Despite having used this office for 24 years ( I hate change) I cannot possibly go back. Dr. Sanders is very helpful, so he gets the entirety of that one single star. The last two pairs of lasses purchased here were utter garbage. The first of the two bad pairs were wire frames that fell apart constantly. Seriously, I had to have them repaired several times, until I bough the tiny screwdrivers and extra screws to do it myself. The second go round, I was told that I should never have been allowed to use wire rims, because my lens were too thick for the lens to be supported. OK. So I chose plastic, sturdy frames. They are also broken now (self-repaired), but much worse than that, the lenses have been pealing for over a year. Pealing. Like a sunburn. When I called the office, I was unapologetically told that they were out of warranty, so they couldn't help. I used to be able to keep a pair of glasses for seven year stretches - but these were glasses I bought from outlet suppliers. So I went back for a new exam, with the intention of ordering much less expensive glasses online. I had to ask for a copy of my prescription (I later found out they are supposed to give it to you without being asked, according to ftc.gov), and when I tried to purchase glasses online I was prompted for a "pupil distance" that wasn't on my prescription. I called them to get it off my chart and was told I would be charged $25 for that information. That's illegal!!

So I'm now in process of looking for a new doctor (I hate change) and of contacting every over-site committee/agency that I can think of to complain to about this.
Also - a quick google search taught me how to check my own pupil distance, so at least I can order some glasses now. read more
