Please don't advertise that you are open until 6 if you aren't. On multiple occasions I've come here around 4:30 and the young man (today in a Rugrats shirt) states that he can no longer make any food because he is cleaning up. Today we were just there at 4:30pm and he said he can't make anything again- because he is closing down. I would recommend advertising that you close at 4p, and schedule your team until 5pm to clean and shut down. Note: I've also noticed that it always seems to be when the young guy is working. After waiting a while to place our order even though there wasn't a line, I got a breakfast taco and my partner got a breakfast quesadilla. Could've been more flavorful. I'd recommend using cubed ham instead of sliced. I also recommend offering pico de gallo salsa to add a fresh element to both items. Maybe some green onions would be nice too. So this place is attached to the front face of Home Depot and it looks more like a taco truck then a deli. I ordered the tacos carne asada (beef) and they were really good. Now this is coming from someone who works in East Oakland and samples taco trucks and stands on a regular basis. I ordered three tacos and the tortillas were so filled with meat that I could barely finish them. So for the average person two would probably be sufficient. The meat was cooked perfectly. It was seared and crispy on the outside which I've never had before in a taco so it made the meat a little bit crunchy. Loved it. I had a choice of mild or spicy salsa. I do like spicy but I don't like too much so the lady assured me that it was not super spicy. It turned out to be perfect. Just enough bite to clear your sinuses. They were some of the best tacos I've had. Although labeled deli it's more like a taco stand with some additional items added. I recall the Home Depot in Colma, CA having a similar set up. I don't remember if it was the same name or not but they were also delicious. I haven't tried any of the other items yet but viewing the photographs of their foods the bacon cheeseburger and Philly Cheesesteak sandwich look delicious. This place isn't half bad. I wasn't expecting much from a little place in front of a Home Depot, but I was pleasantly surprised. I read the reviews before coming and planned my order. I saw that the breakfast burritos were a must, so I put that on the list along with a regular burrito and a Philly cheesesteak. I'll start with the best. The chorizo breakfast burrito was already made, so I decided to get it so I didn't have to wait as long. I didn't get to eat it until i got back home about 10 minutes later and that thing was still piping hot. It stayed hot the entire time I ate it. The chorizo was good and the overall size wasn't bad for a breakfast burrito. I could only imagine how good a fresh one would taste. The Philly cheesesteak was pretty good. I enjoyed how cheesy it was, but it seemed to lack a bit of flavor. I have to appreciate the cheesiness, though. Lastly, the burrito was okay. It wasn't anything special. It tasted pretty normal. If Kelly's Deli at the 2001 Chess drive Home Depot is closed, I'm not sure who made me this delicious italian sausage.The rumors of Kelly's Delis' death have been exaggerated. Sergio, the man behind the glass and grill says they don't close for more than 2 days out of the year. They aren't open late. Monday through Friday he's open from 6am till 5:30 pm. This isn't food I'd eat every day. It's food I eat on hard days because it cheers me up. Soft sauteed peppers and onions that you'd expect at a carnival or fair. He's got sodas, (my favorite Jarritos) all manor of energy dronks, muffiins cookies, pizza I think. well, everything. I really wanted to like this place because I work close and frequent this Home Depot. Last week, I was a little hungry and wanted sausage or similar salty meat. I ordered the hotlink, which I order almost any chance I get when there is one on the menu. Service was prompt and welcoming. But unfortunately, the hotlink itself left a lot to be desired. I should have been wary when it came out unusually fast. It tasted like a boiled sausage. No spiciness, no snap, no flavor, if I hadn't paid $5 for it, I would have thrown it away. Boiling it would be fine, but it would have benefited from spending 2 minutes on the hot grill top. At least the casing would have had a better texture. After eating it- I don't know if it was the filling, or the casing, or the right-out-of-the-package cold bun, but I felt ill. Yummy breakfast burrito -- I was told that the chorizo is the best meat for it. It's huge, freshly cooked, with pan-fried potatoes, egg, meat, sour cream and cheese. All of this just for around $5. It's a steal. The location is kind of weird though -- it's right in front of Home Depot in Foster City, so you really gotta know that you want it before you swing by it. Update: I had the chorizo and the sausage and am liking the chorizo better. Not saying that the sausage isn't though =p A couple of my friends got turkey and could barely taste it. Their breakfast burritos are awesome.. At one point I was coming here every day for a breakfast burrito. Sergio (works weekends, dude with glasses) makes the best burrito hands down.. The other guys are alright, but Sergio is the man. If you have 5-10 minutes to spare, ask for them to make you a fresh one, as they will usually grab you a pre-made one in the warming drawer however, I'll grab a pre-made one from Sergio since it's still exceptional. read more

It continues to baffle me as to why people are willing to stand in a massive line for lunch at Chipotle when this place is right across the parking lot. The super burrito here is bigger, better and cheaper with usually no one in line in front of you. If you're talking about food, this place is pretty good. I've had a variety of burritos, quesadillas, and tortas, and they are pretty tasty. The chicken is superior to the steak for the non-breakfast stuff, and all the breakfast fillings are pretty tasty. Their breakfast burrito really is quite good! But I can only go with 2 stars due to some poor customer service. I had an issue when being charged for a quesadilla. The board says 4.95, but I was charged 5.95. I asked the attendant what was up with the price difference, and he said "That is the price in the register". I didn't disagree with him, but I asked why the sign was different. He just kept repeating "That is what the register says". I understood that, but I just wanted him to act decent, and look at the sign, instead of repeating the same thing over and over. He thought maybe it was taxes, but I told him that taxes in San Mateo aren't 20% (even if they do feel high). He then abruptly said "What do you want me to do then?", and I no longer wanted to waste my time. There was no way to contact the manager. I left my phone number, but nobody called (unsurprisingly). Kelly's Deli is like a permanent food truck location outside of Home Depot. It's a real location, with a real building, with no wheels, but a hodgepodge of food options like a food truck. After reading some reviews on Yelp, I decided to order the only item that was consistently mentioned: the breakfast burrito. With my expectations minimal, the burrito was actually surprisingly decent. The tortilla was grilled and filled with shredded hash browns, eggs, hot sauce, cheese, sour cream and my choice of meat - chorizo. It was very flavorful and satisfying. I also tasted the same burrito with turkey, which had a minimal flavor impact. Chorizo is definitely the way to go. Best thing of all? It was under $5! For seating, there is only 1 picnic table for 6 people but hardly anyone actually sat to eat that I noticed. Other items included basic American and Mexican fare. Decided to try this place since I always see a lot of people there during lunch time. Looks like a food truck but its permanently part of HD. Was a little hard to find parking being that it was lunch time and there were a lot of construction/contractors parking or double parked. They have a good menu choice, breakfast, sandwiches, hot dogs, Mexican food (burrito, tacos, quesadilla), etc. I tried the steak super burrito. For $5.71 including tax I say not bad! It has a pretty good taste, really big in size and the only down side was the lack of a HOT salsa. The guy at the counter was nice. Seating is limited to 2 benches so I wouldn't recommend eating there. I would consider this an option to Chipotle since there is usually a very long line there. Went here after reading about it on Yelp!. Easy to find -- right at Home Depot. Parking not too bad. Unlike previous reviews, I didn't find the staff helpful or courteous. However, the reason I am a fan of the place is the food. I ordered a Quesadilla Combo with Chicken. I was told the combo came with chips and a drink. I got the drink -- but no chips. However, I realize I didn't even need them. The quesadilla is huge and SO TASTY! Awesome cheesy, slightly spicey, wonderful quesadilla. I'm an employee at the San Mateo Homedepot and honestly I have had nothing but issues with this location. I have bought lunch here on several occasions ,The first went without a hitch and the last two I received horrible service and was overcharged. The female employee that took my order was rude and seemed very upset when i asked for my employee discount. Even the person I was with was in shock with her reaction. I was going to write it off as she was having a bad day so I came back a few weeks later and I got this guy at the register. He said no problem for the discount then turned around and charged me full price for it. I asked to see the receipt he said he can't open the drawer. I came back when it wasn't as busy and he said I don't get a discount for the meal I chose. Right after he said he gave me the discount. I will never spend any of my hard earned cash again and will be calling their company owner and notifying them of their horrible staff at this location. On the other hand my husband and I at one point were remodeling our home ,so we use to go to the one in San Carlos on weekends. While we were buying supplies we would grab a quick bite to eat. I've never had an issue with their service or their employees and I've eaten at that location several times. read more

Well, my wife woke up craving breakfast burrito's befroe we headed off to the beach for the morning. I hadn't had a breakfast burrito in a while...and who am I to ever turn down a burrito of any kind. So, I serched Google for the best breakfast burrito in San Mateo and this place came up. Reviews were pretty much dead on. The burrito's are huge and at a reasonable price (5.95). The first time I went I got the chorizo. It was good, but it was a bit dry. I did, however, get it without salsa and sour cream. It wasn't very salty either. The second time after listening to my wife I got a sausage burrito with the sour cream and salsa...it was better for sure with a bit more salt and a bit more moist. There is only the one guy working there, so if there is a line of any kind it's going to take a little bit to get your food. I had two guys in front of me and it took me 15 minutes to get ours. They have a menu of other items such as burgers and sandwhiches that look really good. I'm going to try the chili cheeseburger maybe today. Overall this place is pretty good. read more
