I just drove up and down half of the Oregon coast and tried several different supposedly "the best" clam chowder and verified what I already know; out of all of the best, this is the best best. It's real chowder, everything in it is delicious and you could have it as a meal with nothing else. I'll give it a 3.95/4 because I'm going to continue to try to find the best. The atmosphere is also very unique, with all of the firefighter memorabilia, and pub style. But I've never had bad service here and I've been coming back for the better part of 20 years. Too much salt in the tomato bisque and the salad had hardly any green leaves. Instead of that I had about 50 walnuts, many pieces of bacon that were not crispy, 14 croutons plus many pieces of some dark bread that was halfway turned into dark croutons , add some feta and red berries and the whole thing drowned in the walnut feta dressing. Too salty, too fat and not appetizing at all. I took half of it home so I could take pictures of the mess. The service was nice as always.
