The service from my regular Kelsey's location has gone downhill so I was a little skeptical coming here but I was immediately greeted and brought to a very friendly hostess. My waitress came by for my drink order and she was one of the sweetest humans ever. While waiting for my food, I noticed that this location had a lot of regular patrons and i thought that was very sweet and a great sign. I've been coming to Kelsey's for half-priced wings for 12 years. Twelve. That's longer than some relationships, longer than some careers, and honestly, longer than any sane person should commit to a weekly wing tradition--but here we are. Over that decade (plus a bit), I've stayed loyal. Big games, late nights, celebrations... Kelsey's wings were always the move. But today... today broke me a little. The wings have shrunk. Like drastically. I don't know who made this decision, but I felt it in my soul. These wings used to be glorious, full-sized, proper "this is why I come here" wings. Now? They're... tiny. I'm not saying they're nugget-sized, but let's just say if they get any smaller, I might need a magnifying glass. After 12 years of loyalty, this was honestly sad to see. I don't want to be dramatic (but I will be), because I am distraught. My go-to spot let me down. I'm hoping this is temporary or someone realizes customers notice. Because trust me--we do. Very nice place, I enjoy the food. I had the Greek wrap with souvlaki and a salad. Well prepared and very tasty.

My friend and I came in tonight at 9pm and sat down on the bar side (first booth on the right). When we sat down we had to wait 10 minutes before the waitress came to ask us what we wanted to drink. The only reason she came to check on us was because another waitress from another section said "have you checked on them yet". When the waitress came from behind the bar she said "oh sorry I didn't see you" even tho we were right in front of her. Anyways, we ordered our two drinks and our spinach dip and asked for the bread lightly toasted. When the dip came our bread was so burnt it was dark brown (wish I had taken a picture) we told the waitress it was to well done and asked for it lightly toasted. She took it back and we waited another 6 minutes. When the dip came again it wasn't cooked at all just the bread covered in oil. At this point we were very upset and felt awful having to send it back again. We had ordered chicken tenders as our main and by the time we had sent the dip back again the tenders had arrived. We ate the tenders and at this point the staff were visibly upset with us for sending it back twice now (dip). The waitresses were pointing at us and obviously taking about us. Two separate cooks had come out to see who the "two girls complaining were" and it was honestly humiliating and I was so uncomfortable. I just wanted to leave but we hadn't paid so we were forced to sit in awkwardness. At this point it had been another 15 minutes since sending the dip back and it was obviously a stament of them showing their frustrations with us. During this 15 min period we both witnessed staff eating extreme beans behind the bar with fingers in the jars, one staff chugging a corona in the back booth while on shift in her uniform, staff talking about us and laughing, kitchen staff laughing and speaking about us so loudly we could hear it. Finally after all of this one of the cooks (was in black cooks uniform) came out to us and said the bill was covered. I don't know why he would have covered our entire bill unless he was covering up for his rude and belligerent staff. I think it was his way of saying "hey don't tell on us" but I don't care this experience was utterly disgusting and I will be taking this complaint as far as I can. So after speaking to this cook about EVERYTHING that went on he told me the staff member who was actually the hosted for the night (low messy bun, septum piercing) that I witnessed chug a corona at the back booth was underage he kept saying over and over "I don't believe that, it must have been a Starbucks cup" I'm a 24 year old female with 20/20 vision I know what a corona looks like, what do I get out of lying? (I recorded the entire conversation secretly on my phone and the entire evening because I felt so uncomfortable) I'll be happy to show anyone. Finally there was a girl at the bar wearing a baggy gray sweater who had long blonde hair and was pretty short she was wearing black platform converse she overheard the conversation we were having with the cook and then as we were leaving she started to yell at us from across the bar trying to fight or something. I'm completely disgusted with what I witnessed tonight and I was ready to call the police because I felt so uncomfortable and unsafe. The staff were acting so confrontational and aggressive I was worried they would follow me out or follow me home. Underage staff drinking while on shift and on the floor and in uniform? Chugging a corona like it's water? Arguing with customers? Gossiping about customers in-front of them? Trying to start a fight with customers? Is this a family restaurant or a club downtown? read more

Kelsey's has been a staple for our family for many years now. The COVID pandemic has brought changes to the restaurant experience. i.e. difficult to staff as demand increases, perceptions of what should be expected regarding standards of service. Sadly, Kelsey's in Kanata seem to have relaxed too much, either because they can't provide service, or perceive that the public will accept any kind of service and attitude ON ACCOUNT OF the pressures of COVID. Our experience ordering online with a gift card was abysmal. The (pleasant-but-under-pressure) server on the telephone had no knowledge of how to pay with a gift card. She kindly asked the manager, who instructed her to tell me that he was very busy, and no one else knew the answer either. In other words, "I'm too occupied, go away." Feeling upset that I had paid $50 for a card that the restaurant refused to recognize, I insisted on waiting and the manager eventually came back on and answered my question. It required about 2 minutes of his time for a $50 purchase. Worse, to be denied service because their own system was confusing was infuriating. When I arrived to pick up the meal(s), no one answered the automated "I'm here" message for pickup. When I eventually went inside, a young lady pointed to a table at the far end of the restaurant where a paper bag sat. I picked it up and left while she watched me go. OK: 1. Refused service because establishment issues had priority over customers. 2. "Pick up" service means you practically need to walk into the kitchen to get your meal. 3. Anyone sensitive to COVID precautions would consider this approach defeated the concept of pick-up to maintain distancing. 4. and not really the fault of restaurant, but after considerable waiting outside, the meals were cold and soggy. Overall, a lesson that we should either eat inside or only pickup food meant for pickup. read more

Definitely recommend her to anyone coming to visit this location, she doesn't disappoint, her personality is absolutely amazing if you want a good laugh with some good food 10/10 would recommend having Aja as your server. read more

Now with a totally renovated interior and menu. No longer a Family restaurant, now the theme , menu and prices are upscale. But the food is not as good as it use to be. My error in ordering Ribs in a non-ribs place. They were over cooked and had a crust from being put under a broiler element in a oven. So, the crust was hot, the meat, not. The fries were luke warm, ugh! The alternative on the menu was burgers or deep fried chicken pieces. Very good service saved the event, so to speak. read more

I was here today as the Sushi restaurant we had originally picked for lunch was packed. The nice thing about Kelsey's is you're guaranteed a table no matter what time of day. I had the nachos with chicken and guacamole. The nachos were ok, but were kinda cold when they got to the table. The hair I found baked into the cheese was disappointing but hey, I guess that happens. Our server was super nice, but he took forever to bring the bill and when we asked for drink refills he didn't bring them until we asked again. Which was close to the end of our meal ( but we're grateful for the refills will we waited to pay). Over all Kelsey's is meh. read more

We got a gift card for a Cara restaurant for Christmas, so we decided to give Kelsey's a try again for an early Valentines Day dinner. Thank god we did, what an experience! First of all, so many changes! From staff uniform to the drink/dessert menu! Wow! I had the wings, my fav deep fried mars bar, and the spin dip. Faaaantastic! My boyfriend and I split a pint of Canadian, everything came in a timely manner. My faith in Kelsey's has been restored! I can't wait to go back! The only issue I have with Kelsey's is that they really change their menu.. Almost constantly. Items that I love are gone. They're replaced with delicious things, don't get me wrong but it's hard to get excited for something that probably won't be there in a month. I remember when they had the "lighter selections" part to their menu.. we went every weekend. All in all, a phenomenal Valentines Day dinner! My anniversary is coming up in March and you bet your behind we'll be going to Kelsey's Kanata!! read more

We decided to have a dinner at this Kelsey's location. We were seated very quickly and our server was prompt with our drink order. After ordering appetizers and our dinner, our appetizers promptly came out. I highly recommend the 4 cheese spinach dip to share. Our waitress was great in checking up on us however the kitchen was very slow. The restaurant was approximately 3/4 full yet we had to wait 40 minutes for our main dishes. Our waitress did update us however one thing that was never done was an apology for the wait. The wait was also blamed for a large party with 15 people. I found that absurd considering the restaurant was not busy. For a main dish I ordered the chicken Parmesan which included 2 generous pieces of breaded chicken and a very unsatisfying amount of pasta. Although the accompanying pasta was in an Alfredo sauce, I still found it lacking in flavour. My wife ordered the steak Guiness skillet and it came out barely warm despite being told earlier that our food was just being finished. For 6.99, children can choose from a grilled cheese sandwich, a mini cheeseburger, or chicken tenders. My niece got the grilled cheese which was not crispy and appeared to be pre-made and just microwaved. My nephew got the mini cheeseburger and lets say, mini was definitely precise in describing the size. My overall rating was heavily waited on the inconvenience of waiting 40 minutes for our main dishes to come out. Any family with young children can attest that children grow restless quickly waiting that long. To add insult to injury, the food was nothing spectacular after finally getting it. read more

My girlfriend and I have been meeting for supper for a few years now in the bar area while our husbands go the movies. Not only is the food excellent, the gentleman who always serves us is wonderful. Really Horrible Service..and Bad Food. We had the worst experience for dinner at this restaurant. We were a party of 5, including two elderly ladies. The waitress (with a knee brace) started off OK, but treated us terribly by the end. She made snide and rude remarks, was extremely slow, and was very unpleasant. As one example, my elderly Mother and I wanted to share the same sandwich dish we have had a number of times at this location (including in the past 2 weeks!). Each prior time, we were both given our own plate with half a sandwich and separate fries. This time, however, one plate came out with the full sandwich and one very small side of fries to share. I was expected to separate the sandwich and small order of fries, and then eat off of the smallest "dinner roll" plate that she put on the table. Seriously? When we asked about this awkward eating arrangement and past experience sharing the same plate, the waitress with the knee brace said "Well I guess in the past you got a good deal!" What an obnoxious and rude comment. We just looked at each other around the table in disbelief. And on top of that, the food quality was quite poor. Then the waitress made us wait for over 30 minutes after we were finished eating to pay the bill - in fact, she never brought the bill to our table in all that time. My husband had to get up and go find her so that we could pay and leave. This waitress should not be serving the public. She was so disrespectful and unprofessional. It was an awful experience. I will never return to this place, and will encourage anyone else not to bother. There are so many other better options nearby - Go to Montana's, Jack Astors, Crazy Horse, anywhere but here. read more

Kelseys new menu looked scrumptious. It was a great patio start but sadly that's where the triumph ended. Polite service but slow, 15 minutes to get a drink and there were only 3 tables going on the patio at the time. My dish was the holiday burger, the best part about it was the pretzel bun. I laughed because the menu specified "yes, real stuffing" which wasn't anything more than large croutons coated in something wet, maybe butter, rather chewy and inedible. The turkey burger was dry and loaded with sage. I love sage but this was overkill. Ah well you can't win em all but sadly my friends dining with me also had less than good meals. I used to love Kelseys but not sure I'll be back anytime soon. There are many restaurants in the area, I think I will try one of them instead next time. read more

At first, I loved Kelsey's. However, as of late, I'm beginning to change my tune. I have eaten there 4 times thus far, the last three being solo. Last night was the worst. I sat at the bar, and not once did either bartender indicate my presence until one of them took my drink order, approximately 5-10 minutes after I sat down. The particular wings I ordered (plain) were horrible. They graciously took that off my bill. I ordered the wonderful spinach dip to go, but at no time did anyone offer to refill my drink. However, the bartender seemed to have plenty of time to chat up the young lady sitting next to me. (I am also female). I might give this particular location of Kelsey's one more shot to redeem themselves, but then I'm done. read more

Went for a quick lunch. The service was great. The food is horrible for what you pay. Tried the korean steak salad and the chicken sesame salad. Both were drenched in way too much sugary dressing. The steak on the salad was very small, and although the flavor of the steak itself was 'ok', presentation was horrible. The wife and I always enjoy coming to Kelsey's at the centrum mall here in Kanata. To say we are regulars would be an understatement. The service is always first rate and the food is always good. This location can get busy due to it being located a km away from the Canadian Tire Center. Even with an event going on the service is fast and curtious. I would highly recommend this restaurant to any one looking to just unwind after a hard day at work. They have the best waitresses there, quick shout out to Kathleen's. read more
