4/13/24 Zach and I decided to try out Beach Hut Deli. It's very close to my apartment. If you need to find parking, they have parking in the back since there's little to no street parking. These are the sandwiches we ordered for pick up: - The High Tide sandwich - 6 inches - has jalapenos (his) - Regular Malibu sandwich - 6 inches (mine) After ordering on the Yelp app, they gave me a 15 minute pick up time. The price for those two sandwiches shocked me: $44.79 and I didn't even add tip since the sandwiches cost so much. When I went to go pick up the sandwiches, there was no one in there so I didn't understand why or how it would take 15 minutes to make those two sandwiches. Something else that shocked us was how small the sandwiches were. Don't get me wrong, they tasted pretty good, but we finished our sandwiches in less than 10 bites and we were still hungry afterwards. The sandwiches and salads here are delicious. I recommend the garlic cheeses sourdough bread toasted for whatever sandwich you choose. You won't be disappointed. I've eaten here at least 10 times over the past few years and the service has always been welcoming and fast. They have a variety of beers and beverages. We get our boxed lunches from Beach Hut Deli for work. While the atmosphere is super chill with the beach vibes and cozy booths, I can't say I'm that impressed with the salads and sandwiches. There's nothing wrong with it but it also doesn't impress me much. I'm surprised they're able to stay in business considering there's really nothing else around the area. They're also only open for a limited amount of hours per day (10am-3pm) It's a convenient spot with convenient online ordering and items are ready to be picked up in about 15 minutes. The service is also pretty friendly. Tried the Cabo and Mesa salads. You can customize salad base and dressing. While both salads are tasty, there isn't a lot of actual chicken so it's a pretty light meal. They give you A LOT OF DRESSING!! Enough for 3 salads. The Malibu sandwich is pretty popular -- comes hot in a standard sliced square homemade sandwich so the bread gets soggy pretty quickly. If you don't plan to eat this within 3 minutes, I would suggest you get this on a roll. The pastrami is quite salty, with a good amount of avocado and Italian dressing. You can add dirty bag of chips for extra kicks if you're feeling peckish. Price point is about $15 for most items. I wouldn't have thought to come here if it wasn't for work. Good for the convenience of being in the area. PS - the fact that you have to walk through "a wall of flying flies" in order to get to the entrance of Beach Hut Deli from the parking garage is a huge turn off. read more

What a cute little shop nestled in a cute little neighborhood. We were in the area and we're looking for a sandwich place and found this vibey deli. As we walked in, the island music reeled us in. Next, the decor is on point! We decided to order some beer to wash our sandwiches down. They have a wide selection of beers. Each booth has its own screen with a beach screen on it, disinfectant wipes and your own little area. I felt like we were in mini Hawaii. The service was also great. We had a chance to speak to the owner and his girlfriend. I loved everything about this place. The sandwiches did not disappoint either. They put cream cheese in their sandwiches and it really brings it to another level. I was hesitant about it first but the texture, flavor, and creaminess is all balanced. They offer 3 different sandwich sizes and all sizes come fully stuffed. I ordered a 6 inch and was full after only eating half. They have a variety of drinks and chips too. Service - the workers were genuinely nice, Ambiance - the vibe here is very fun. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. One thing that I loved about this place is that it was really clean and they had disinfecting wipes available at every table. I truly enjoy a place who cares about cleanliness. After driving by this lovely little deli a million times and wondering where to park, I spied a sign that said, "Parking in the rear of the building." Okay. So I drove around the building, first encountering Resident Parking. I kept going and found an entrance for Retail Parking. Once inside, I turned to the left and there it was, straight ahead - parking for Beach Hut Deli! I parked and walked out the glass doors that led me right to their entrance!! Now that I know how simple it is, I'll definitely be back. Let's get to the hours first. They're open Monday thru Saturday from 10-3pm. This information is just as important as knowing where to park. The menu is fun and packed full of yummy offerings. Although they don't carry corned beef, they have a pastrami that can even make a New Yorker happy. I know because I bought a pastrami sandwich for a New Yorker and he loved it. The owner is a hard-working, affable man that took the time to chat while working. The decor is fun and flirty, with lots of things to look at and sports on the TVs. There's a nice patio for a meal outside. The sandwiches are solid. I like the size and bread to filling ratio. We got the skinny dipper and Malibu, both were great but today Malibu edged out skinny dipper. The staff were super nice and accommodated needs before we asked. I don't really care for the tiki decor inside. The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. The cashier took the time to go over the more popular sandwich options as well as the drinks they have on tap! Additionally, they make sure the establishment is well cleaned and even provide wipes at the table if you'd like to sanitize your table before you sit down. Thoughtful! This place is different. They try to make it warm and inviting. They also have a bunch of table outside to sit and eat. It took a little time to park until I realized there's a parking lot in the back. Big plus! I got the tuna sandwich on French roll, a bag of chips and a bottled water. The total came out of $22 including tip. The veggies in the sandwich are super fresh, the tuna was meaty with not a lot of mayo filler at all and the portion sizes are pretty big. They have an area with a bunch of hot sauces as well. Each booth has a TV to watch sports and there are many TV screens around for different channels.
