The sandwiches and salads here are delicious. I recommend the garlic cheeses sourdough bread toasted for whatever sandwich you choose. You won't be disappointed. I've eaten here at least 10 times over the past few years and the service has always been welcoming and fast. They have a variety of beers and beverages. It's a great stop before or after a hike close by. I love the outdoor seating area. It's a great beach-ie vibe. Food is served on frisbees. Check it out. There's plenty of free parking under the building it's in.
Taylor, the owner, at beach hut was super kind during my stop in for lunch! He got my order out super quick and the sandwich was great! I can't wait to try something else next time I'm there.
We get our boxed lunches from Beach Hut Deli for work. While the atmosphere is super chill with the beach vibes and cozy booths, I can't say I'm that impressed with the salads and sandwiches. There's nothing wrong with it but it also doesn't impress me much. I'm surprised they're able to stay in business considering there's really nothing else around the area. They're also only open for a limited amount of hours per day (10am-3pm) It's a convenient spot with convenient online ordering and items are ready to be picked up in about 15 minutes. The service is also pretty friendly. Tried the Cabo and Mesa salads. You can customize salad base and dressing. While both salads are tasty, there isn't a lot of actual chicken so it's a pretty light meal. They give you A LOT OF DRESSING!! Enough for 3 salads. The Malibu sandwich is pretty popular -- comes hot in a standard sliced square homemade sandwich so the bread gets soggy pretty quickly. If you don't plan to eat this within 3 minutes, I would suggest you get this on a roll. The pastrami is quite salty, with a good amount of avocado and Italian dressing. You can add dirty bag of chips for extra kicks if you're feeling peckish. Price point is about $15 for most items. I wouldn't have thought to come here if it wasn't for work. Good for the convenience of being in the area. PS - the fact that you have to walk through "a wall of flying flies" in order to get to the entrance of Beach Hut Deli from the parking garage is a huge turn off.
What a cute little shop nestled in a cute little neighborhood. We were in the area and we're looking for a sandwich place and found this vibey deli. As we walked in, the island music reeled us in. Next, the decor is on point! We decided to order some beer to wash our sandwiches down. They have a wide selection of beers. Each booth has its own screen with a beach screen on it, disinfectant wipes and your own little area. I felt like we were in mini Hawaii. The service was also great. We had a chance to speak to the owner and his girlfriend. I loved everything about this place. The sandwiches did not disappoint either. It's been a while, so I don't remember the names of the sandwiches, but they were hot sandwiches.
I'Ve driven by this place plenty of times and was finally able to try it and I was impressed. Food - Sandwiches were good. They put cream cheese in their sandwiches and it really brings it to another level. I was hesitant about it first but the texture, flavor, and creaminess is all balanced. They offer 3 different sandwich sizes and all sizes come fully stuffed. I ordered a 6 inch and was full after only eating half. They have a variety of drinks and chips too. Service - the workers were genuinely nice, Ambiance - the vibe here is very fun. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. One thing that I loved about this place is that it was really clean and they had disinfecting wipes available at every table. I truly enjoy a place who cares about cleanliness. This place will be my new go-to sandwich spot.
I was immensely pleased by the stellar vibes in this storefront. It immediately felt like I was in a beach town despite being in the middle of city living. I had such a kind, informative service attendant while taking my order. The food was so good I devoured my sourdough sandwich within five minutes. It was so big that could have lasted for honestly two meals. I am currently feeding for two, so we both loved it!
The sandwiches are solid. I like the size and bread to filling ratio. We got the skinny dipper and Malibu, both were great but today Malibu edged out skinny dipper. The staff were super nice and accommodated needs before we asked. I don't really care for the tiki decor inside. Today was my first time there, and the inside oddly smelled like a Home Depot - earthy with a hint of tar. I like the shaded outdoor seating though! Parking is in rear with the condos/apts in the garage labeled Retail.
I always have a tough time committing to trying a new sandwich place since I feel like they're always so hit n miss. This place really exceeded my expectations! The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. The cashier took the time to go over the more popular sandwich options as well as the drinks they have on tap! Additionally, they make sure the establishment is well cleaned and even provide wipes at the table if you'd like to sanitize your table before you sit down. Thoughtful! Now, most importantly the sandwiches. I got the surfin bird with everything on it (staff suggested to have it warmed). WOW! Just a great balance of ingredients. The bread was super fresh. High quality deli meat. Just very impressed overall. Will definitely be back!
Overall: 8.8/10 Food: 9/10 Ambiance:8/10 Just a solid sandwich, nothing much more to say. A little smaller than I would have wanted but whatever, man. Great lunch spot go grab smthn.

I like the vibe of this deli, super chill and enjoyable to eat in. I only had the Mesa Salad there. It was spicy and very salty. The chicken was saltier than deli meat, way too salty for me. I like the freshness of the veggies though, fresher than typical supermarket salads. Portion is smaller than my expectations. I like that they have Humm probiotic kombucha, State Street rice krispy and cookies, and Dirty chips. Parking is in garage marked "Retail" in building behind the deli around the block. read more

4/13/24 Zach and I decided to try out Beach Hut Deli. It's very close to my apartment. If you need to find parking, they have parking in the back since there's little to no street parking. These are the sandwiches we ordered for pick up: - The High Tide sandwich - 6 inches - has jalapenos (his) - Regular Malibu sandwich - 6 inches (mine) After ordering on the Yelp app, they gave me a 15 minute pick up time. The price for those two sandwiches shocked me: $44.79 and I didn't even add tip since the sandwiches cost so much. When I went to go pick up the sandwiches, there was no one in there so I didn't understand why or how it would take 15 minutes to make those two sandwiches. Something else that shocked us was how small the sandwiches were. Don't get me wrong, they tasted pretty good, but we finished our sandwiches in less than 10 bites and we were still hungry afterwards. Honestly, we probably will not return since the sandwiches are so small and overpriced. read more

I called in a catering order for a party and talked to Silver. She was super helpful and easy to work with. The sandwiches were a hit at our party at a gym close by the deli, which is why we chose it in the first place. Would not mind getting their catering again! read more

Yeah homie. From doordash info, it clearly states "this merchant sets prices." Don't try to pretend doordash is hiking up your asinine prices. A 6" sandwich for $18 lol. Nah I'll pass. I realized why your ratings are so high, there are tons of fake reviews from new accounts that have only posted a five star review for YOUR franchise and nothing else. read more

Ruben sandwich with the toasted garlic bread was delicious. Woody sandwich was okay- bread:meat ratio could be better, bacon helped boost the flavor profile of the sandwich. Beers on draft at a good price. Great place to go on a Friday for a late lunch/early happy hour. Sports on the TV inside. Great service, friendly staff. Would go again next time with a couple homies, get a beer and split an XL sandwich! read more

Best sandwich spot in San Mateo. This is one of my fave go-tos in San Mateo. I always get the Righteous Reuben on garlic bread. They put the perfect amount of meat and sauerkraut so it doesn't get too soggy even if I get it delivered. They also have a great selection of beer and an outdoor area so it's great to hangout at esp on a warm day. read more

Fresh sandwiches, friendly people and comfortable environment! Most the the time sandwich deli spots are grab and go and if there are seats it's either cold inside and/or not the most comfy. This place is different. They try to make it warm and inviting. They also have a bunch of table outside to sit and eat. It took a little time to park until I realized there's a parking lot in the back. Big plus! I got the tuna sandwich on French roll, a bag of chips and a bottled water. The total came out of $22 including tip. The veggies in the sandwich are super fresh, the tuna was meaty with not a lot of mayo filler at all and the portion sizes are pretty big. They have an area with a bunch of hot sauces as well. Each booth has a TV to watch sports and there are many TV screens around for different channels. I'd recommend this place for a delicious sandwich on the go or for sitting and enjoying! read more

OH MAN, THIS PLACE KNOWS HOW TO MAKE A DAMN FINE SANDO !!! Location: First-time visit yesterday, had driven by several times before in the past, looks nondescript on the corner of Delaware St. & Concar Drive on the ground floor of a nice-looking apartment building. Where KMart and Michael's formerly were. Literally right off the Delaware exit from highway 92. Hours: 10:00 am - 3 pm 7 days a week. Parking: use the driveway on Delaware or Concat and enter the "Retail Garage." Free parking, a bit dark, there were plenty of spaces on a Sunday. There's a glass door which exits to the lobby of the apartment building and you exit another glass door to Beach Hut Deli immediately in your left - look for the bright yellow sun umbrellas at each outside table. Customer service: Excellent! The food was ready, everyone was friendly. See the photo w the sandwich wrapper: it says "XL North Shore 1/2" and has a Happy Face drawn on it! That's a first for me. Who the heck draws a happy face for the customer to see? A very happy employee, that's who! Food: we ordered the "North Shore" sando on a whole wheat roll. Generous amounts of pastrami, ham, turkey, Monterey Jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, and red onion. Either the pickles or the pepperoncini's gave a crisp tasty crunch. Mayo and light mustard were perfect. All the vegetables were fresh. I got the XL which comes sliced in half in two separate wrappers, just right for not eating like a pig. A total of 16 inches(!) of awesome goodness that I'm trying to savor by eating 4 inches at a time, w chips of course. Covid safety: everyone was complying w masking regulations. Each outdoor table had a package of sanitary wipes on it, something I haven't seen anywhere else do so I felt confident they're aware of good hygiene practices. I have no negatives about BHD, which I regret not patronizing earlier. I shall return soon!!' read more
