Let's take a step back, when we were reviewing over wedding venues, Palladio was definitely at the top of our list. My sister had gotten married here two years before and the experience that we had with the staff in the management was nothing less than world class. After reviewing a few halls, Palladio was a no-brainer, we automatically clicked with the entire team, and I am beyond grateful that we chose this venue for our wedding. Everything was executed to perfect perfection. The hall was one thing I could tell you at my wedding I did not worry about at all. We ended up deciding not to drape the walls because I love the way the natural walls look, and we ended up with the white floors with the gold outlining. Everything we wanted was custom tailored to exactly fit our needs. Raffael make sure to go over everything with us so that we did not miss anything two weeks prior to the wedding and then followed up a week prior to make sure that every single detail was taken care of. The main reason we chose Palladio, and the reason we always choose Palladio, even for our home catering events, which they also do, is because the food is absolutely top-tier amazing. We are all very big foodies and the food served by the hall makes a really big difference for us. The food is always perfection, the crab salad is my absolutely everything on this planet. The ice cream that they bring at the end is always a hit with my guests. Every single guest that I spoke to after my wedding was raving about how delicious everything was, and I from experience can't tell you for multiple weddings that I've attended that their food is top-tier very delicious!! But putting everything aside, let's go back to the best part of the venue. The team! I am beyond ungrateful to all of them, Jerry, who is the Security manager is the sweetest man and makes your entire experience well worth it. How fun!…read more My cousin celebrated her 40th birthday here, and I never got an exact answer as to how she came about renting out the Women's Twentieth Century Club located in the heart of Eagle Rock on Colorado Blvd. For all the time I've spent in Eagle Rock enjoying the many places to eat and visiting friends (I've even eaten at Colombo's Italian Steakhouse and Jazz across the street, and the taco trunk next door in the gas station parking lot), I always thought this was simply a house. Oh no, my friends, apparently, it's more than that! The Women's Twentieth Century Club of Eagle Rock was founded in the late 1890s, and this facility was built in the early 1910s. The Craftsman style structure is still beautiful today, and upon further review and survey of the neighborhood, truly stands out among the other homes along Hermosa Ave. You would expect this to actually be located in the older neighborhoods in Pasadena with the rest of the glorious Craftsman's. As you walk up the steps and approach the spacious porch area, you head towards the front door and instantly notice how it opens up to an auditorium with ample floor space and a stage, reminiscent of where a town hall meeting would take place in those old movies from the 20s and 30s. The high ceilings lend even more to the amount of openness found in this room. Other areas to point out are the alcove or what appeared like a separate sitting area, the full kitchen, a waiting area of sorts upon entering into the building, a small bathroom, and an outdoor area for more seating. I don't know the rental rates, restrictions, or payment method, but I'm sure you can find such information here at their official website: www.wtcc-er.org/ For this particular event, there were no facility-specific individuals as you would expect at an actual banquet hall. So, your service is whomever you hire or bring along. Parking is relatively ample as there is plenty of side-street parking everywhere. You also have Colorado Blvd., but I can't remember if there are any meters. Lastly, they do have their own minimal parking, but I recommend hitting the street parking instead. Overall, I thought the Women's Twentieth Century Club was a pretty cool building based on the historical factor alone. I'm a born-and-raised Angeleno and whenever I come across hidden nuggets of this great city of mine, it always makes me proud that someone has taken the initiative and effort to try and preserve them for future generations. I can't say for sure whether or not I would rent out this place for an event of my own, but I can certainly say that I appreciate knowing that there is such an option available. I think others should take a look and maybe add this as an option to their list, too! A 3 1/2 stars for me!
