating again. They refused and said they didn't know how to access footage and then made up a bunch of lies about how the ATM was, all on its own, mysteriously operational again in the middle of the night. Clearly there is a scam going on that I was hopefully able to side step by canceling my card immediately. Beware that entire operation! read more

Located in the large strip mall that also houses Safeway and Staples. Visited this location twice, with parking being quite a challenge with limited spaces both times. Had the misfortune of initiating membership at this location with Tonia. Avoid at all costs. Had a facial expression that screamed "piss off" the entire visit, before even exchanging greetings -- of which there was none, nary a "Hello", much less a "How may I help you". Condescending and barely looked up from her screen while responding to questions with curt responses, while cutting me off in multiple instances. Complete lack of professional courtesy in proceeding with the account opening -- I felt tempted to invent an excuse just to ask for another rep to continue the process, but for the sake of being impolite, I endured. Had the intention of seeking out some information on wealth management services and an auto loan, but just gave up. Far more pleasant experience with Holy on another occasion. read more

I'm going through the process of a HELOC at KeyPoint which I started online but then needed a LOT of help figuring out what documents I needed, paperwork, how the process works, etc.. So I went to the Milpitas branch at 573 East Calaveras Blvd., Milpitas, CA, 95035. A teller there realized I needed more assistance than she could provide and so she went and got the branch manager, Abel Hernandez. He is awesome. Look up the definition of what Excellent Customer Service is and you may find his photo. I've gone back three times, so far, in the process of this HELOC and he has never even hesitated to wave me into his office to go through progress thus far. He tells me what I need to do next. Makes copies and submits the paperwork I bring. I could not be more impressed. I can't recommend them more highly. Able Hernandez, the branch manager, is flat out great! read more

That being said, I must extend my heartfelt gratitude to the folks at Keypoint Credit Union, especially Manifair Hwang, who opened our accounts initially, and continues to provide, "above and beyond" service. I will spare no accolade, compliment or advocacy to any organization or associate, which strives to meet the needs of Ma Megabyte and I, even if the efforts of the institutional culture may fall short from time to time. As a recently retired Customer Service Professional, I have always maintained, "A customer with a legitimate complaint, even an angry one, can be the best customer one could have, but only if their situation is handled empathetically and professionally." Fix that problem, earn the customer's gratitude for having done so, and they are yours forever. Anyone who is familiar with my reviews should know by now, I don't pull punches. If poor service, indifference, or worse, dishonesty is inflicted upon Ma Megabyte, or myself I will publicly excoriate the miscreants until hell won't have it. Yes, there have been errors made in our dealings with these folks, both human and technical, but the associates here always make great efforts to resolve any difficulty, and always succeed in doing so. Having switched from a pretty good bank we had been patronizing for years, because we were being "fee'd" to death, we found Keypoint to be a refreshing change. I won't detail their program here. One can stop in and meet with them if one is interested. An important aspect of dealing with this institution which one should be aware of, is their mania (I can't describe it otherwise) for security, both on line and otherwise. It does become tiresome having to traverse multiple layers of security, just to speak to a specific representative at a specific office location. It reminds one of the famous "Get Smart" TV series, as well as the recent movie, in which "Maxwell Smart" must walk through multiple automated armored doors to reach the simple phone booth which will allow him access to C.O.N.T.R.O.L, the super secret government agency where he is employed. On line security is just as tight. One must endure being prompted on a regular basis, for answers to "security questions" before being allowed access to one's account, despite having entered a very secure password. On the other hand... In an era when bank accounts are regularly compromised and cleaned out by this new breed of "web bandits" it is comforting to know our account is as inviolate as current technology can assure, from these depredations. Our previous bank was ok in this regard as far as we knew, but we truly know and trust, due to the near draconic security measures this institution employs, we can rest easy. So, Keypoint members who may be inclined to bitch about this, GET OVER IT, and be grateful! Your bucks are safe. And for those individuals contemplating doing business with Keypoint Credit Union, you have been informed, so rejoice, and remember... The line forms to the left! As I close this, I am a tad surprised; I have made fewer than the normal number of attempts to generate laughs through this posting. Apropos, methinks. There has been enough "funny business" perpetrated by bankers and financiers in this country to last for at least a millennia or two. Choosing an institution to handle one's money is a decision which should only be made when one is stone, cold sober, and in an utterly serious frame of mind. I've been a Keypoint customer for about 5 years and it has been a serious pain. Their website looks like it was last updated in 1995 and usually results in me having to call and stay on hold for ever before being accidently hung up on. Their customer service is friendly but they can do absolutely nothing for you. They have a lot of strict, nonsensical policies that make them very difficult to deal with. Recently, it took me a month to get a PIN number for my debit card because of all of the additional security. They offer to reimburse you for atm charges, but you have to manually enter the atm charge on their website and the page to do so is virtually hidden. There is also a $1000 per day spending limit on credit purchases that sometimes feels like I am begging Keypoint for the privilege of spending my own money. At this moment, I am at a hotel in Brazil and I can't pay my bill because there is some other weird issue with my Keypoint card. The rep I spoke to was friendly enough, but as usual, has no idea why the card won't work and can't check because, guess what, the system is in maintenance. Anyway, I'm changing banks as soon as I can. read more

So now that we do almost all of our banking here, I'm probably at Keypoint atleast once a week. And I enjoy it every time. So yes, the security there is pretty stringent. They have this horrible scanner that all the checks have to go through so that everything balances correctly. The stupid scanner has a hard time with my checks since they are all different sizes. But I think it's funny how each teller has a different way of doing things, and some are faster than others (I won't mention names...). But I always have something interesting to talk about with each of them. I just think they are all such nice people. And nice people deserve to be praised! read more

I have my car loan through KeyPoint, and while I have not experienced anything traumatizing (yet, crossing fingers) there are some pros and cons to this location. Pros: Friendly service, new interior. I'm always receiving emails about promotions or refinancing options. I feel like information is easily accessible. Cons: there are only one or two tellers working at a time, and they are kind of slow. The music that is played creates a dreary atmosphere, and I think it affects that employees (they're kinda slow and they speak softly.. All of them.. is this the environment they're trying to create?) Lastly, parking directly in front fills fast, I usually have to walk over from Safeway. Pro: Constant communication about their services. Offers to refinance, add additional services, etc. Cons: This specific location is soooooooo dead. read more

Parking is a challenge but it's not their fault. Went to deposit a "cashiers check" into an account only to be told that they will put a 2 day hold on it? Whattt? It's a damn cashiers check aka cash!!! This was the first as every other bank makes the funds available to be used right away. I don't even bank here but I don't think I ever will as I was considering opening an account at a credit union. I am sure they are not all the same but this sucks. Today I walked in to get a replacement card since I had lost my previous one and this branch was close to my job. Once arriving I was greeted immediately by Eric and I was a bit surprised but glad he was at this branch! He would normally help me out in the Santa Clara branch but I was told that he was not working there anymore and stopped going to that particular one. Once I noticed and recognized him we started chatting. We were also able to get my card replace really fast. I'm glad Eric is back at KeyPoint and I'll definitely be coming to this branch more often. read more

This branch was better when I joined KeyPointCU in 2011 but not anymore. I went on Saturday morning and didn't see anyone smiling or greeting for almost 30 minutes. They give you rude professional answers and aren't willing to help until and unless you ask very specific question. I think they are all underpaid or unhappy with their jobs. Please visit the Brokaw branch and you will be glad to meet their wonderful staff. Also, parking is pain in the as* at this location. You will find a queue mostly and previous knowledgeable staff is gone, I don't see anyone from them anymore. read more

KeyPoint Credit Union is great! All the employees are terrific and sooo pleasant! I know most of them because they're so friendly and personable. Alie is always so helpful and is ready to answer any questions I have. I have a checking account here, and it's great because I get ATM rebates. I never have to worry about going to a cash only restaurant because I get those ATM fees reimbursed anyway. I have referred many friends and family here because they have the Target promo. Refer a friend and you both get a $25 Target gift card. They are no longer having that promo, but I would still refer my friends anyway for their great service! read more

I simply cannot sign on to their online banking system, after spending a couple hours on the phone and their online chat trying to get help. I need a system that works and can't afford to keep taking hours off my workday to try to get this to work. The online chat person was useless. I don't have this problem with any other sites.
