Our kids' school is organizing a trip here, so parents are required to attend--and unfortunately, the experience with reservations has been frustrating. They require payment in advance, but the system doesn't work properly. I tried booking for 3 people and it only charged for 1. I tried again for 2 people, and it still only charged for 1. It's confusing and unreliable. If you're going to require paid reservations--especially for school groups--please make sure your system works correctly. On top of that, parking is a nightmare. There aren't enough spots, which makes the whole process even more stressful when you're trying to coordinate with a school group and young kids. read more

Family made the trek from OC on a Sunday morning for the 10 am slot. Reservations were easy to make the night before. I noticed person were able to go in without reservations at the check in counter but maybe that was for slow time slots. Farm offers two sizes but we opted for the large tubs. They tell you how much to fill without over filling aka being charged extra. People were mad filling but I guess it's a gamble. We only stayed for about 45 min but time slots were for 1.5 hours. No shade so be sure to bring a hat and water. Small food truck offering drink and snacks. Small sundries shop as well. I didn't see any restroom facilities and it's not a major exit off the freeway so come prepared. read more

The field was clean, easy to walk through, and the vibe was just really relaxed and family-friendly. Staff were friendly and helpful too. First time at the Kenny's strawberry picking at Fallbrook . Went there last March. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED TO VISIT, $5 per person. They do limit # of ppl visiting. 2 size buckets to choose from. The smaller one, children can carry on their own. Farm is huge, family oriented, kid friendly . Lots of huge red berries. There were food trucks for lunch, few benches, tables chairs to sit . Theres a place where children can play too. We got the big bucket, filled it up as much as we can, staff are very friendly. ( why 4 star) There were only porta potties, no actual bathroom . There was one porta potty for handicapped. There's portable wash/ sink area. No shades out in the field, definitely bring your hat , apply sunblock generously, wear comfortable shoes and clothing that you can peel off . Don't forget to bring your hand sanitizers too . Lots of parking space in the area. Try it ! pick your own berries, enjoy family time, if you have not tried it yet. Best strawberry picking experience I've had thus far of all my SoCal experiences. Finding the location was a little tricky because it was not an obvious turn in so keep an eye on your GPS as you approach. Parking was on dirt and there was enough parking but the lots did not seem to hold very many cars compared to bigger venues. The crowd at this location was minimal when we visited. We happened to go the first day they opened and the strawberries were huge, fresh, and delicious. The rows were very neat and easy to navigate with a little kid. The paths around have gravel and thus folks with mobility issues or fall risk should be assisted but one of the neatest farms I have ever visited. Staff were so warm and helpful! Very positive strawberry picking experience. We had space to pick strawberries, we did not feel rushed, and the biggest strawberries if you go when U-Pick opens. Not as many activities/attractions or food options as other places, but in my experience, it's also without the hustle and bustle of huge crowds and rowdy families. read more

We stopped by to pick strawberries on a Friday afternoon and it was such a wonderful experience. There were no crowds and we were able to go at a leisurely pace with our 2 little kids. Definitely enjoyed this experience over previous strawberry farms we've been to in the past where they rush you. I enjoyed being able to walk to the fields by ourselves and taking everything at our own pace. Parking area isn't that big so I'm not sure if it gets crowded on the weekends. The strawberries here are large, juicy, and sweet! My kids loved them and we finished the large bucket of strawberries in 2 days. I'm going to have to disagree with my fellow Yelpers here. Although I find the concept charming and a fun experience for both kids and adults, I find it grossly overpriced. First of all, they have an entrance fee of $5 per person to even enter the strawberry field (it doesn't matter if you are picking strawberries or not). It does not include anything other than getting in. Then you have to pay for your bucket to fill with the strawberries you pick on your own. The small one was $11 and the large one was $23. We opted for the large one which weighed about 4-5 lbs after filling it which meant each lbs was $4-6 (pricey!). Then they have all these activities for the kids but you have to pay for each one (face painting for $10, slime making or canvas painting for $10, lemonade for $6, ice cream for $5), which sucked having to tell your kids no as we walk past them. The parking lot was large but quite full on a Sunday afternoon. Be prepared to search and wait for parking. After paying for gas to drive over 40 mins and paying over $50 for one bucket of strawberries, entrance fees, and a lemonade, this is one expensive experience that may be one and done for us. I understand paying for the strawberries but to also charge an entrance fee seems a bit greedy. read more

They just opened March 22 for the season! My husband and I visited for the first time and loved the experience. The strawberry fields were full of sweet strawberries! We got a large bucket which cost $23 and picked almost 5lbs of huge ripe berries. We enjoyed being out in the sunshine. There were tons of families there - they had activities for kids. There were a few food stands and picnic tables. We got bbq for lunch and it was really good! You need to make a reservation to pick - just go to their website to do that. When you get there, go check in and get your container to put your strawberries in. We enjoyed it so much we are going again next weekend! Last year I went in a massive strawberry buying spree, visiting farm stands and farmers markets all over San Diego looking for really good strawberries. I spent hundreds on different flats of okay strawberries, but was ultimately disappointed by all of them. Maybe my expectations were just unreasonable? Then a co-worker told me about Kenny's, and this year I finally ventured out. And yes! Finally! These were the strawberries I was looking for. They're the most expensive option I tried, but clearly the best. And you don't have to pick your own, but I recommend doing so for the best flavor. They have a reservation system online, but didn't actually pay it any mind at the farm, so just show up whenever. I didn't see anyone else eating while they picked, but I asked if it was allowed and was told yes, so I ate a bunch while I was picking. Look for berries that are lying out in the sun rather than shaded by the plant to get ones with maximum flavor. The shaded ones are just fine vs the sun ones which are excellent. This is a long way to drive, but worth it for good strawberries. read more

Its the start of the strawberry season and I cannot help but be incredibly excited! Nearly two weeks ago or was it two weeks ago? Sorry so much going on I should've written this review as soon as I went! Anyway, although they are not doing U-pick sessions yet due to it being early in the season that there isn't enough for all to pick just yet..Kenny's Farm was starting the picking and getting them boxed up for half and full flats. Then you could order what you wanted and pick them up at the farm in Fallbrook. Unfortunately due to the rains, there hasn't been any pickups after that first week but I'm anxiously waiting for this time! Keep an eye on their Instagram page for any news on the farm whether it be pickups or the start to make reservations to pick. Pickup orders are easy to make once announced and a very smooth process. You just let them know you're name and they take a look for your order. All is organized, the staff is nice and their strawberries are sooooo worth it! They're large, delicious and sweet! If you get that chance, you've got to come here! My kids are getting older but they love coming out here to pick their own berries! Just a note: When it comes time to picking your own berries, wear comfortable shoes that you don't mind a little dirt or mud on! read more

10 stars if I could! We came in May with our 2 and 4 year olds and it was such a great experience. We made reservations but it was also not checked when we got there since it wasn't busy on a Friday afternoon. You park right out in front and pick a small or large bucket you would like to fill. There is no admission fee per person and you pay at the end. The strawberries were so fresh here and the walk out to the field was very short with two toddlers. I would suggest wearing closed toe shoes as it can get muddy or squishy if you accidentally step on some overripe strawberries in the aisles. Each aisle is pretty narrow and we were usually single file to go down each way. We picked 2 huge buckets of strawberries for $22 each and it was the best and easiest strawberry experience we've had so far. read more

I'd done research into the best strawberry picking in Southern California long before I started coming around regularly and Kenny's was very much the hidden gem. I happened to remember that I had it saved a few months back when it was the start of strawberry season. By coincidence I checked their website and managed to snag spots for the first day of the season. The check in process was simple and straightforward, two container sizes to choose from and priced by the container size. The hardest part was figuring out how to get into the dirt parking lot as I turned too early at first and had to loop back around. Didn't have trouble parking despite tickets for the day being sold out. The strawberries were abundant, all large in size. With a bit of engineering knowledge you can definitely stack in a way to make sure you get the best bang for your buck. After you're done picking and paying there are picnic benches and a water spigot so you can enjoy fresh strawberries onsite. I definitely hope to be able to come back next season! read more

Update: Amanda responded to us really quickly and refunded us the overfilling fees. Good customer service! The strawberries are super sweet and yummy! We come here every year and it was such a fun place for our kids but NOT anymore. This year, they start to charge $5 each person for admission fees. After we finish our two large buckets ($23 each), they charge us 10% for overloading fee. We have been here for years and have never heard of that. In total, we paid $70 for only 2 buckets of not organic strawberries. We will never come again! read more

I made appointments for the last day of their strawberry picking season. The process was very simple, and I when we checked in, we weren't even asked about our time slot or names. This was the first time we were doing this, and honestly, I was a little nervous my kids would be disappointed and we wouldn't find any good strawberries, and let me tell you was I surprised! There were plenty of beautiful and sweet strawberries and blackberries everywhere! We got the $10 buckets and it took us about 10 minutes to fill them all up! Fun family outing for all ages! Made reservations online (free) on their website. We arrived around 945, shortly before opening/reservation time. Follow the signs to the check in area, where you'll choose either a large ($20) or small ($8) bucket. The employees are welcoming, friendly and informative; didn't ask to see our reservation confirmation . Spent about 20 minutes picking strawberries and taking photos. There are a few cute areas for photo ops. You pay for your filled strawberry buckets at the stand close to the check in area. They also sell a few souvenirs such as mugs/glasses, shirts, honey and strawberry preserves. They also had a couple food stands, including little Thai cottage (made to order pad Thai and mango sticky rice...sooo good!) and Ariee's confections which sold dessert cups ($11). Hand washing stations, port-a-pottys onsite. Free parking (dirt road). Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes you don't mind getting dirty. They are so amazingly kind and helpful here, you can tell that they really take pride and joy in their farm and wanting everyone to have the best experience. They have new goodies for sale and also a cute little truck with some treats. First time strawberry picking with the family. My kids had a blast. Made our reservation ahead of time for the morning to avoid the crowds. There's a porking lot with loose dirt. You check it and the booth to pick up your container. They have 3 different sizes. The largest container is $22. When we got inside I was surprised to see that they have a pretty big field. There were more than enough strawberries for everyone. It is a farm so be prepared to get dirty. There are dirt walkways and there is a bit of an incline to get to the far back. If you're using strollers, walkers, wheelchairs or just have a difficult time going uphill beware! The isles are very narrow so trying to pass someone is a little challenging. Finding the big strawberries was a fun little challenge for the kids. It was a fun morning! They say it's ok to taste test while you're picking too so the kids definitely took advantage of that. On the way out there are some stands that sell fruit, food, and strawberry lemonade. There are also several picnic tables to sit and enjoy the great weather and eat. Wish this place was closer to Los Angeles, but I'd definitely come back in the future with the kids. read more

Giving it 4 stars for the past years, but recent visits have been sub par. Went for opening weekend and there were so many moldy berries. We decided to buy a flat, but they were starting to show a use by date and tasted bland. We've gone for years but we've had them twice this year and they haven't been very good. Currently $11 for the small bucket, $5 pp to pick. We've never had issues with parking but we go around noon each time. They try to have other activities but we've never been interested. The friendliest people with a neighborly feel. It did not feel corporate-ran like Tanaka Farms in Irvine. My husband and I live down the street from Tanaka Farms but hated how busy and greedy they are with pricing and parking fees so we drove to Kenny's instead. We were shocked that we didn't have to pay for parking or pay to get in. No crazy long lines. Just grabbed a bucket and instructed to go have fun. They also have the best lemonade and strawberry short cakes. We really can't recommend this place for strawberry picking enough!
