I'm not a member of Provident Credit Union. However, I had the most efficient, positive, and smooth transaction selling my vehicle with a seller who banks at PCU. We met up at this particular location and I don't think I've ever had a more pleasant experience at a credit union, specifically because of Nancy. She was so kind, helpful, and skilled and made the transaction between me and the seller easy peasy. I highly recommend this branch because of Nancy and I hope she gets all the recognition and praise in the world. Also, this particular PCU was tucked in a very peaceful plaza that felt safe (and had ample parking spaces). There was a security guard in the parking lot ensuring there wasn't any shenanigans/funky business taking place. Kudos to this Provident Credit Union and cheers to Nancy! read more

I had a great experience with Nasreen Abbasi at Provident Credit Union's North San Jose branch. She was very helpful and supportive throughout my auto loan process and helped me get the financing I needed to buy my car. I truly appreciate her time, effort, and excellent customer service. Thank you, Nasreen, for all your help! I highly recommend working with her. read more

Horrible customer service at their tellers and online. I went in to get a name change and the teller acted like I was committing fraud. I had to get the bank manager as he was too busy scrolling trying to figure out how to help me or not help me. Their Website is always having issues! Here's an updated example of how they prevent you from getting your own money as I linked another bank and did their verification and now they say I did not verify and they will claim it's your computer. read more

They have some nice bankers and tellers at this branch. Unfortunately, their staff is also not very confident about informing locals about the options to use their services. The visits we seen during randoms were okay: the staff is informative, and helpful, but their system needs work. They need someone local who have been in this region more than several decades in order for this new bank to not piss off the people who built San Jose before Silicon Valley existed. read more

Stay Away! The corporate Provident CU card service is a sham; Customer service wait time is 90 minutes or more as usual; No sufficient knowledge to resolve a online fraudulent transaction since managers are all ghosting customer! Kevin McHall ( AVP) was the worst ghosting operations that absence of management and escaping responsibility then outsourcing to lousy subcontractor ( Velera LLC/ FL. ) to pass the bucket. I spent 5 weeks to get first card, then being victim-blamed of unauthorized fraudulent transactions....Unimproved or failed operation will drain your energy to .....no-return. read more

Poorly managed and inconsistent service. Arbitrary policies. I went to the Sunnyvale branch to open a new business account. We had an appointment. The business is a California LLC that owns a commercial building and collects rent from tenants. We had to wait for the appointment (it didn't start on time) and went through the process of opening the account. After about 30 minutes, we were asked what the business did. He told us "sorry, we don't open business acounts for 'real estate' businesses" and could not open our account. Out of curiosity, we called customer service and asked if they could open a business account for a business that owns a commercial building, collects rent, and maintains the building. The woman who handled the customer service call--after putting me on hold for about 5 minutes to check--said there's no problem. I told her I was just at the branch in Sunnyvale and they said they couldn't do it. She didn't give an explanation, she just said "well, if that's what the branch says, that must be the rule." (Why, then, did she tell me it was fine?) There's no way to start an application on-line for a business account, and they don't have a list of "allowed business types" on their website, so the only way you can find out is by making an appointment and wasting your time. Two people had to drive to their office, wait 40 minutes, only to be sent away. This is unacceptable. They also won't issue business credit cards for new businesses. Other banks will do this, as long as you're willing to personally guarantee the debt and you have a good credit score. Do not do business with Provident CU. read more

I have been a member for a few years and love Provident Credit Union, as they offer wonderful extra benefits with their checking accounts, such as free money orders and cashier checks. I mainly use the branch located at 1757 Technology Dr #10, San Jose, CA 95110. The branch manager Nasreen, as well as all the staff are so wonderful and helpful. I didn't knew there was a Provident Credit Union location near Brokaw so I booked an appointment online. The day of appointment, I was introduced to Allen. He was very nice and knowledgeable. He gave me and my wife a breakdown of the different payment plans and interest rates. We provided all of the required documentations. Within the same day or next day. You would receive your loan application preapproved. He gave great helpful tips on preparing to shop for a new vehicle. Especially. all of the warning signs from the car salesman. If my wife and I have any questions, he would take the time to respond asap. Also, he speaks TAGALOG so can help his Filipino clients too! Provident Credit Union is the GO TO for applying on an auto loan. read more

I went in for an auto loan and had my expectations exceeded. Ruchi is an amazing help and she made sure I got a good rate and explained everything to me. I've had my account open for about 2 months now. I opened it because we had sold our house and figured we'd rather have our money in a local credit union than a big bank. Now 2 Months in, I can't believe I'm saying it, but big banking was better. The online banking system doesn't recognize my info, so I can't even get it set up. I tried calling in - no luck. I went into the Palo Alto branch in person, they couldn't help but they made an appointment for me. That got cancelled and not rescheduled, and I haven't had the time to deal with it, so yeah that sucks. On two occasions now, my debit card has been cancelled for no good reason. The first was getting gas here locally in Silicon Valley. I was stranded for about an hour until I could get it working again through their automated text system. The second time I was travelling, and again getting gas. I was off the grid in a little town so I just had my partner pay, but I didn't know my card was blocked. I just figured it was an issue with their reader, and I didn't get any notification through their text system. Tonight, went out to eat with some friends, whom I owed a dinner. My card was blocked, and I spent an hour on hold talking to 3 different people before I got it working again, plus a ton of embarrassment. I'm planning to pull all of my money back out on Monday, after unfortunately getting chased back to the big banks. IDK if they're just better equipped on the technology front, but it makes for a better user experience. read more

So we were referred to Allen Agol at Provident credit union North Branch @ Technology Dr. I cannot express howuch Allen helped us with our car loan. We had a horrible experience w/ the dealership, and Allen guided us thru the bumpy road. He was so patience and was so attentive to details. If it wouldnt of been for Allen we would of had been tricked into financing with dealership with high rates ect... Allen is an "Angel sent from Heaven". I was a customer going in to make a deposit. I asked if I could use an outlet to charge my phone, and the Teller told me to Starbucks next-door. There was an Indian lady sitting in an office and all she did was stare at me, pointed, and did not get out of her chair to help. What kind of customer service is that? Obviously Ivan Was not there should show them what Customer Service meant. I was on my way to the airport, and if It's not important, I would not have asked. I have always enjoyed coming into this office in the past, where their customer service was great, but NOT today. read more

I am a happy first time home buyer customer because of this location's amazing staff members. Home buying process isn't that simple, specially at this market but Nasreen Abbasi (branch manager) made the impossible to possible for me and my family. Nasreen was very professional, knowledgeable, very kind and thoughtful about everything. She guide us through the whole process starting from opening an account with the branch, all the way to applying for the home loan. Even at times when we were tired and hopeless she was there to lift our spirits and guide us through the rough time. I have never experienced an amazing service such as this from any banks in my entire life; even from my business banks. I just want to thank her publicly for her hard work she put in for the banks and for being there for customers in general. Also the process got even much easier when we started submitting our documents with Norm, he was just an amazing individual. He is very professional, super knowledgeable. I am saying this from my own experience. If you follow his direction and have some patience you will NOT be disappointed at all. He was quick to response, and went above and beyond to make sure we are getting our loan in time. I do appreciate the little details and great customer service. I've had some very bad experiences with banks in the past, so I was a bit hesitant to work with someone new. however it was my first time purchasing a home on my own. I was scared and feared the entire process. This quickly went away once I started working with Norm and Nasreen, they eased all my worries. Overall this was a smooth purchase and so happy I used them to purchase my home. I'm very grateful and I can say that I've found my team! Thank you so much and you guys are the real MVP including Mr. Robert and Jennifer!!! read more

This review is for Ivan Lee. To start things off I just want to say his Customer service and professionalism is amazing. He is very attentive, and educated in his expertise. He helped me get approved for a car loan and was there to answer and help with anything I needed to know, he was there every step of way, and even when I was at the dealership(First time purchasing a car). Ivan even got my girlfriend and I approved for a new credit card line as well. Everything went so smoothly. If you're looking for fast, and trustworthy banker, Ivan Lee is your guy! This location is hidden behind huge industrial buildings and the M8trix Casino. It can be found in the cracks of Starbucks, a Japanese restaurant, a bagel shop, and Jalapenos, a Mexican restaurant. There's plenty of parking, which is a plus. I was lured into joining a credit union because of their No Fee's on certain ATM machines. Imagine all the change, I mean money, I'll be saving! I was greeted immediately by the teller, assistant manager, banker, and branch manager. There was one other customer in there at the time. I definitely felt welcomed because of there attentive customer service. The location was clean and well managed. I came in to open a checking and savings and both the assistant manager Nicole, and banker Patrick were extremely helpful and explaining all the benefits to me. I really liked the little PCU booklet they gave me with helpful hints and ATM's that I won't get charged for. I was set up with online banking, direct deposit, the whole 9 yards. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with great staff. I do not get this kind of service at other banks. The customer service has me coming back for sure. Oh and their high interest rate for the checking account of course. OH WAIT, but there's also member only discounts on certain attractions! Big Plus for me joining Provident credit union! read more

It caught my attention how awesome Provident Credit Union is with their NO FEE charge on a lot of the ATMs, including 7/11 which of course is 24 hours, plus I'm always there lol. AND they gave me a $100 for free when I checked in on Yelp!! :D So I recently opened up an account here with one of their bankers (Patrick). He was professional and knowledgeable on what PCU has to offer. Anyway, the place itself seemed quiet and clean but small compared to Wells Fargo or BofA. But beats all the hidden fees....WIN. :D read more
