My recent experience with Buckeye auto repair (Columbus) was disappointing; I will not be using the shop for future work. I gave specific instructions for routine disk brake / rotor PM repair. The Buckeye shop attempted to up-charge for parts and services not requested or authorized. I would describe Buckeye as being opportunistic. I located another vendor in the neighborhood that performed the work for 40% less. read more

We had started out being big fans. Great service, seemingly honest, efficient. But then we began to see they were trying to sell us on needless repairs. Go in for a simple job and you get a long list of things you should do, according to them. We took the car to our trusty mechanic and none of what they are recommending is technically wrong, but absolutely not needed. These guys really took great care of my "new" 1979 Corvette L82. It had no brakes at all (tiny bit, probably should have towed it but I risked the drive), idled rough, strong fumes in the cabin, and a little concerned with the drivetrain. I took my Older 94 Ford E350 for a missing A/C orifice (I later found out) that they could not even figure out the problem. I decided to use a free suspension checkup and they found several issues but want $511 for lower control arms costing $155-180. There markup is higher than I have ever experienced before. I dropped my car at 7 AM. I called at 4 PM to get a status. Nick said oh I see some notes from the mechanics I need to check on I can call you back in 10 to 15 minutes. No call came. I walked to their location (1.25 miles). At this point I still have not received a call and it was 45 minutes. As I thought, they did not start working on the car until I called. This would not have been enough time to do everything I had a requested. If you need work on your car I strongly recommend any place but Buckeye Complete Auto Care. read more

I'll start off by saying I do not know anything about their work. I was a first time customer I called in to schedule an appointment after work to which they said they could have me in for my problem right now. So I drove there and received my estimate to do the work I asked for. Signed their docusign and sat and waited. After the work was agreed upon and I sat for 20 minutes they came back and told me they would have to reschedule to another day as the work would take too long. I said okay I can do that as long as the price stays the same. To that they told me they couldn't do that either and the price for the work went from $210 to over $500 dollars. In my opinion that is a horrible way to do business. They offered zero resolution or compromise after agreeing to fixing my issue initially and me signing for them to do so. Lastly as a first impression from a customer to a business I feel like this was the worst thing to do. read more

I had been getting ads in the mail and decided to give them a try. A 2006 Dodge caravan I own started overheating. Another mechanic friend said the fan fuse had blown and replaced it. That worked briefly. The car continued to over heat when not moving. I dropped the car off on a Monday morning. They called me in about a hour to advise me I had a radiator leak. The repair would cost over a thousand dollars. I have a relatively new driveway and would have noticed anything on it. I felt I needed a second opinion so I returned in a few minutes to retrieve the car. They were indignant that I would question their diagnosis and charged me $55. It turns out one of the two fans was bad. No leak. The repair cost less than $500. There was never any evidence of a leak and pointed out the fuse blowing problem, I'm indignant they charged me for not being dumb enough to believe them. Phil D. read more

So I ended up actually doing business with this company and although they are friendly and personable and well-mannered I'm not too thrilled about ever going there again. Never really heard of a shop that charges you a diagnostic fee and doesn't take that out of the repair cost especially if the repair cost is extremely high diagnostic fee for was 135 I thought that was kind of high for industry standard or a AAA shop charges 95 for Diagnostic fee, and most dealers charge about a hundred bucks. They gave me a comprehensive info on my vehicle but there was more issues that was not disclosed on the report that they gave me the repair I got done was about $1,200 cheaper than it would have been here although they quote how great the warranty is a warranty is only as good as you're going to keep the car for so lifetime warranty is a great marketing tool however found a plan to keep the car for 3 to 5 years a lifetime warranty isn't really that viable especially if it's on the older car or somebody May Salvage it or something like that It was also a scenario where two people work seem to be on the same page the owner was more than gracious to make up for that mistake by making sure I had the number of wiper blades that I should have gotten for check-in for your promo that they used to have. So I don't want to give the owner any Flack I think he's a great guy however I don't think the pricing is that competitive nor do I feel it's completely comprehensive I found out I had radiator problems as well with my vehicle which I did not know about sure if I got the full value of my diagnostic fee I just don't see a Competitive Edge when it comes to getting my car worked out here although from my understanding they do quality work. read more

This used to be a great place to get your car fixed for a reasonable price. I used them for a couple of years, but no more. The quote I just got from them? I had the car fixed for 40% less than their quote by another garage who offered the same warranty. Shop around, everyone. read more

This company does good work but they charge an inspection fee of $50 whether you get the work done there or not. They also charge supply fee for things like rags,paper towels or any other miscellaneous Items that they may use in the repair of your vehicle. It's very hard to get a straight answer from these guys without paying the $50. read more

Late last year I was informed by another mechanic my complete exhaust system would need replacing from the manifold back so I after getting some rough quotes from other Auto Care places online I did a little research and ended contacting Buckeye Complete Auto via Yelp. My request was quickly responded to and effortlessly set up an appointment for an inspection and written estimate. I arrived just before my scheduled time and was greeted by the owner and my vehicle was quickly attended to. After a short inspection the news was better than I could have hoped for and nothing needed replaced, just repaired. A little over 30 minutes I was back to road worthy for under $250 instead of the $850 to over $1000 I'd been quoted elsewhere for replacement. My time in their comfortable customer area with free WiFi and coffee made it an easy wait and the service provided from initial contact to back to the road was flawless. While this is a Family owned business they offer nationwide 36 month 36,000 miles warranties on services. I'm happy to say from this first visit I found my 'go-to' mechanics in my part of town and I'll be back to keep my Elemental on the streets. read more

I've only been here a handful of times but every time I come the service is top notch. The first time I came in, I brought my 2004 Pontiac GTO. I had some jackass put a new exhaust on it who apparently didn't know what he was doing and proceeded to let the damn thing clink and clang like a wind chime every time I hit even the tiniest little spot in the road. Now usually when I take my car to get it fixed people want to charge me out the butt thinking I have all kinda of money to blow because of the car I have. They charged me $5 and I've never had a problem sense. $5! Have you ever been charged that little at a shop? NO! So today I take my 1990 Cadillac Deville up there because it's making some terrible noise that sounds like it's coming straight from the bowels of hell. They are done in about a half hour, charge me $86 bucks, and they oiled my door. First of all $86 bucks? Have you ever heard of such a thing? I mean my god some places try to charge you that for an oil change. I also don't think you understand the magnitude of oiling my door. This door is steel, it sounded like a walruses mid season mating call every time I opened the damn thing. Rrrrrraaaaawwwwrrrrr! No more. No more thanks to buckeye muffler and break shop! read more

I have been going here for 20+ years, owned by a great family who really did great work and worked with you to get you on the road. But now that is not the case, I went to get a front bearing replaced, I already knew the problem, they refused to quote a price, which I thought was odd, and now I know why, they charge $55 to do that. I had one done by a guy with a mobile unit for $250. But he had broken his leg and couldn't do it. Buckeye wanted almost $500 to do this, and they put the $55 inspection on top of that!! What worse is while it was on the lift, they pointed out 2 bolts that needed tightening....just grab a wrench a tighten, but they wouldn't do that!! They let me drive away with a loose nut on my outer tie rod!!! None of the people that used to run this place was there, they must have been bought out...this ends my long relationship with these scammers! Do not make the same mistake I did, stay away from here. The only negative reviews seem to be about price but as a consumer, you must consider what you're sacrificing with getting cheap prices. It often costs more to have a "cheaper" shop work on your car; if the parts are cheap, or the technician is inexperienced and misdiagnoses your issue or caused other issues, or the warranty is 1/3 the warranty you get here, than Buckeye Complete Auto will end up saving you money and time! Recommended by a friend and I was shocked at how efficient and courteous they were. I guess I am used to just average service. But not here! Stephanie was awesome! From my first phone call I thought I was talking to a professional phone answering service. She was so clear and helpful I was convinced that she couldn't be onsite. Then I arrived and was greeted by her and treated in that same way. She was friendly and looked me direct in the eyes as she explained exactly what would happen next. Then I was told my repair would only take 30 minutes and cost less than $100! I thought they made a mistake. I left thinking I wouldn't actually get a call that it was ready for at least twice the estimate, but no, once again I was surprised. The best of the best! I had a complete dual exhaust muffler system installed on my 1949 Ford Convertible. All pipes had to be fabricated. The work was done perfectly. It is hard to find family owned auto centers that actually care about there customers, and this one does. The price was very reasonable and the service was 5 STAR! I found this shop through here on YELP and I decided to give it a try. The shop itself is very clean and homey which what I liked the most. Stephanie helped me out over the phone, she was so polite and professional. When I got there the owner of the shop helped me out in the front desk, he was so nice and made me feel very welcomed. My car had a bad wheel bearing, he got it diagnosed very quickly and proposed to repair it that same day! I ended up leaving my vehicle there and heading back to work for a few hours and I came back to pick up my car in the later afternoon. So far my car is running great! The service is very good and the price was very reasonable. The owner seems very honest and it was very easy to trust him with my vehicle. I totally recommend this place! read more

I'm always skeptical when it comes to car shops, and to be honest dealerships really aren't that much better in many cases. One of our fleet trucks had a check engine light come on yesterday but more so than that had a shrilling beeping coming from under the driver seat which made it impossible to drive and left us in a bind. The dealerships all told me they were a week or more booked out for a simple diagnostic, so I asked around and got a recommendation for Buckeye complete auto repair. My initial phone call with them left me with a very comfortable feeling, so I brought my vehicle in, the guy who greets & cares for the clients is amazing, Super respectful, very easy to talk to you and explain what is wrong and very easy to understand. I was given a lift back to my house So I wouldn't have to wait with the truck all day, thankfully there was nothing seriously wrong with the truck, my follow up phone call was just as professional & comforting! DISAPPOINTED 10/15/2016 I brought my 2003 Toyota Corolla to Buckeye Complete Auto Care on 10/4/2016 after a thorough search of YELP to find a top-rated mechanic. Embarrassingly, I had misidentified a leaking hose as a brake line leak (missed by another mechanic on 9/29/2016 and subsequently repaired by that mechanic on 10/1/2016). Buckeye corrected my misidentification of hose as actually being the power steering hose, not brake hose. Based on my misconception, I had scheduled an appointment with Buckeye for brake inspection, $29.03. I was told by Buckeye that the mechanic REMOVED THE TIRES and inspected the brakes; test drove it twice - once before and once after inspection of brakes. 7 days later, I went to a different mechanic who identified major problems with my front tires (feathering, cupping, some beginning rot in tires, and a nail in one of the tires). Researching my file of auto repairs, I identified that these two front tires were 7 years old, purchased by me in August of 2009. Admittedly, my error in scheduling incorrect service; however, since the Buckeye mechanic REMOVED the tires to inspect the brakes AND test drove the car twice, I am at a loss to understand why this mechanic did not hear the LOUD rumbling noise in the front while test driving twice; and also if tires were removed, would he not do at least a cursory inspection of tires when he removed them? Yes, embarrassed by my misdirection; however, quite disappointed the tire issue was not noticed. read more

The staff and service here are top notch. I needed some non-emergency but urgent repairs and maintenance and was able to get a timely appointment. The staff are friendly and helpful, going over every expectation and checking for my understanding. They even provided me a ride home, I live just a short distance from the shop but after working a long night shift not having to get a ride or walk home was worth a lot. They now utilize a program that emailed me a point by point inspection complete with photos and comments, I also received texts about the progress of my vehicle.
