What to say about Kento. This place is awesome for some quick food. Unfortunately, sometimes the portions can be small, but the taste is always the same...YUMMY! For a food truck, the quality is superior. They are over in the old car lot with a couple of others. If you're driving through and want a quick bite with fresh ingredients, look no further! I am thankful to have such a great food truck in town!

Start the car start the car. Drive over and grab food from this food truck. Super fresh food and just amazing!! Being from Cali this spot reminds us of Benihana, which is a compliment . We had the shrimp, steak, and chicken plate with extra butter. Simply Amazing!! Looking forward to returning here when we visit Oregon again in a few weeks. Enjoyed it so much, forgot to take photo of food. Oh well, blame it on great food, what can I say. Give it a try!! We waited about 30 minutes or so for food, worth every minute. Late post, they are open in daytime!!

Great portion of food for a really great price! They have a signature sauce (the pink dip sauce on the picture) that's slightly sweet and has an interesting taste. The yakisoba was a bit too sweet for my tasting and I'd thought the fried rice would be mixed with veggies/eggs but it's just soy sauce fried rice. Customer service was excellent and there's seating areas right by the food cart & safe social distancing. A really great spot for college students as it's right next to the EmX!

I absolutely love hibachi and felt like it was one of the biggest things missing in the Eugene food scene when I moved here. Although you miss the experience of watching it being cooked in front of you, it tastes exactly like It was! I have been so impressed by this new food cart and the fact that they were able to open during Covid closures. The fried rice, vegetables, meat... All of it was incredible. They accommodated my requests and were super friendly and quick. I was able to order on the phone so that it was ready when I arrived which I also appreciated. The shrimp and chicken are my favorites- and don't forget to ask for extra yum sauce! I have picked us up a couple of times, and it has been consistently delicious each time! Highly, highly recommend checking out this new little cart...With locations both in Eugene and Springfield now!

    Delicious!

Super delicious! Great location at the Coburg truck stop off of I-5. Definitely recommend!!

Food 4/5 Servix…read moreTo-go only and containers 2/5 Finally made it here after a year. They open at 11:30. Food is to-go, though, you can sit at a table and eat it but it is still in to-go containers. We ordered a miso soup and sushi combination that comes with a salad, 2 tuna & 2 salmon nigiri sushi and 8 pieces of California roll. This was plenty for 2 for lunch and would be great even for dinner. The miso was ok and the sushi combo was good. The fish was fresh and tasty. The roll was good, too. I'm not especially into rolls but it is good for lunch. The salad was fresh and good sized. It came with what tasted like a mayo based dressing but I made my own with rice vinegar, sugar and a bit of sesame oil. I have to say I'm surprised it was that good. The sushi was better than expected for a to-go place. I really don't like to-go containers. I even bring my own to restaurants so I don't add to the plastic or styrofoam problem so this will be the dilemma in deciding whether to come back here. Maybe I can convince them to give it to me in parchment or in my own containers. I would love if this place would open for regular lunch and dinner service. This would be a great addition!

Definitely better than expected, we walked in and it didn't seem like any tables were available, but there was seating near the back. Service was quick, after placing our order, the food was brought pretty fast. We ordered sushi, katsu curry, poke bowl & gyudon. Everything was delicious, I enjoyed the flavor of my gyudon and the katsu curry was tasty too. My only complaint was the poke bowl--it seemed deceptively big, but the bowl was mostly filler, with rice and greens and some tuna poke on top. Nonetheless our meal was filling, but I'm not sure if I would order the poke bowl again. Overall, our dining experience was good--I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Definitely order the grilled shishito peppers. They were excellent as was the takoyaki! The chicken karaage was also very tasty. I loved their take on a jalapeño popper. They call it the jalapeño bomb and it has spicy tuna in it. I'd definitely recommend and it's great for sharing. We also ordered various sashimi and rolls and all were excellent! The Angry Mom was particularly good we thought! I highly recommend this place. Please go here if you haven't been!

Ordered the Ikura onigiri and the Japanese Sweet Potato and the Agadashi Tofu. (I asked for miso butter on the side for me because I have found it overwhelms the potato which is seasoned really wonderfully). The Ikura Onirigi was simple and excellent. My favorite wishes that they would create an regular Onirigi Happy Hour where they are on discount so that those of us who just want to have half a dozen of those and a few drinks can come in and experience our heart's delight. My drink of choice here is the Painkiller -- which is really well balanced and so delicious it's hard not to have a second. Wednesdays are when they have two dollars off the ginger-based drinks and I didn't try it this time but I am keen to the next time because they appear to crush the ginger in house and make their own ginger concoction magic. The bar was thankfully not crowded. As an introvert it was nice to be finishing up and heading out just as more people were coming in.

The place was packed, but thankfully we were seated quite quickly with a 5-10 minute wait. The interior is cozy and welcoming. It's dimly lit with mood lighting on the tables. It felt lively since the tables were packed. We started by ordering the sake and shoyu flights and some fries with wasabi mayo while we explored the rest of their menu. We received the flights quickly. Both flights had 3 flavors and were tasty and fun to try. Each flight comes with a menu describing the flavor profile and how the drinks were made. The flavors of each flight were distinct and matched their descriptions. The fries with wasabi mayo were pretty basic fries. They were well seasoned, had a nice crunch, and the mayo had a subtle wasabi flavor without it being spicy. For our next round we ordered the salmon misoyaki, butternut squash, tofu kushiyaki, and steak kushiyaki. Unfortunately, our server forgot to bring our butternut squash, but we ended up being full with the rest of the food we ordered and just took it off our order. The salmon misoyaki was delicious - perfectly cooked, tender, and well seasoned. The mustard greens on the side added a nice sourness. The tofu kushiyaki was tender and flavorful. The steak kushiyaki was well-seasoned, but more well done than I preferred and a little tough. Next, we ordered the spinach goma ae and umeboshi unigiri. The spinach goma ae was such a pleasant surprise! It's a chilled spinach dish with a tamari/black sesame sauce that was refreshing mid-meal. Really good umami flavor! The umeboshi onigiri had the expected sharp salty/sour flavor that balanced well with the ratio of rice. Ended up dipping the umeboshi onigiri in the goma ae sauce to get every last drop. For dessert we ordered the basque cheesecake and créme brûlée. The cheesecake was just okay. The menu said there was sake and black sesame flavors, but apart from some black sesame dust on the plate we couldn't taste the sake/sesame. The texture was thick and not super smooth. It was a pretty heavy dessert and not very sweet. The créme brûlée was yummy. The custard was smooth and the crunchy caramelized sugar on top was a nice contrast in texture and flavor. The service itself was slow. We were waiting around 15 minutes between orders. Given, it was a busy night. However, we felt a bit forgotten as our server did forget to bring one of our dishes, we had to ask for our dessert menus twice, and we were accidentally served two basque cheesecakes instead of our order of cheesecake and créme brûlée. The staff were friendly, and quickly brought out the correct desserts at the end. I'd recommend ordering more dishes at once so you can enjoy more food in between orders. Would definitely come back again to try the rest of their menu. We wanted to try the Japanese sweet potato but they had sold out that night. The oysters, sashimi, and udon also looked quite good!
