WOW! Didn't know I would be writing this review because I didn't even want the service, nor did they do any, but here we are! I literally just called because I wanted to know the price of a new car key. That's it. I made that very clear with the first guy I was talking too. Yet he was asking me for the make of my car model, my phone number and my address. I was thinking that it was only for reference in case if I did book an appointment. I tried asking him the price of a new car key, and he said he had no idea. I asked him if he could give me an estimated number, and he said that if he guessed a price it would be lying, so I'd have to talk to the second guy about it. Alright, totally fine! Well, second guy calls. Again, I tried to make it clear I just wanted to know the price of a new key. There were some times when I couldn't understand him, and there was one time when he asked something with "would you like it tonight?" I said yes, thinking he was talking about the price. He said he'd call me back in 15 minutes. Well WHAT DO YOU KNOW! 15 minutes later, he texts saying he's at the front. Wait, he's at the front? He literally CAME OVER to my house! I did NOT ask for that. I NEVER wanted that. All I wanted to know was the price of a new car key. I texted him this, and he tells me it would be $185-200. Okay... that's all I wanted to know! I told him that I wouldn't be willing to pay that price, so I asked him to leave. He didn't reply back. I thought it would be over, but this morning I wake up to someone ringing my phone. It's the guy that came over last night. I ignore and block, because I do not want to talk anymore. Then the first guy I talked to last night calls. Ugh, ignore and block! Then a THIRD number calls. Are you kidding me? IS IT NOT CLEAR THAT I DO NOT WANT TO TALK TO YOU?!?! 3 numbers? You can not be serious... At this point, I think this should be considered harassment. I don't know what it is that you want but I'm done talking to you guys. And NO, I'm NOT paying for anything. Y'all didn't even do service on me, and I didn't want you to come to my house in the first place. Your wasted gas is YOUR problem. I'm shocked that this service has a high rating. I'm dropping a 1 star on this, and hopefully after reading my review you could think twice before even CALLING these people... For me, I feel unsafe, knowing these people have my number and address (which I stupidly gave, guess you could label that as my fault). Welp, I'll just add that to my list of the many reasons why I have to carry pepper spray... P.S. There are cameras everywhere on our street, and we DO carry, so if you're planning on something because you've got our address, don't even think about it... read more

I paid over $300 to have a key fob copy made here. I got the key back with the programming done didn't realize at the time that Dave from Key4U San Diego didn't cut the mechanical key. Later on when I noticed I asked if Key4U would cut the key like should've been done the first time thinking it was just an oversight and was told they would only do it as if I was paying for another key to be cut which would be over $400 for a key copy, way too much! I was disappointed in their service and that they don't seem to care about doing the job right but just want to take your money. read more

Had a bonfire last night, came back home around midnight extremely tired which resulted in me locking my keys in my trunk in the midst of unloading bonfire stuff. With having work at noon the next day, I quickly contacted a few companies to get an estimate. Key 4 U was the first one who responded straight to the point. Gave a flat rate and provided times available to be helped. David called me and within 25 min arrived to my house, unlocked my car within 2 minutes and even helped me pick up my grill bowl that fell onto the floor. BEWARE THE OLD BAIT AND SWITCH! My old Schlage locks needed to be replaced on my front and back doors. I called Key 4 U and they sent Jobani to install new locks. He assured me they were all Schlage locks. After a couple of weeks the deadbolt lock started to stick and one of the other locks started opening too easily. I thought these can't be Schlage because they appear to be very cheap locks. I took a close look at the name on the locks and sure enough, they're not Schlage, they're Defiant. Defiant deadbolt and doorknob sets sell for under $20 at Home Depot. I thought I was paying $265 for Schlage locks. Fast talking Jobani pulled the old bait and switch game. I called and spoke with a manager who was the most arrogant person I have ever spoken with. He refused to take any responsibility and kept insisting I was wrong. No wonder they have such lousy feedback. P.S. After the locks were installed, Jobani asked me to give him a 5-star review which I did. It was before I realized I had been ripped off. I made my appointment with them on Monday night for Tuesday morning and was quoted 165-210. Then as the technician is making my key he confirms the price but over hears me tell my friend that I thought it was going to be more like 300. He then sudden ups the price to 320. Ten seconds after confirming the price. He then goes on to say that it would be 320 for two keys. I said that I only wanted one and he said well I'm already cutting both. So it'll be 300. I called the number to get and itemized receipt and was told that they charge 1300 for a Range Rover key. I don't know how that's supposed to be helpful to me. My car is a 2004 truck with a regular key no fob no nothing. They refused to give me a receipt. I will be contacting the better business bureau. read more

Have a newer car with a keyless fob that shouldn't be able to be locked into car but unknown to me could happen if the battery gets low. Key got locked in car, with phone & dog! cause my phone was locked in car couldn't call anyone to bring a spear key. Walked to local business that found that them on google & called them for me & he was there in 9 mins & took less then a minute to unlock car. cost around $70. deff worth it for solving a terrible situation in under 15mins. read more

Astronomical prices! The locksmith was super kind, but charged us $255 for a 10 minute key extraction. Noble Locksmith charges $90 for the same service so I wish I had called them instead! read more

When I purchased my car , it only came with one key & it looked like a dog used it as a chew toy! Lol so I called a few locksmiths but KEY4U me the cheapest price out of all the locksmiths in the area by far, so I decided to use their company to get my key fob made. I had no idea they COME TO YOU! & theyre STILL the most affordable! Lol. They got to my house in less than 10 minutes, found the right key for my car & had it programmed in less than 10 minutes. I contracted them for a new key FOB because I lost mine. Instead of towing my car to the dealership I figured a I would give this company a chance. HUGE MISTAKE!!! First they didn't have the right key. Then they tried to resolve it by having one key to turn on my push to start car and then a separate key to unlock my doors. Keep in mind the key fob should be able to do both. Then after 3 days the key FOB does not work and not be the technician is dodging phone calls and saying he will show up but then never does. Now I have missed out on 2 days of work waiting for him. He finally showed up with the right key but now the key is not working properly and he tried to charge me 745.00 for the fob and the key he made. This company is a rip off. Take it to the dealership and save your time and get it done right without being taken advantage of. I still have not gotten my key fixed and jimmy is still not responding. The mangers are useless and don't care seeing that the technician is all contracted out. So good luck trying to get anything resolved right away. read more

I locked my key in my trunk at the car wash, and my car doesn't have a trunk release button. In short, technician came, couldn't finish rekeying the front door within 2 hours. Scratched the freshly painted white door and got it messy with some black lubricant. When I told him that he is taking way more time than he initially told me(1 hour the most), he got aggressive. End up saying good bye to that messy business and went the other route. Wow. Sent an email at 4:30, tech Dan arrived at 6:00. Happily he was able to adjust my front door lock for a very reasonable fee and was gone by 6:20. I wish everything in my life was that easy!!!! read more
