Full bucket of persimmons $0.90/lb on 10-30-21

Bar 2 Ranch is my go to for persimmon picking. The staffs are very friendly, make sure you bring cash with you, no credit/debit transactions. They have a bucket, clippers and a wagon for you to use but it's limited. Make sure you get there early, they open at 8AM and have fun picking the persimmons. There are plenty of persimmon trees as well to choose from, most of the trees had fruits on it when I went. Their persimmons are THE BEST, it is sweet and crunchy. Anyways, I highly recommend going to this mom and pop ranch if you love persimmons like I do. Happy picking!!!

A place for U-pick fanatics like myself. If you love picking your own fruits and you like persimmon this is yours place in Pauma Valley, CA They charge $1.25lbs for Fuyu persimmon, which is a good price. This is a private mom & pops farm and they provide buckets and clippers as well. If you rather not pick your own fruits they have fruits stand with already picked fruits you can purchased. Their fruit stand consist of lime, naval oranges, persimmon, grapefruits, the hard to find blanca sapote. Which if you've never had it, you must let it sit on the counter until it's ripe and soften to eat. They're sweet and custardy and I've never found them in supermarkets. You must go early October- early November. By mid November their persimmons are already picked cleaned or too high up to pick. We do love walking the farm and taking photos. The family also have dogs and they are dogs friendly. They even offered my dog, Peanut a dog treat but we kept our dog in the car most of the time. They do allow dogs on leashes and you must pick up after your dogs. On one side of the farm they also have jujube and another type of persimmon. Must ask before picking these. We will always return to this farm year after year. Thank you for your hospitality and great service Bar 2 Ranch family!!

Super cheap prices for picking fresh persimmons off the tree - $1 per pound on the day I was there. I love coming here every year. If you call and get voicemail, just hang up and you'll receive a text message back with information as well as a photo of how ripe the persimmons are.

Fresh fruit is always the best! Especially when you are able to pick your own. First time ever picking persimmons, it was so much fun. They provide everything you need, buckets, wagons and cutters. You can even hop on their tractor and make it a ride. Best of all the fruit is soo good and cost half of what you pay at the store. Recommend making a morning of it. My whole family had so much fun and we got competitive on who can get the funkiest looking persimmon. Remember to wear some dirty shoes because you will get your shoes dirty. Look out for gopher holes too. Hey they need to eat too! Hahaha.. What I love is, it is a family ran farm and they don't utilize pesticides. We were told that they don't spray and we can eat the fruit off the tree. And yes! We sure did! The only complaint was the bathroom, just thankful that there was bathrooms available. We will definitely be back next season.

I love this place. It feels like a throwback to the past. It is a beautiful place to take the family. If you hit peak, the fruit is plentiful. If there isn't a lot to pick, you can always buy already-picked fruit at the stand. It is a nice place to have a picnic and tromp around in beautiful east county.

We went on 10/23/24 and the persimmons were still a little green though there are some that are ripe enough. We got 37 lbs at about $40. The fruits are huge! The ripe ones are really sweet. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We had a great family time.

Great experience picking persimmons with the family! Will definitely be back to pick more during other seasons.

    60 lbs. of Persimmons.

Pick you own persimmons for $.50/lb!! Who can argue with that. We picked 60 lbs. our first time there. Admittedly the Fuyu persimmons were smaller than the fruit on our two trees at home, but there were a lot to be picked without the aid of a ladder. They supply you with buckets and clippers. We brought our own gloves and in the future will bring our own sharpened clippers. A long pole with a hook or clippers would also be useful for reaching the high hanging fruit. It was a long drive from Scripps Ranch, but made for a nice day with family and friends. We got there at 10:30 on a Tuesday morning which was perfect. Not too hot or crowded.

Best place to pick your own organic persimmon! fun for the whole family. great experience & great customer service. they provide the buckets & the clippers. They have three fruits for picking for example jujubes in the middle of September & persimmon & pomegranate in the middle of October until the end of November. it can be a little different every year so it's good to call to ask if the fruits are ready.

    Persimmon galore :)

Went there this past weekend! There were so many persimmons to pick! Definitely a must! When we went last year (second week of November) there were barely any on the trees, but had several to sell still. ($1/pound)

The only drawback is the on site account manager who did not manage my booking correctly and there is a balance of $160 due to be returned to me + my Christmas groceries and gifts that were removed from the fridge and from my room, $250 groceries & $1000 in Xmas gifts and linens. I understand this was a mistake on the part of the housekeeper and / or account manager as they thought I had left. in fact I traveled to The Mission Inn, Riverside for 2 nights for the holiday festivities and I left a voice mail on the Lazy H Ranch machine to say I will return. I prepaid for my entire visi at Lazy H which was for 3-4 during the Christmas holidays of 2024. I would like to host a conference at this location for my former students from Woodbury University in the future. I suggest a clear written agreement for the 'Lazy H Ranch rental rooms or cottages' is printed with an invoice, statement of services to be provided and then a printed or emailed for payments received. I suggest a print out on the Inn bedroom doors stating rates, fire safety and emergency contacts along with instructions for operating the heating; A/C ; the WiFi., and television. understandably the SDG&E were having power outages for testing their systems during my stay so for 3 or 4 days there was no power or hot water, the Manager provided extra blankets and a discount. It was peaceful on those day s as the restaurant was closed. I traveled to visit Glen Ivy in Corona for a bath and to access internet to send messages home. When these minor issues are addressed the 'Lazy H Ranch' will be one of the finest establishments in California. 2024 - 2025 Xmas & New Year 3 week stay. Juliette Robina Howay M. .

Sitting at the bar feels oddly enclosed and lifeless. Even with open windows, the atmosphere comes across as closed off and quiet in an uncomfortable way, more empty banquet hall than inviting restaurant. Each time, the place felt dead. Service at the bar was also lacking. The bartender was frequently away talking with servers, leaving us waiting a long time for drinks despite how slow the restaurant was. The food was equally underwhelming. The sides that are often praised, including the twice-baked potato, tasted like frozen, reheated items rather than something freshly made. The meat itself was mediocre and forgettable, with nothing that stood out. We really wanted to like this place and gave it multiple chances, but after three visits, we're genuinely confused by the hype.

We actually ended up staying at the ranch for a mini-vacation in August 2020 and had a great time, and then we had a 115-person wedding in May, and it was so perfect! We originally booked the venue back in March of 2019 after visiting and falling in love with the gorgeous and unique house, INCREDIBLE view, and the owners' enthusiasm and responsiveness. After communicating with a few venues, we were so impressed at how helpful Lisa and Bob were, and they were more than happy to answer any question we had (and responded to emails at the drop of a hat, even after we booked!). What was also great about the venue is that so many things are included, and you aren't stuck making decisions about what type of plates to have, etc -- they have done so many weddings that they know what will work, and you can feel confident that everything will turn out awesome. We even went into the prop room and picked out a few things to put out (they have everything you could imagine), but the staff took it to the next level on the actual wedding day, and everything looked so beautiful. In addition, they work with great vendors -- in particular, everyone was raving about Buckboard catering, who we also used for our rehearsal dinner. Their coordinator, Jen, is so fantastic and organized! Once we had our initial call, she maintained constant communication and made sure everything went off without a hitch. She even had lots of helpful tips for where to set things up and helped our day run very smoothly. I definitely recommend staying in the house for a few days if you choose CNR as your wedding venue -- it's such a fun place to stay! We stayed for four nights, and our families had a blast bonding together, and it's also fun to feed the animals and swim in the pool! There's so much to do at the ranch (and it also makes for a special experience for wedding guests -- we had lots of people commenting on how much fun it was to get off the shuttle and feed carrots to all the animals!). Thanks to Lisa and Bob for the most special day ever! We are so happy to have chosen CNR as our venue!!

There are simply not enough amazing things we could say about working with Bethany. Bethany had great communication and since the beginning she had quick responses to our questions which made planning our wedding very efficient. She has a lot of experience in the wedding industry and would ask us questions about things we didn't even consider. She was EXTREMELY accommodating - my husband and I are both healthcare workers who occasionally work Saturdays with changing schedules throughout the week - this never was an issue when it came to planning our wedding. The location is extremely beautiful from the daytime to sunset and even to night time with all the lights and chandeliers. There are honestly SO many locations to take beautiful photos in and this was a big factor as we wanted a variety of places for backdrop - there's a lavender field, a bridge overlooking a small pond area, and a place with a sing - this is not including the picturesque house covered in vines and the ceremony site. Additionally, all the decor in the photos below were included (even the furniture, florals, and table settings). We chose the package that included florals and Bethany (who is also a florist) went ABOVE and BEYOND with the floral arrangements and bouquets, literally making my Pinterest autumn wedding dreams come true. The day of the wedding went as smoothly as weddings can possibly go and despite it being the craziest day, it was also one of the best days of our lives. We really owe it all to Bethany and cannot rave enough about her and her team. We've heard from many of our friends who got married about something they didn't like about their wedding planning process, but honestly, working with Bethany was completely smooth, stress-free, and an efficient yet detailed process. If you are thinking about having a wedding at Willow Creek Ranch, I 1000% would recommend it. (All photos in this review are from our wonderful wedding photographer Carmelisse Photography!)

Right across from Pala Casino next to Mis Cuartes Taco Shop was a sign that read "25 Avocados for $5". What a deal! However, upon arrival we realized why it was so cheap. Although the avocados were small that still beats any market price. They were also selling 10 small avocados for $2 a bag. You could buy larger ones at a larger price, which was slightly cheaper than Trader Joe's. The cashier was very helpful and showed us the different sizes and explained the prices, which was all clearly marked. So we grabbed the 25 avocado bag and happily paid $5. HOWEVER, after we go home we discovered there was only 14! Really?! How do you make up a bag of 14 when you were selling them in multiples of 10 or 25?! All the bags were the same size so it's not like the one we picked was smaller than the remaining bags. Not sure if this is a common practice of the store, but be cautious hence the low rating! I can't give them one star because the price indicated on their sign "25 Avocados for $5" is a great deal, but that's only if you get 25 avocados.

They are mindful in their farming practices, ethical in their animal treatment, and you can taste the love. I was vegetarian for most of my life, mostly because felt guilty eating animals. When my health began to become effected by my lack of animal proteins, I slowly began to introduce meats. I bought from Whole Foods, it was "pasture raised," it was pretty tasty, but I had a hard time digesting it. A few years later I started buying my meats from a farm in Nor Cal and having it shipped. I didn't like that everything was frozen but I knew it was better than the grocery-bought stuff. Once I switched to Da-Le, was when I REALLY understood how important the methods of animal care are. The farm I purchased from prior, had no intel on feeding or culling methods, and when asked how they tended their animals, their response was, "we do what we want and they do what they want, we don't really tend them." I like the idea of free-range animals, but the vendor then went on to explain that they travel for great lengths of time and lots of people come and help out. It felt disconnected to me, like it was all for profit not out of love for the methodology of farming and providing the community with great food. Anyway, this is not about the "other guys," this is about Da-Le. I have built a beautiful relationship with Ashlie and her Laguna Beach Farmers Market crew, they always make great recommendations, and are truly engaging when you come to their booth. I don't feel rushed, I feel cared about! 3 years later, I am writing blogs for Da-Le, something that brings me the deepest joy, because I am so passionate about sustainability and wellness. My digestion of meats has greatly improved, and I personally feel it is because the animals live low-stress lives and eat quality food. I feel good about my consumption of meat when I support operations like Da-Le, and my body does too!
