However recently this has been the worst location to go to. There is never any money in the ATM after hours for the one outside. Worse branch ever. They don't even deserve this one star.. they deserve a big fat stinky pile of dog poop. At around 12-1pm on August 6, 2022, I went to Chase bank on 2199 Monterey hwy. #30 San Jose CA 95125 to do 2 things: 1/ pick up Euros that I bought on July 27, 2022 and paid 100% 2/ Ask for the euro exchange rate. The Teller at chase said that to check the exchange rate, I need to enter my debit card and PIN. I did what the teller asked. After knowing the exchange rate, I decided not to exchange any more and went home. About 2-3 hours later. I found out my chase bank checking only has $1 left. As soon as I saw that I called chase customer service to report that I didn't make any withdraws. They said that the amount was still pending so they were unable to assist any further. On August 9th 2022, the transaction receipt says at 1:01pm August 6th 2022 the amount was withdrawn at the teller(ewithdraw). During that time I was there but I am 100% sure I never requested to withdraw any money. The teller said they were unable to help and for me to call claims department. We(My husband and I) made a claim on August 9th 2022. Claims department said to wait 3-5 business to receive an email or mail. 5 business days later we did not receive any mail or email. We had to call again to find out they have denied our claim. They advised us to go back to the branch to speak to the general manager to solve our case. We went to the bank at 2pm to speak to the GM but was told by the teller that he was too busy doing something in the back and he had a meeting at 3. The teller asked us to give our contact information and she would email the manager our contact information so he could contact us the following day to set up an appointment for us to come in and sit down to work on my case. Forward to the next day. I waited until past 3pm and not a single call. I was fed up so I went back to the branch. I walked in and I see the manager just talking to an employee. I ask to speak with him. I asked if they would be able to check the camera but the manager said he was unable too. He said the only way to check is to do a police report and have the police come down and check the cameras or go to court. This case has been going on for almost 2 weeks and has made me very stressed. I'd have to leave work early just to go to the bank. They're no help at all. I scheduled a in person appointment to open a high school account for my son at chase bank located at the plant. Our appointment was scheduled to see Sabrina. Sabrina greeted us with a beautiful smile and a "welcome". I want to take a moment to praise Sabrina for her professionalism, knowledge, and taking into consideration I was limited on time for this appointment. She explained everything in full detail to my son and I, walked him through the app options, and was very sweet and patient through it all. She also made sure we were out quick due to me having an 8 month old waiting for me at home. Sabrina thank you for everything. This was by far the easiest most pleasant bank visit I have ever experienced. I hope your boss realizes how lucky he/she is to have someone like you. Horrible way to start my Saturday. Went to this Chase location because it was closest. Andrew was the teller and treated me with pleasant energy and stayed positive with me the whole time. Needed to withdraw a significant amount for home renovations and he needed an override. That's when things took a turn for the worst. Manager, Dima Oksenkrug approached and never even looked at me. He proceeded to click through my account after several minutes I asked him what the process of overriding was and he said "I don't have to tell you what I'm doing", I then asked if what he was doing was standard and again never meeting my eye contact he said "yes, and standard in the banking industry by the way" in the rudest tone I've ever experienced from someone who should be serving the customer. From there I asked how much longer and he said " if you don't like this service you can go to another branch" to which I responded, I would like the transaction completed where I was. He went on to click through my account for approx 2 more minutes then walked away and promptly greeted the while male at the teller next to me with a "hello, how are you" and made direct contact with a smile. I then said "funny I didn't get a hello how are you and eye contact, must be the color of my skin". He got extremely red in the face and combated back with "no it's your attitude". Interesting thing is the greeting would have come first before any correspondence so there wouldn't have been any "attitude" and shouldn't the Manager of a customer service oriented facility greet and treat everyone the same? Some tellers are friendlier than others, but they're all decent on the customer service end of things. They usually have multiple tellers working on days that they know are going to be busy, so deposits/withdrawals are done quickly and efficiently. I've never had an issue that couldn't be solved, but I also never dealt with the manager. Jose was by far my favorite teller. Always very pleasant, easy to chit-chat with, and very fast... Worse bank ever to have. I went through a good friend to set up my acct 5 years ago. After it just got worse and worse. Customer service sucks and rude. Call in to dispute a charge that was caused by their customer service false info to me. I did a bill paid monthly for my rent. I unknowingly set up two (2) bill payments each month for 3 months. So I stop the bill payment and kept the money order that was sent to me for the rent. I didn't redeposit it because I didn't want to spend the money. The last check/money order was 90 days old and the money got redeposit into my act. I got the notice and called Chase immediately before turning in the check to my landlord. To see if I need to request a new one or the one I have is still valid. The gal on the phone told me, "If I have the sufficient fund in my bank account the check/money order will clear." I repeat myself, "Are you sure? Even if it is EXPIRED and the money is re-deposited in my about?" she reassures me, "Yes, as long as I have sufficient funds. It will clear. I do not need to get a new money order." long story short I had to jump through hoops got bash on and call stupid. Still didn't credit me back my money. Their own employees at the branch wetness the whole ordeal and we're very nice and apologize to me for my encounter. The two ladies there try again to help me dispute the $150 for late charges and bounce check my landlord charge me for that money order that their employee reassures me that will clear. I was very upset. So I try to close all my acct with them. But end up only Closing my business account because I was waiting for my tax refund and didn't want to miss it again. A few months have passed. I lost my job due to this pandemic and didn't have enough funds in my chase bank for 3 days in May because I did not have the direct deposit anymore due to the lost of my job and was charged a $12 service fee. I called in to chase and again the worse customer service ever. I am withdrawing all my money from this bank as we speak. BE CAREFUL this bank charge hidden fees. I love banking at Chase, however I hate this location.. and whats worse? Its the one closest to where I live. The parking here is terrible, the employees here are slow and have no respect for your time. The other day I sat there for over 20 minutes waiting to speak to a personal banker..and no luck. Everyone kept walking by saying that someone would be right with me. No one ever came... so I got up and left. I was honestly really upset because there were like 5 people walking back and forth not helping any customers. I understand that they may be doing other work related things, but when there are customers waiting they should really stop what they are doing and help the people who are waiting. Just like all Chase banks the service is great! Unfortunately this location gets a star knocked off because the parking is a nightmare. They have 3 Atm's,2 inside and 1 outside and always a speedy line. The bankers are always professional and inform you someone will be right with you. This experience is the first time in my life. I went to the branch today for some transactions and there is some misunderstanding with the teller. I told her that I need to speak with the branch manager and she made me wait, then she came back to ask for my ID to give to the her manager, then 5' later a policeman came over to talk with me about the mistake. After everything is cleared and verified, he came out and said that I can not withdraw the money in my own account and have to wait crime the mail. What a such humiliate !!! His name is Jose ( I didn't get his last name) Couldn't he talk to me about the misunderstand issue so that he had to call a police man to talk to me, or my English is not good enough for him to explain. I went to withdrawal all my fund and close my account. The guy manager charged me $8 for cashier check. I don't want to pay their cashier check fee. I told him that he can pay me cash. He told me that I have to wait 5 days for cash since it's large sum. Since the bank can't pay me cash until 5 days later, they can not mail me the check, the only way to close my account is paying them the bank fee to get my money back. That's not right. I had withdraw money from other banks, no bank charges cashier check fee while the bank can't pay the customer that day. read more

When I went to get change they asked for I.D i said i didnt have it. When i asked why they said cause they havent seen me before. WARNING DO NOT GO TO THIS BRANCH!!!!!! If I could I'd give half a star! OK so here is my story: Feb 29th my husband walks in close to closing time filled out a deposit slip goes to the teller. The teller does her thing asks him about his writing for clarification and for $1000.00 CASH deposit! She tells my husband give it 24hrs it will be in your account. So off he goes. Next business day we check our account NOT IN THERE! Give it another day maybe the system malfunctioned whatevs. NOT IN OUR ACCOUNT EITHER! So we go into the branch and this is what happened: waited to be helped by one of the guys with a desk. He looked all scared and nervous. Checking here clicking there. And he says I can't find anything. So I ask where is my deposit slip? No answer. So he goes to the branch manager brings him over. We are introduced and he hands us over to another guy who sits behind a desk. He gets our information tries whatever behind his desk then goes to check on a tellers computer. Come back and says there was only two people that deposited that amount and you are not one of them. So we ask to review the cameras and they said no because we need a cop present. So I asked there's nothing a manager can do? Where's my deposit slip? He said they cand find it. I asked where do you archive? He said I already checked all of them can't find nothing. So I said that is impossible to look through all hard copies of deposit slips in 20 minutes of waiting. So we stormed out. I call the 800 number they said they are going to do everything they can to find my money give them 48 hours and they will call me back. LIES!!!! They called me within 12 hrs saying there is nothing they can do. I need to go back to the branch that screwed us over in the first place. So we go back and now the second guy we talked to is doing his thing. I asked OK how come you could do this last time. He said I can't step on my branch managers toes. Since he isn't here I'm going to do whatever I can to help. So eventually he called the people who take care of the video cameras. They said give us 48 hrs to get the footage. So the guy took our information down, email and phone number down. Haven't heard from them in 1 week! We call the branch guy AGAIN and he said oh I called a 208 area code number since it was incorrect we thought you just gave up. We said he'll no! So he said that my husband was never there and that he wasn't on the footage. So we said why didn't you call my updated phone number that I saw you write down. No answer the only answer we got was sorry but your not on the cameras. I don't believe them because they all seemed fishy to begin with in the first place. Always throwing it in our face for not having a receipt. When I know for a fact a business has back ups for back ups. So THIS BRANCH STOLE MONEY FROM US AND MADE BOTH MY HUSBAND AND I FEEL LIKE THEY DIDNT CARE AT ALL. THE BRANCH MANAGER POOF GONE! THE TELLERS NO EYE CONTACT! NOT WANTING TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS AND ITS TWO WEEKS OF HARD EARNED MONEY VANISHED BECAUSE THESE GUYS DIDNT WANT TO HELP AT ALL!!!
