The burgers are "fresh ground," made daily on site. The fries are frozen skin on. The bun was grilled, a nice touch and the fries were crisp and lightly salted. I had a basic burger and fries. I asked for the burger m-r, but it came out med. most places have difficulty with m-r. The service was friendly and fast. Having owned a mobile food business. I like to support other mobile food trucks.........and I would recommend the "Bun Stuffer" So go and check them out, "you gotta love them burgers" So go and check them out, "you gotta love them burgers"

Hamburger juices running down my elbows and I gotta go wash my beard - who cares! JUST OFF THE FREEWAY, take exit 124, turn right, and they're in "THE LOT" on your left about 1/2 mile just after you cross the river. I hadn't eaten at The Bun Stuffer in over 3 years, and I remembered it as just okay. I'm kicking myself for all the times I drove past and didn't stop in. If there was a down side, I got a less than perfect slice of tomato, it was thin and all skin and I should have asked for extra onions, but that's on me.

It is not often I can say I went to a casino for the sole purpose of getting barbecue. And yet,…read morehere I am, saying I went to a casino for barbecue. Plate is a food cart, they split their time between a couple of North Bend/Coos Bay locations. I only knew they were at the Mill Casino so that is where I aimed to catch them. Located on the wooden boardwalk overlooking the bay, Plate comes with a view that cannot be beat. They offer an array of entrees that vary from a Mexican theme with tacos to a Hawaiian theme with macaroni salad that definitely is island inspired. They have good old straight barbecue as well. We tried a variety of items from tacos to chicken to pulled pork. For sides we tried the mac salad and pit beans. Everything was excellently prepared and they were generous with the serving sizes. My only critique was I thought the beans could have been flavored a little better. They were good, but some pulled pork in the beans could go a long way to upping the flavor. They weren't bad, just weren't special. Eating on the boardwalk overlooking the bay was a great experience. It really added an atmosphere you don't often associate with a barbecue joint. I make several trips to Coos Bay a year usually and this will continue to be a must visit for me and my family.

We had such a great experience at Pono Hukilau--this place truly delivered on every level. From the…read moremoment we walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and relaxed, with that perfect coastal Hawaiian fusion vibe that just fits so well. The food was outstanding across the board. The kids' fish and chips were a pleasant surprise--made with real rockfish, which you don't always see on a kids' menu, and it was done perfectly. Emma loved her sushi roll, and LaRue's shrimp sliders were packed with flavor and cooked just right. I went with the panko fried prawns along with the Hawaiian pulled pork, and both were absolutely excellent--crispy, fresh, and full of flavor. Even the appetizer set the tone for the meal--it was clear right away that they care about quality. What really stood out, though, was the combination of great food and great service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable without being overbearing. Overall, this was one of those meals where everything just clicked--food, service, and atmosphere. We'll definitely be back, and it's an easy recommendation for anyone looking for something a little different with really solid execution.

The Hukilau is a fun, festive classic staple in Florence, Oregon. This restaurant you walk in and…read moreit just feels fun. It feels welcoming. The staff are so wonderful. The attitudes are positive. This restaurant feels like a good time. The prices have gone up. I blame the economic conditions rather than the owners themselves. The food sometimes I feel like the sauce is too much or the food is too sweet or too salty. I don't feel that the food is super consistent every time I go. I love supporting local business owners. I love the story of the restaurant how it started as a food truck. I just wish the food was more consistent when you order.
