I called Chattanooga Vision Center to make an appointment to have my eyes looked at. The person who answered the phone seemed happy to set me up with an appointment and asked me a few questions.... one of the questions was "have I ever had cataract surgery." I told her that I have had "lens replacement surgery to repair my vision about 7 years ago." She said that is considered 'cataract surgery' and that will NOT see patients who have had that surgery. I explained to her that my eyes were very inflammed and not due to my prior surgery and I needed to be examined and possibly medicated. She again said they cannot see me due to my prior surgery. I told her that I had the surgery done in a another state and it's not as though their doctors would be stepping on anybody's toes by seeing me. She explained that it had nothing to do with stepping on toes, the fact is that the doctors at this location refuse to see patients who have had cataract surgery. So..... be forewarned, if you have had cataract surgery, don't waste your time trying to get in to see these doctors for any reason whatsoever. They obviously don't feel secure in their doctor duties to deal with anyone who has had cataract surgery and will flat out refuse to see you. I've lived in five different states and have never run into this issue before, but obviously they know their weaknesses and maybe it's for the best that they didn't allow me to come in. I don't need anyone inexperienced to mess up my eyes.

The wiliness to allow me to try new things has been nice. I felt good enough about the practice to have my grandson go there and Dr. Sanders was great working with him to help him see better. The experience was great. I have seen some of the comments about glasses. I still have my first two pair of glasses that I bought there (7 years) and use them everyday. I've changed the lenses on both once and they still work well. Just yesterday they helped me replace a part that I have just worn out. Brooke had to be innovative to solve my problem and it was appreciated. If I get seven more years out of them I will probably let them go as I feel I got my monies worth out of them.

I was given a quote based on what my insurance would cover, so I knew exactly how much extra I'd have to pay out of pocket. It was a quick & easy process throughout! Dr. Hale was awesome and seemed genuinely interested in making sure I got the best possible prescription. The office was clean, bright, and easy to find. Eyes on the Mountain is a smaller eye are center so they can't have millions of sample glasses on-hand, but they did provide a good selection of adult frames, sunglasses, and kids eyewear. This is definitely a fantastic choice if you're looking for a new optometrist!
