As a frequent Kelsey's customer, I was very excited to experience the Kelseys in Waterloo. The restaurant appeared to be clean and well kept. We sat at the bar and our bartender/server was prompt and very friendly. He even offered some great suggestions in what to do since we are from out of town. The one thing that stuck out to us is that the manager was actively walking around and ensuring that each and every customer was having a great experience. My partner and I both ordered wings - one order of honey garlic (breaded) and one order of medium (non-breaded) . Both orders were cooked and sauced perfectly. My rating is 3.5 stars. Kelsey's has upped its game these days. I love the food and seem to visit once a month. When I am in Waterloo, I tend to visit a particular Starbucks cafe often. Next to this cafe is Kelsey's. I decided to have lunch day on my final day in Waterloo before heading home. It was Thanksgiving Day. I walked in and was promptly greeted. It wasn't too busy. I got a booth and ended up watching a CFL football game between Montreal and Calgary during my meal. Nice! My server seemed friendly. However, she clearly didn't know the menu all that well. I ordered the salt and pepper wings, New York style, with ranch dressing. She questioned the New York style part until I pointed at it on the menu. I got my meal and it was delicious. I love wings that have the right crispiness, juiciness, and flavour. I was still eating when she plopped down the dessert menu. Okay...? After devouring my yummy wings and fresh veggies, I wanted dessert. I didn't want anything large. I went with the takeaway cookie, except that I wanted it at the table. She took my order and went away. She came back and said that it was just the cookie that I'd get getting. Yes, I know. That's what the menu sayid. She also said that it wouldn't be heated up. Okay, I didn't have that expectation in my head. Yes, I want the cookie still. I got it moments later. It was wrapped up in its own sleeve. It was so good. It's a large cookie that's a bit crispy on the outside, but so chewy and soft on the inside. It's worth the $1.99 price before taxes. I went to pay. She asked me about what I was doing this Thanksgiving Day, whether I had family in the area, and so on. Not to put a huge damper on her day, I answered. However, not all customers want to get that personal with a server that they rarely know. Just a tip to aspiring servers. Keep it simple. Go with general questions, such as, "Did you attend Octoberfest?" How about, "Do you like Waterloo?" Anyway, here's hoping that with experience, she will turn out to be a decent server. I had supper this evening at Kelsey's. I sat on the lounge side I'm a big fan of Chicken Parm and that's what I ordered. I got it the spaghetti with Alfredo sauce. It was good. The spaghetti wasn't overly saucy. The chicken was tender and juicy. There was lots of cheese. I'd get it again. Christine was my server. She was friendly and took good care of me. read more

Mobile order in, got the confirmation text when I checked in, and then nothing for half an hour. They had a technical glitch and it never showed. Then they tried to reheat it. Got home and the order wasn't even complete. Never ordering again. read more

I went to this location for a quick lunch and ordered chicken wrap with side salad. The food was delicious although it was too saucy. The service and everything else was good other than the smell of reused oil in the restaurant. My cloth takes the smell. This might be because we sat close to the kitchen door but anyway I don't like it. read more

Nothing wrong with food here....once you get it! Horrendous service. Stood at the the entrance for 5 minutes waiting to be seated and we were the only people there! Took another 15-20 minutes for our drink order be taken. Our appetizer (nachos) and meals were served within 2 minutes of one another so we had to choose which one was going to get cold. Zero refills on the drinks, and to top it off when we FINALLY got our bills they were screwed up. The only reason I give two stars is the food was tasty. We love coming here since they became Kelsey's Original Roadhouse, they really upped their game. First I always start with the two handed Cesar, it's always made to perfection, I normally get the chicken fajitas and I have yet to be disappointed. Service is usually always quick and friendly and would definitely recommend to anyone who hasn't gone to try it at once. read more

My husband and I were there for dinner on New Years Eve and I, being gluten intolerant I asked for a different menu. The menu is very hard to read as it is in very small font and it is broken down piece by piece. After first being told I could not replace the tortillas with extra lettuce with the chicken fajitas, I asked for any recommendations and she was not able to provide me with any options. I said of then bring me a burger, no bun and a beet and goat cheese salad. It took 45 min to receive my meal and almost an hour for our order to be taken. I received a salad with a handful of mixed greens, a couple of small beets chopped small and 2 large chunks of goat cheese, my burger came on a oversized plate with 2 very small patties. When the bill arrived I was charged $15.99 for my salad, and $16.99 for my burger. I asked what I was being charged for and she told me it was a build your own burger, I asked shouldn't that of came with a side for that price, she said I did not want one, I told her I was not asked if I wanted one and to remember I had a different menu than everyone else, how am I supposed to know it came with one. Which she then offered me bring me a side to go. At this point after waiting so long for our order to be taken and then received we were ready go. I was sitting there with my coat on! I will never go back to that location! The staff should be knowledgeable of the menu items and what people with allergies can and can't have! They overcharge for plain mediocre food! Can honestly say I had my worst dining experience here. It was horrible, every step of it. I even got a manager before paying and they didn't do anything at all. The only good thing about this meal were the potato skins( and I've still had better elsewhere) read more

We went there for half priced chicken wings on Thursdays along with fish & chips & a pulled pork sandwich. The wings were a good size & the pulled pork was enjoyed by the family member who ordered it. The fish & chips were pretty good perhaps a 7 out of 10. The fries were of decent quality & the fish portion was 2 very large pieces of cod. They were cooked ok but one piece got a bit rubbery near the end perhaps due to cooling down. Overall this was good experience for a first time visit. This is a typical bar type restaurant with a separate dining area for family. Waited 20 minutes before we were even acknowledged for our drink order. It then took another 20 for our drinks to even arrive. Very unorganized. I wouldn't recommend this location to my enemies. If you're looking for some good face-to-face time with your significant other, this is the place. Don't expect your food order anytime soon. read more
