After years of seeing JASC pop up on NextDoor with reviews so glowing I thought, "Can this possibly be for real?" I finally ended up giving them a go. From the moment I connected with Andrew and David it was clear this was going to be a car experience unlike anything I had known. From the very first conversation, I felt like I was talking to friends who had my best interest at heart -- from safety to money matters. They took time to explain everything in detail, staying in touch via text at each step of the process to keep me updated. Not only did they not try to upsell me on anything, David actually called and had me bring over some extra lug nuts I had at the house because he "didn't want to sell me something I already had." In addition to their extremely efficient no-contact, COVID-safe process, I was also delighted to discover that JASC has been involved in several community and give-back initiatives ranging from Hilliard community gatherings to toy drives to Honor Flight sponsorships. It's a pleasure to support a local company that is doing good business and doing good for the community. So here I am, another JASC fan writing a glowing message that will possibly make you wonder, "Is this for real?" Owner admitted that an inspection was not done even though the repair order/invoice directly states it. He insinuated it was my fault because I didn't allow the shop to perform it. When a car is ready & the customer picks up their car. I would logically assume all the work is completed, including the inspection. 3. Lastly, the owner's attitude on the phone conversation was not professional ( insinuating I was part of the problem). Lesson learned: always confirm that the auto shop that you do business will do the work & not contract to another shop.

I've had my car worked on at ER off and on since I bought the thing. They have a super cute lobby at their Plain City location and they always have chilled drinks, coffee, and fresh baked goods. They offer loaner cars for certain services and I've never used that amenity personally, but the loaner vehicles in their lot look very nice and clean every time I see them! Even though I've moved throughout the years I still come back to ER because they're not judgy of my old decaying SUV, and they do their best to help. I can't speak to their pricing just because I honestly haven't had my car worked on anywhere else for big things. But they have coupons and I've always been able to afford their work!

Not having a car all day for a regular oil change is not great. They took advantage of me. Why even have the "call me with an estimate" option if they aren't going to do that? They kept my car all day. I even called mid-day and talked to someone on the phone and he never told me the cost of anything, never warned me about cost or talked numbers. He never offered advice about the services I'd requested, like what maintenance was typically done at this mileage. I learned to always request an estimate, to not be naive and trusting. I used to take my car here regularly but now I can't trust them.

They broke the glass and while they didn't steal the car, they completely messed up my steering panel. I tried calling a couple places that could fix this, C.A.R.S. told me they could, so I had my tow truck drop it off there. It took about a month to get my car back (that wasn't entirely their fault, my understanding is there was a cyber hack that delayed things. Still, it would have been nice for them to let me know that update versus me calling them asking what was going on). Not long after, my car was having trouble turning on. Tried jumper cables, that didn't work. So again, I had my car towed back to C.A.R.S. for further inspection. They replaced the starter. A month later, again, I was having troubles turning my car on and took it back for a third time to C.A.R.S. They told me basically nothing was wrong, my vehicle is in "theft mode" and if I just play around with the key fob, it should work. I found that odd because I never do anything different when I get in my car and turn it on, but ok. From there, sometimes it would turn on, sometimes it would not. I would have to basically hope and pray the "key fob" trick would work. After some more time, that no longer would work and I had to use jumper cables to get my car to turn on. I no longer could trust C.A.R.S. to fix this issue, as I kept racking up charges and my car was never reliable. So I took it to Luke's Auto instead. There, they found my module was completely disconnected. Since I had to jump my car so often, I now needed a new battery. I'm not a car guy, so getting into the specifics on the repairs is above my pay grade. But here's what I can confidently share: Driving (if I could drive at all) my car ever since I took it to C.A.R.S. made my life hell. Between my initial insurance claim and future visits, I spent thousands of dollars to not have a reliable vehicle. Ever since I took it to Luke's, it has been a pain-free experience and my vehicle has been perfectly normal. Had I simply taken my car there back in June, I would have saved so much money and had so much less stress. Not to mention, they came across significantly more communicative and customer-friendly, from their waiting room all the way to their follow-ups.

Here's a few examples ... TUFFYs on WEST 5th Av told me I needed SUSPENSION STRUTS ($1664 worth) coz my vehicle was "very bouncy" which it isn't AT ALL & they didn't even drive the car! Note: I had a 4 WHEEL ROTATION/BALANCE AND ALIGNMENT the day before elsewhere. I called back to the place that did my alignment to be sure they checked all suspension components (just out of curiosity since it's hard to trust some of these places) and they DID to find nothing that needed replaced! Then Tuffy said I "needed" a BATTERY REPLACEMENT coz there was some RESIDUE on it! Instead of just wiping it off, they'd prefer to rip off a customer! That was going to be $200! They sure don't go out of their way, in the very least! Then I "needed" SPARK PLUGS... (I had those replaced 3 years ago and had no issues there either.) Another $300! Then I "needed" BRAKE FLUID FLUSH (No reason just that it needed to be topped off) Oh they don't do top offs for a simple pouring of fluid into the reservoir until it reaches the full line! They'd rather charge $115 for a FLUSH! Then I "needed" STEERING COMPONENTS (tie rods & steering gear) Again, I had no issues there. Oh, that was an additional $500. The next day AFTER this BS nightmare, I brought the list of repairs from TUFFY to my regular car repair place that I've used for a decade for any major problems come up coz he's proven to be trustworthy. He did a DIAGNOSTIC and found nothing wrong with any of the above issues. (Which I already felt I knew but wanted confirmation.) So, THIS is what they call a "FREE COURTESY INSPECTION!" I'd call it something else but all in all saved myself $3,000 coz I speak up, ask questions, decline and follow thru with what I knew was a means of financial exploitation.
