I saw Dr. Patel for a remote glasses & contacts exam while Mr. Adam's was physically there to work the equipment & run test. She was also very knowledgeable and informative, communicating clearly without using a lot of medical terminology that could be confusing and without talking down to me. They both answered all of my questions throughly. I also ordered new lenses. The optical tech worked with me to figure out exactly what my insurance covered. I went back to pick up my glasses this past week. There was a different optical tech who fitted them on my face. She was also very kind & helpful asking me questions to help fit them perfectly. Since the visit went so well Ive already scheduled next year's appointment requesting to be with Dr. Patel again.

Don't get too comfortable because in my experience you won't be in it for long. I was promptly taken back where a detailed exam was performed on my eyes. The entire staff was super nice, very professional and highly skilled at what they do. I saw about 3 different technicians with each one doing a different part of my exam. Then the Dr came in and did his part of the exam and he spent a lot of time giving me options on glasses vs reading glasses only etc. I felt that this was a very good exam by a first class group of people. There is a huge difference in this and a typical walk in glasses dealer that makes it feel like you are at a fast food place. This is the opposite of that experience . I highly recommend them for your eye exam and glasses etc.

Hello, My name is Danny Smith, and I am writing regarding an…read moreunfortunate experience my family and I had at the Visionworks Hamilton Place Mall location on August 10. I brought in a pair of glasses that I have owned and worn for over seven years for what I believed would be a routine cleaning. These glasses are very important to me because they fit my face perfectly and have remained in excellent condition throughout the years. After my glasses were taken for cleaning, Dr. Ghaith Al-Sowaidi returned them to me with a significant crack in one of the lenses. The crack covered approximately 30% of the lens and was not present when I brought the glasses into the store. Dr. Al-Sowaidi explained that there may have been some residue or substance on the lens that caused it to crack during the cleaning process. While I understand that accidents can happen, what was most disappointing was the lack of empathy, concern, or apology regarding the damage. The response I received was essentially that the glasses were old, made of plastic, and that these things happen. As a customer, I expected a higher level of professionalism, compassion, and accountability, especially from a company that has built its reputation on helping people care for their vision. Had my glasses already been damaged, I would have asked about repair or replacement options. Instead, I came in simply for a cleaning and left with a pair of glasses that had been damaged while in the care of Visionworks. My family and I have trusted Visionworks for our eyewear needs for years, and this experience was very disappointing. I was hoping for some acknowledgment of the situation, concern for the inconvenience caused, and a discussion regarding possible solutions. Unfortunately, none of that occurred. I am bringing this matter to your attention in hopes that it can be reviewed and that appropriate steps can be taken to address both the damage to my glasses and the customer service experience. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this matter further with a member of management. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Danny Smith

As an update to my 2023 appointment for new glasses: I recently had an eye exam at another facility…read moreand was given a new prescription that was supposed to be a minor tweak on my current glasses. I compared the new prescription to my latest prescription and it seemed more like a major change instead of a minor adjustment. Not being an expert, I went ahead and ordered the updated lenses from Rome Eye Care. When they came in and I put them on, the vision in my left eye was good but I could see better out of the right lens without the glasses. I figured I just had to wear them for a while to get used to them. After two weeks of constant wear, my vision was not any better out of the right eye. I returned to Rome Eye care and they read the lenses on their machine and confirmed they matched the prescription I had been given, which I figured they did. They agreed with me that the new prescription was a major change from the lenses I have been wearing since 2023. They said I should go back to the original clinic and have them recheck my eyes. The original office I went to could not give me a repeat exam until June. I let Rome Eye Care know that I wouldn't be back anytime soon so they weren't expecting a quick return. The very next day they called and said that Dr. Reeves said for me to come in and he would re-examine my eyes. A new exam was performed and it was found that the prescription I was given by the other optometrist was over corrected for the left eye and was even a bit stronger than I needed for the right eye. During his evaluation he was able to correct my prescription to give me 20/20 vision. I know this is kind of long, but the people at Rome Eye Care center are really great. Based on how quickly they accommodated the exam and the expert treatment I received, I will probably use them as my primary for eye care.
