Too often you go to a Mexican restaurant that's sadly been Americanized....not here! Everything we order had so much flavor and tasted superb. The spices used were perfect!!!! The Armadillo OMG was so good. Came out sizzling and remained super hot throughout the time we were there. Served with a generous plate of rice, beans and several tortillas ...I'm excited to have it again for leftovers. They did not skimp on anything! You definitely got your moneys worth. My Husband ordered the taco platter and we shared the Quesabirra. Both were filled full! Excellent flavors. Omg..the Cafe de olla was divine. Perfect end to the meal. So yummy! Claudia, you made our meal even better! Your smile, laughter, welcoming presence, attentiveness was spot on. Thank you for making our night the best. Mi Ranchito. Thank you!

Rarely do I write a review after just 1 visit, but I'm making an exception for this little gem!…read more I've known of this place for years, but never stopped in before. I was glad that I did finally drop in. Located in a little strip mall on Valley Road, it's an unassuming place from the outside. The inside is small, but comfortable and it felt very "homey". When I walked in, the first thing that hit me was the smell of delicious food wafting through the air. The tastes did not disappoint. We were greeted and sat promptly by a personable young man that brought us water. The owner then brought us our drinks...a margarita for my dining companion and a Mandarin Jarritos for me. My sip of the margarita tasted amazing! Great balance and flavor. We also received a basket of chips and salsa. You could tell that they were made fresh to order. The chips were crispy and hot. The salsa was outstanding...fresh cilantro...balanced combination of flavors with a nice, subtle kick of spiciness at the back end. Not too spicy...just right. I usually have to ask for something hotter...not in this case. The food was amazing! My dining companion ordered the Chile Relleno plate and I got the Molcajete. The prices are outstanding and the amount of food? Huge plates! My Molcajete was sizzling hot and overflowing with chicken, beef, shrimp, nopales and ground beef mixed with veggies. A large plate of refried beans and spanish rice also accompanied this presentation. Fresh, hot, delicious corn tortillas rounded out each of our orders. We were also given a couple of squeeze bottles of sauces...green and red...to add to our meals if we wanted. Freshly made and the bottles were presented in a plastic tub filled with ice to keep them cold. Great addition to the already amazing food! There's also a nice selection of Mexican hot sauces on the table for you to choose from. We both took to-go boxes...so much food! Mine lasted for 2 more meals! I plan to return on a regular basis...this is now one of my favorite local places for great Mexican food. As always, I suggest that you visit to see what YOU think...

I hit Reno up on all the major Reno holidays…read more You know, Hot August Nights-Nugget Rib Cook-Off, Santa Pub Crawl, you know, the big ones. So my version of Reno is what it was like in the early 90s when Reno was packed every weekend with gamblers from all over Northern California. These days it's only like that during the big event weekends, other weekends it's kind of a ghost town, but you go up to Reno on the right weekend and it's truly booming. Well every single time I go to Reno during those busy weekends, I 100% of the time stop at Los Gallos Taqueria. It's always busy on these weekends, a lot of times with lines to the door and it always passes one of my major "taqueria" tests that I promised myself never to divulge publicly. The place isn't fancy at all, they don't have an ideal table or ordering setup. They don't have any of the bells and whistles you would expect these days from most modern taquerias. I wouldn't say the service is bad, but it's just dry, unless you speak Spanish like my wife, then it's 5 star treatment like they were long lost family members. I would describe the service as efficient otherwise. But what this place has going for it is two major things, location, being right on N Virgina Street right across from Silver Legacy and incredible tasting authentic food. The family who runs this spot has roots from Jalisco Mexico and you can taste it in the food, it's so tasty. This food takes me back to eating in Jalisco. It's not too expensive either, though you would think it would be considering its location. I've had the tacos, burritos, tortas, enchiladas. I've tried the carne asada, the shrimp, the chicken, the birria. All of it super top-notch. They do charge for chips and salsa but I'm ok with that because complimentary chips and salsa is just a way for spots to raise the cost of the menu items and this place keeps their prices low. The micheladas here are pretty good as well, they have an excellent recipe. They do have bathrooms, but like everything else here, it's an interesting journey to get there through the back of the restaurant. Overall, I would say this place is really great at making great tasting authentic food and would recommend trying it out, I've enjoyed it every time. PS-Small disclaimer, I have never eaten here sober, so I hope that didn't affect my ratings.

Yup... that was me on a Wednesday night and tacos made it all better! -tacos: 5/5 Let's talk about presentation... wow!!! When you think of a hole in the wall spot, this is what you want to see and this is what you want to smell! I got my order to go because I said... let's take some home to just wind down from the day. Asada had some delicious traditional notes on its own and the tortillas were perfectly coated from the flavor! Al pastor was spicy with a hint of sweetness, I would have wanted a little more sweetness, but that's the only thing I'd say as you can taste the marinated charm hit you how you want it! As for the barbacoa... think birria but Smokey!!! Great notes of flavor as you're hit with a consume that's just as rich and all paired super well with their green salsa! Definitely made a client out of me aside from those emergency stops at Home Depot! Very well thought out location and thanks home depot for having this business in front of your store! Love the location!

Picked up the quesdillia and took it back to the hospital room, my mom opened it up to eat it and it was filled with nothing but yellow cheese that had not even been throughly melted and shredded chicken with Jalopenos and bell peppers in it which was too spicy for her. The quesdilla was hard and oily. Who puts yellow cheese in a quesdillia and then doesn't bother to say we only have spicy shredded chicken? It was disgusting and a waste of $16. Staff was rude too.

And just as I was thinking that, daddy's coffee truck appeared. They were offering free drinks, which of course is the way to my heart (daddy's is very community-oriented and philanthropic so no surprise at their generosity). My only suggestions for improvement is some more logos on the side of the truck (there's just the one at the front) and perhaps using names to call out drinks (their taco truck uses buzzers which works super well too). Otherwise, thanks for this great addition to the coffee truck scene, daddy's!

I've seen the owner from time to time and is she is always friendly and accomodating. Her kids will be seen working at this location or Mae Anne in NW. I had to have a milanesa torta today, so I drove over from Wells to get one. We also ordered menudo and quesadillas for my kids. Service was friendly and prompt and food was delicious and hot. My only complaint is paying extra for milanesa and barely having any meat in my torta. Their prices have drastically increased since the last time my family and I dined in. The restaurant is usually fairly busy, but it wasn't at their dinner service tonight. (I'm not complaining about having the place to ourselves.) Another suggestion would be for your restrooms to be routinely deep cleaned and to be updated. I'll always be back and stay as long as it's not a full house.

My wife's regular taco was chicken and mine was chorizo. I enjoyed my chorizo taco also. The tacos came with both a green and red sauce, both of which were good. The red sauce had a slight kick to it. Overall the food and tacos were good. Simple menu. Lunch specials available. Complimentary chips and salsa - The salsa was thin, I prefer a thicker salsa. Not much quantity so we had to ask for more. They gave us a little more. Seemed kind of stingy. Ambiance - Decent size location. Not busy at all on a Friday prime dinner time. This should have been a sign... Table, booth, and bar seating. Limited mall parking in front, but no problem getting a good space. Your outside signage needs some repairs. Service - Just okay. I had to ask for everything; utensils, more chips, etc. The younger female employee was better than the older one. Price - $19; reasonable. Plus a more generous tip then earned... But I did NOT appreciate the hidden charges. 50¢ extra for chorizo. 3.5% credit card fee. If you disclosed it, it would NOT have made a difference, but nowhere on the menu nor did any employee mention these additional charges. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2018...?

However, nothing could have prepared us for the dinner that we had last night! My food looked amazing, and the waitress said it barely made out of the kitchen because the staff wanted to eat it on spot! Purposeful Pick Atmosphere: Warm, welcoming, and full of character. The open garage door creates a seamless indoor/outdoor space that opens onto a lovely patio. The only thing I'd change is that the music was just a bit too loud for my taste. It was very difficult to hold a conversation. Plant-Based Friendly: Their vegetarian burrito can easily be made vegan, making it a wonderful option for those looking for plant-based choices. Dog-Friendly: Their outdoor patio welcomes dogs, making it a great stop if you're out exploring with your four-legged companion. Service: The staff was absolutely phenomenal. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from the moment we walked in. The Food: I honestly wasn't expecting to be this impressed. The vegetarian burrito absolutely blew me away. With one simple modification, it can become vegan, and every bite was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The homemade chips and salsa were incredible too. This is easily one of the most memorable burritos I've had in a very long time, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. This is the third time and will obviously be the last time I waste my time. The first time was just a bit off with the timing and friendliness and the place was busy and pretty new. The last two times there is NO EXCUSE. A few months ago, pulled up to the drive thru and no one ever helped me at least 5 minutes of sitting there. There was one customer eating inside and no cars in the lot. A week ago, I decided maybe drive thru wasn't the best way so I went inside to order. I was inside the place waiting at the front counter for more than 6 minutes until I walked out of a completely customerless business, and I know why. There was at least one person working that I could see that never made any attempt to acknowledge me. Sorry NTG, I am not going to beg to get helped and I am sure if your employees think customers are too annoying to help, I am sure the food would have sucked too. I know this is't the nicest area to have a business but DO BETTER or relocate.
