This place is awful. I just paid for a spa a pedicure with callus remover and my feet look like this! Plus the callus on my right big toe wasn't removed. I pointed it out to the lady and she tells me it's too big of a callus and they can't remove it. I ask her to use the machine because my nails are freshly polished and she does and then puts oil on it, but it's still there. Then, I ask to use the machine myself and they let me. I use it for a few minutes and it's better. I was pretty irrittated at this point and just wanted to leave. Then I touch my legs and this womaan had put oil on my legs and not rubbed it in on the back of my legs, so there is oil dripping down the back of my legs. Do not go here. Horrible service !! Kathy Bich Tran was the worst ! She kept going in and out and pretending like she was on her personal cell phone. When the screen wasn't even on a phone call.. my nails were so skinny and I started bleeding like three times from how rough she was. She filled down to my nails practicely ! Loved my pedicure lady but manicure was the worst I've ever had ! She even had me talk to a customer that was calling on the work phone. & tell her hay they couldn't take a person in a wheelchair.. it was discrimination ! THIS PLACE SHOUD BE SHUT DOWN!! & BBB REPORTED! I usually go to my nail place in Whittier (by my job) however I live in Carson and it was a Saturday so I found this place by my house and decided to try it. 1. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Let me just say I have never in my life STOPPPED anyone from doing my toes because I was in pain, but this guy right here, went in as if he was digging for gold and couldn't find it! I literally had to put my hand by his eye sight so he can see me and tell him to STOP. I almost cried because was in so much pain, my toe was bleeding and my feet were wet. He didn't even bother to give me a towel to dry my feet, just basically threw my sandals at me! I left there with a bloody toe and wet feet. Then he has the nerve to try to yell at me for not allowing him to finish, that he told me "he was going to take it out" (even though before this appt. I was not in PAIN) 2. They don't sanitize their tools!!, as I waited there for 20 mins with my daughter for a pedicure, they took in 3 people for pedicures and kept using the same tools as if it was nothing. 3. They barely even bothered RINSING out the tubs for the feet, you can almost even feel it gooey when you put you feet in. 4. My daughter was getting a small manicure with the same guy who was doing my feet and on her small nails he used the sander machine thing, on her nails, I should have realized at that point to RUN! I will NEVER go to this place again, he also charged me for my daughters polish $8, I gave him $5 main reason was because it was a horrible job, by the next day 4 of her nails had NO polish on them! I know the owner Kevin was not there because I over heard another customer asking for him and they mentioned he was on vacation. I will never trust shop again! It should be absolutely SHUT DOWN! I'm sorry, but I cannot, in good confidence give this nail salon a good review. I have been here over 5 times and every single time I have experienced the same thing. 1. They will overcharge you for every single thing. AND they will do a crappy job while doing it. 2. Kathy takes no pride in the way she does nails. She rushes, she does a lazy job and she leaves bumps in your nails. She doesn't even paint nails well. But she'll ask you time and time again if you want upgrades. LOL!!! What?!?! PS: My nails have broken within a day or two of me leaving there a couple of times. It's horrible. Another thing, SHE'S ROUGH!!!!!!!!! Ouch. 3. The man that does nails there does a pretty solid job. However, his attitude and "bedside manner" is the worst. He doesn't speak to you. He gets frustrated easily with the smallest requests, and he has even gotten into a full-on shouting match with Kathy while customers were receiving services in the salon. The last time I was there, he used the drill on my nails, but he went up a bit and went on my cuticles. OMG, this caused my cuticles to start to shred and lift up a lot. This was so painful and took weeks to heal. 4. I have watched them give people the WRONG COLOR over and over again. This causes customers to get very upset and that's not a great example of good customer service. 5. They are greedy. On several occasions with me and others, they will begin working on your nails and once another new customer comes in - they will stop working on your nails to "get started" on their nails to keep them in the salon and get more money. Instead of taking appointments and asking people to wait just a bit, they will instead stop on their current customer to begin on another customer and waste their time. SMH Your time will be wasted. There is a lot I could say about Kevin's Nails... 1.They are rude beyond belief. The last time I made the mistake in going to Kevin's, I walked in the salon and found myself looking at employees who looked at me then looked away to continue with their conversation in the back. Once someone finally did get to me, I sat down and as the lady was putting my French tips, even though I asked for regular acrylic (I had never seen the white French tip so I didn't know the difference) proceeded to talk on her cell phone ! 2.Kevin's is ridiculously over priced! As I tried to explain that I asked for acrylic nails with white nail polish NOT white French tip acrylic nails, the employee that did my nails tried to charge me $30 and an extra $5 to fix her mistake ! It was ridiculous. 3.Incompetent employees with no skill. At this point I began to cry because as I looked at the "clear" coating she had put on my nails, I began noticing as it dried it had taken on a blue-ish tint around my cuticle. I pointed this out to her and she not only denied it but even gave me attitude claiming this is what I asked for. I began staring more and more and started to realize how crooked and uneven in length my nails were. It sum, my experience at Kevin's was horrendous. The point also being I DESPISE Kevin's Nails. I went to get a mani & pedi today (12/01/2013) and let me just say there is not a chance in HELL that I will go back to Kevin's Nails! Kevin barely acknowledged me, I had to get his attention twice & he wasn't even busy. The lady who did my mani did a horrible job; my cuticles are not clear & I asked for clear nail polish which has started to peel off & it's only been 5-6 hours since I got the "mani"! Also, the lady that did my mani was very rude! "You want eyebrows waxed?" I told her no thank you then she told me, "I do for you. You need it!" Which I didn't. I just got them done somewhere else, she just wanted me to pay more money! Not happening. The ONLY good thing about my visit today is the woman who did my pedi was very professional & did an awesome job! But overall, 1 star! They really suck, the pedi water was cold as ice. They service sucks ! I was there for almost 3 hours, their colors never come out right ! The gel dryer doesn't work, and on top of that I left with no paint on my nails because people who had just left, were coming back in to get a fix because she gave them the wrong color. I went to this place for the first time on Saturday. This place was suggested me by a friend. Really friendly atmosphere with nice decor. The service that I received is unmatched. I was greeted by Kathy. She was so nice. My feet were soaking as she finished up with another client. I didn't wait long to start my mani- pedi. Kathy handled my pedicure and my manicure. She is a perfectionist. Her work is very meticulous. She really takes pride in her work. I have particularly dry hands, so my cuticles get really thick and dry. She cut my cuticles and moisturized them without me asking her to do so. I really love this place. I'm so happy with the service that I received. The 14 mile drive from Whittier is worth it. This will be my new go to spot on the 15h and the 30th!! read more

First off it's friday and only 3 people are working in the shop. I'm getting a pedicure and and elderly woman comes in asking questions and the worker just keeps saying yeah to everything. The lady says yeah to what the lady response is yeah again lol. So I repeat what she is asking for and tell the worker respond with more than yeah yeah. This woman had an accident with her legs and wanted to know if they could help her in the spa chair.they said yes and went to help but she didn't feel secure so another young lady says just give her a regular pedicure please the worker starts speaking in her language and then says we don't do regular pedicures. I'm like really this woman is late 70's that pissed my out, their lucky I'm on a time limit or I would have walked with the lady. I won't come back here ever again and I live walking distance. This was the worst experience I've ever had in a nail shop. I went in for a pedicure, against my better judgement. I'd been to this salon a couple of years prior but had forgotten how bad it was. The pedicure was shoddy because the whole thing took place in 20 minutes. A good pedicure takes an hour including the foot soak. My nails were cut unevenly, not polished correctly (she just kinda slapped it on) and she did not clean up the cuticles. She kept mumbling about something and the next thing I know she's putting a scrub on my feet and legs. I never agreed to it because it certainly wasn't worth paying another $10. But when she gave me my total, she said (very clearly) that I said I wanted the scrub. Funny she didn't mumble then. I hate a liar, and a shyster, and this woman is both. She also had the nerve to try to push an eyebrow was on me, saying I needed them done. I promptly let her know I'd been going to the same person for 15 years for my brows. I would maybe go there again for a manicure ONLY if it was an emergency and I couldn't get to my regular person in Cerritos. But I'd only allow Kevin to do it. However I'm pretty sure I'll never cross the threshold of that place again. There are actually better salons in Carson. read more

Been coming here for 4 years, service has gone from OK to bad to worse. Rude. Unprofessional. Careless. When they mess up they charge to fix it. Charge what they want to charge you. One day a full set will be 20, the next 28 and then 18. Wtf? Had a pedicure here once, I got an infection and Kathy rushed through it and cut me several times. My last and final full set was disgusting and within 3 days they popped off like press on nails from the drug store. When I called and spoke to Kevin he said he would fix it for full price. I tried explaining that it was their fault and it should be fixed for free, he laughed at me and said full price and hung up on me. Never again. After getting my nails done on 08/31/206, I decided to go back the next day and have someone fix them. Yes, as you can imagine the ladies were mad talking in their language and laughing but I don't care the joke is on them. The man who fixed my nails was pissed off the whole time, he literally threw a hot towel on my hands and told me to leave as soon as he was done. Now, the real problem is that now that I have removed the acrylics I have what I believe is either fungus or bacteria. & this is specifically caused because nail salons do not sterilize their materials.
