Hubby & I love picking up Keng's To Go! The prices are very affordable & the food is very delicious. Very generous portions for the money. They have started to use plastic containers which I am not a fan of, I prefer the white paper to go boxes. Some of our favorites are the Cream Cheese Wontons, Chicken Chow Mein, Egg Rolls, Pork Fried Rice, and Sweet & Sour Pork, just to name a few. The food is always prepared super quick and doesn't take long, usually with no wait if you call ahead to order or place an order online. They do offer eat in service with tables but we always get it to go, as do most people. If you have never ordered from them just give it a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

Delicious and excellent portions for the price. Your classic hole-in-the-wall Chinese place. I always opt for takeout here over sitting and dining, the sit down area is fine but the food is what really shines. Beef and broccoli as well as mei gin are my two favs here! I always have leftovers for days. read more

I ordered the pork lo mein and the pork egg foo young and I threw it all the garbage it was AWFUL

I ordered the sesame chicken and it was delish! I also tried the egg rolls which were very tasty as well. They have definitely become my favorite Chinese food restaurant off of my first impression. read more

My sister told me about this place and at first it was great. I really like chicken lo mein and I have been noticing that when I have been getting it lately there will be a lot of chicken in the first 1/3 of the container and none in the bottom! The noodles are really good and tasty but I would like some chicken too! read more

Kengs has become my go-to for Chinese delivery and take out. One of the few places in the metro offering authentic pan fried noodles, their portions are generous. Other favorites of mine include their Singapore chow mei fun, general tso, pork wontons, and pork fried rice. Check them out! read more

I really enjoy this old school Chinese restaurant! The food and service are great. We've been eating their food here since 1993. Delicious!

I stopped in after a mobile order for a cheap lunch takeout. I ordered the $4.25 Roast Pork Chow Mein and 6 Wantons for $4.50 if you notice on the menu there's a few $4 "chow mein" options. Unfortunately they don't specify that it will be dried crispy packaged "chow mein" NOT actual noodles The roast pork had a very weird smell to it and had zero flavor. However, the wantons were decent enough. The service was good and the mobile order worked very smoothly. I'll be trying this spot again but this was a bummer overall for me. TLDR - Don't expect much from $4 chow mein read more

We had our order delivered so can't comment on the service. The food was very underwhelming. We got: - Cream cheese wontons were fine, not the best I've ever had. - Sweet and sour shrimp was also fine although a little too much breading left some raw parts - Beef Lo mein was really bad. The noodles aren't Lo mein noodles but thick like spaghetti. The sauce has almost no flavor. And the beef...gross. It was grey, tough, and flavorless. - Chicken chow mein was good read more

Kengs Chow Mein - Beef Lo mein - Chinese Near Me - Minneapolis, Minnesota

Good Food they have been around for years. Family owned can eat in or take out. Good service. Casual dress.

Delicious food and it is prepared quickly . Best egg foo young and chicken fried rice . It was ready for pick up when they said as well !

I ordered the chicken chow mein lunch special and was extremely impressed! The food was delicious and they have large portions for a great price! Amazing deal and service! Thank you! read more

Ordering was easy on their website. They delivered our food to our car and they wore face masks. The food was prepared well and delicious. Serving sizes are similar to other Chinese takeout. Pricing is very fair. I will order again. read more

Kengs Chow Mein - Beef Lomein, orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, fried and white rice, cream cheese wontons, and egg rolls. - Chinese Near Me - Minneapolis, Minnesota

Placed order online at 5:45 for a pickup at 6:30. Our order was completed at 5:58pm. WTF! Food was cold. most likely made way ahead of time. How can any restaurant make two fresh orders of food in less than 10 minutes? My moo goo gia pan was tasteless. Add soy sauce and still no flavor to the dish. Highly not recommended! read more

Unfortunately did not take pictures of the food, BUT, highly recommend take out from here. We had both the sesame chicken and the orange chicken with wontons. They send the chicken and the sauce in separate packages making sure it does not get soggy! Pro move!? We called and ordered, food was ready in 10 minutes. Hole in the wall restaurant, there are a couple booths to sit at but the store is very small. Overall, highly recommend their food! read more

This is the best chow main place I have found in 30 years!! It's old school chowmain for sure reminds me of HOMs which has been gone forever! I we had egg roll which were delicious orang chicken. Also fabulous chicken chow main was excellent and the fried rice I could eat every ! The women behind the counter couldn't have been nicer. I have not one negative thing to say about this place! I found my new chow-main place! read more

SMH I cannot understand the high reviews maybe folks aren't use to good food who knows..what I do know is tht the food was not appealing or worth the money I spent. I ordered beef fried rice and had two pieces of beef..just rice cooke with soy sauce and packed with onions..egg roll was bland .. read more

By far some of the BEST Chinese food I've ever had! And this place has been here for 63 years. We had egg rolls, steamed potstickers, house lo mein, and chow mein (Cantonese style is best!). Plus, they had mochi, too! My boyfriend is a respected chef, and he kept talking about the layers upon layers of flavors. I hate sweet n sour usually, but loved their version! We can't wait to come and try their ridiculously affordable lunch specials! read more

We ordered the mushroom chow mein, pork egg foo young, chicken lo mein, cream cheese wontons and egg rolls. The mushroom chow mein was very good and we will order from here again based on this item alone. The pork egg foo young was good not great, next time I would skip the pork as it was just pieces of pork put on top of a standard carton of egg foo young vs cooked into it however that said it had good flavor. The chicken lo mein was tasty and would order it again as were the cream cheese wontons. The eggrolls were very salty and not much meat would likely skip them next time. The only item I would drive out of my way for that we tried was the mushroom chow mein it is old school and tastes just like you would hope for from an old school place with chow mein in their name! read more

I have never been disappointed ordering from Kengs. Wontons are great and usually do sweet and sour chicken. Nom nom

Have driving past this place almost every day for the past 3 years. Finally gave it a try. Ordered the house fried rice (excellent) sweet and sour chicken (breading was great, deep fried to a nice crisp), egg rolls and cream cheese wontons (both very good) and had to try the chow mein (not too shabby). Only gripe is the very small styrofoam "plate". Will definitely come back and try other stuff off the menu. read more

My husband and I have ordered from Kengs several times now and love it! The food is very good (my Sweet and Sour Chicken was all white meat, a very generous portion and cooked so that the chicken remained moist) and flavorful. We also ordered egg rolls and potstickers...delicious. We'll be back again. read more

Very good Chow Mein and Cashew Chicken. Ample portions for both choices. Both very fresh with perfectly cooked vegetables. First time buying take out which only took about 10 minutes. I would definitely go back. read more

Good price and good food! We did curbside pick up and it was ready way faster than expected! Just forgot utensils and we ate it at a brewery. read more

They use paper bags and paper cartons for liquidy foods. It leaked in my car, on my shoes and pants, what a mess!! Food that was recovered was tasteless. Never going there again. read more

Worst Chinese food I've ever had! Pork fried rice had very little pork and too much soy sauce. Kung pow chicken had NO POW and very little flavor. read more

Whenever I'm back in Crystal visiting my parents, I have to grab some Keng's. Since I can remember, this hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant has been a favorite local stop for take out. Favorites: Sesame Chicken, Cream Cheese Wontons, Chow Mein, Beef and Broccoli....basically anything on the menu is good! Pricing: So affordable!! And you always get more than enough food. I end up with leftovers every time. Although you can eat-in, Keng's has very limited seating, so I wouldn't recommend a group larger than 4 or 5 coming here. Take out is fast, so I find that to be the best option. read more

This place has been here forever. My dad used to eat it as a kid. Back then, he said the food was phenomenal. Somewhere along the line, that changed. I've eaten here a handful of times over the years in hopes that I would find what he used to find. No such luck. The chow mein I had tonight was bland, very flavorless. Not even really a salty/soy flavor. Previous orders of wontons have very little cream cheese to the amount of dough, butterflied shrimp are mostly breading. Not crazy about the fried rice. I think I'll skip this from now on, even with the decent prices & friendly staff, I'd like food I actually want to eat. read more

I grew up in this area and have fond memories of classic Chow Mien, Egg Foo Young and Fried Rice. Ordered from them today and what a treat! Same as I remembered, great old school menu, hot crunchy egg rolls, Lo Mien, Chop Suey, Pot Stickers, all excellent! read more

Kengs really excels at personalized, friendly service. My teenage boys enjoy their potstickers, orange chicken, and Mongolian beef. And I love piecing together the components of their tasty chicken chow mein. To top it off, their prices are very reasonable. It's a favorite for my family. read more

Kengs Chow Mein - the inside of a box - Chinese Near Me - Minneapolis, Minnesota

Wow! Tried this place on a whim and am blown away. I got the steamed dumplings- which are amazing, beef and broccoli which is on point and delicious, and sweet and sour chicken...also awesome! It was super easy to order for pickup online, and they brought my food directly out to my car (due to covid) I would definitely recommend giving Keng's a try! read more

This is such a good spot to eat from! I have moved to Brooklyn Center from Minneapolis and I have to say this will be the only place I will get my food from! I loved the potstickers they were delicious! read more

The food here is super affordable and I think the quality matches the price point. All of our food was piping hot and exactly what we ordered. No gluten free or vegan options which is a bummer. Will stop there again as it has been really consistent. read more

Disgusting food, cannot believe they touch the food without gloves. Always charge more for same items. Don't recommend it to anyone at all.

I ordered chicken fried rice but they didn't even put any chicken in it and the rice was undercooked and dry .. Im mad as heck!!

Everyone has their favorite Chinese restaurant and Kengs is mine. I dream about the food at Kengs. I grew up eating their and it is like a second home. Everything on their menu is unbelievable good. Kengs portions are huge and you will bring home leftovers if you eat in. This is a great place for takeout too, they are extremely fast and everything is hot and fresh. My favorites are their chicken chow mein and the cream cheese wong tons. I love their sweet and sour sauce that comes with the wong tons and on the Sweet and Sour Chicken it's divine. I have had sweet and sour sauce at other places and they don't hold a candle to Kengs. The prices are beyond reasonable/affordable. The place is small but if you want to eat in, the staff/service is great. I highly recommend Kengs to everyone! read more

This place had many old school Chinese joint attributes that attracted me: the old style Pepsi menu board, the limited seating and old style booths. That and the fact that my gal pal ate this as a kid, and said it used to be good, gave me hope for the food. Also some of the stellar reviews here made me check it out. We ordered egg rolls, fried rice, egg foo young, Kung Pao Chicken, and a chicken dish I forget. Everything was the same color, same flavor, and generally sub par. No thanks. Truly some of the worst Chinese food I have experienced, and I have eaten at Lui's Chow Mein in Golden Valley when it was still a thing! This is probably fine to eat if you are either 7 years old, or seventy years old, but if you have a taste for things that......taste like something, and that are prepared with care, look elsewhere. read more

Gross food. The cream cheese wontons were pretty sad. We ordered Mongolian Beef and Sesame Chicken and couldn't figure out what we got. We actually thought we got the wrong order. If u want real Chinese food go to The Tea House in Dinkytown. read more

Ehh... my husband just loves their "old-fahioned" chow mein. To me,,it's all old-fashioned, inclduing the over-breaded, greasy sweet and sour chicken; the "gingery" fried rice; and the egg rolls an fried dim sum that all taste the sume. read more

I'm giving this restaurant a 4 star review because while the food is fantastic and I love eating there, sometimes the fried rice is off. Everything else is amazing though, especially the egg rolls. read more
