    Side of Potatoes with cheese
    Sophie F.

We stopped by this place for breakfast today, and I was surprised by how delicious it was! It definitely is a little unassuming, and the building and seating area are a bit dated. The staff were very friendly, and the menu was extensive. We decided on a full stack of buttermilk pancakes, a waffle, two sides of the potatoes with cheese, and the eggs Benedict. While the presentation was just average, the food tasted amazing! The pancakes might be some of the best I've ever had: so fluffy and light, yet still incredibly flavorful. Definitely add cheese to the potatoes, it was a game changer! The cheese was broiled, and both the cheese and the potatoes were crispy and flavorful. My sister loved the eggs Benedict and said the English muffin was fresh and soft. We will definitely be back next time we are on this side of the bay!

True diner. Competitive parking, nice seating. Food here comes FAST. My nephew and I ordered and the food came in less than 8 minutes. I'm like ya dude, I'm not your formal parents. Let's play on our phones, chat about video games then BOOM our food game. Waitress was very nice, humble smiles. All that stuff. Food here though I will say falls in line with above average places. It's Dennies ++ it's ihop ++ it's not at the caliber of Perry's in Sf and that's fine! My nephew got the Nutella crepe, mentioned it was short on neutella, i got the crab crepe which i thought was just fine, no disappointments. Adjust your opinions. I'm a San Diego local. Food there is shit. You come here at 10am, you get a tea, a coffee, and two entrees that are an 8/10 for less than $60 bucks? Can't loose there. Solid spot. Again. parking can be tough, we parked across the street and my nephew asked, dude, why are we crossing in a cross walk on el Camino real. Oh... he Bay Area policies.

Stacks food menu is large you will definitely have to make return visits . Our food was served hot and prepared fast and delicious. Portions are large my peeps so bring your appetite. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed 3 to 4 times before being seated so cool. Our waitress was super nice and accommodating. The vibe of the place reminded me of old school diner serving good ol fashion food hot and plentiful. Check this place out if your passing through it's definitely worth the stop. I apologize now because I started to eat my food before taking the pictures "hey I was hungry " . SYOYCVN

We've been coming here regularly for a few weeks now. Food is great and service is even better! The servers are very kind and accommodating, our pup always gets special treatment from Gerardo.

I came here on a dreary rainy day with a Groupon to use, and it was pretty full for a random weekday lunch. They have their own mini parking lot in the back, which was very convenient for these random Redwood City roads. Stacks is a bay area-based brunch restaurant with several locations around the bay, and open 7 days a week! Because of the egg crisis, there's a surcharge for menu items containing eggs. - Chicken Fried Steak The chicken fried steak patty was crusty and a little dry. Even with the house gravy that consisted of ground pork sausage and mushrooms (a rather thick and gloppy consistency), it needed more moisture. Taste-wise, it was fine. I do wish the gravy was more wet, and that it came with more scallions. It comes with potatoes, your choice of bread, and two eggs done in your preferred style. The way they cooked the sunny side up eggs was really odd; it looked more oven-baked than fried on a pan, and it was devoid of seasoning. The toast thankfully came toasted and buttered up well. I also liked the chopped up crispy potatoes that were like a hybrid of hash browns and house potatoes. - Seafood Benedict I wanted a benedict because I loved the way Stacks composes those plates - there's a ceramic skillet with the benedict, the potatoes, and a cup of fruit. The seafood benedict comes with crab meat, bay shrimp, baby spinach, swiss cheese, tomatoes, scallions, and bearnaise sauce oozing throughout the benedict. This made the benedict ultra creamy and eggy. The egg was delightfully runny. The seafood amount was ample, but I wasn't too fond of it because of a strong ocean taste. Yeah, the crab was real crab meat, but there was something about it that just made it taste more like ocean than the subtle sweetness of typical fresh crab. The shrimp was also tiny. I appreciated how there was more seafood than spinach in this mixture. The fruit cup it comes with is very small! I would recommend getting a different benedict flavor. It was an interesting experience and a good deal with the Groupon, as I don't typically enjoy brunch places. The plates are pretty big and filling, they have good options for plant based eaters, and it's a cozy place for some good old American brunch. I had half of my benedict plate as leftovers! With a lot of brunch competition in the bay area, it's hard to say whether something will bring me back here again especially with these prices (about $20 per plate).

Classic diner feel with tasty chicken fried steak and fries potatoes. There was an issue when we ordered a vegan burger with vegan cheese. They didn't write down the order correctly or there was some confusion because the burger came with dairy cheese instead. They tried to say we were wrong but then they checked the ticket and it had been entered incorrectly. Unfortunate, but they did remake the burger with vegan cheese. Nice that they have plant based options, but maybe they're not used to making them? The vibe was good, and they were pretty busy but had tables free on a Sunday at 1pm.

FYI the large mimosa is an entire bottle of champagne which the waitress won't tell you even if you're ordering for one person

We were prepared to split into two separate tables. The manager took it upon himself to offer a larger table that had a perfect view of a TV. It was so nice of him! We did order split plates (an extra charge) but the kitchen did serve them on split plates, which was nice. The burgers were super juicy and delicious. The fries were served hot and crispy. We did other appetizers of candied bacon which was disappointing. It just tasted like regular bacon. Not especially thick or sweet. That was the only disappointment of the visit. We also ordered the wings which were super delicious! We really enjoyed them. Our server Tanya was so friendly and accommodating. She was amazing. Overall a great experience.

We wanted papusas and Comalito came up with spectacular reviews and was open (at time of writing,…read morethey open Fri-Sun)! Food and service were great. Food ordered: Yucca fries on the house! 1. Plantano Fritas (4/5) I love a plantains and these were delicious and less oily than other which I appreciate! Personal preference is a I prefer a little more sweetly caramelized plantains, but I did really enjoy this. The dish comes with a white creamy sauce and a refried bean dip - both yummy and not overpowering in flavor. Papusas: Lots of flavors to choose from! And in general, for all the papusas, the papusa batter is wonderful and the porportion of filling to papusa is perfect. 2a. Calabaza Papusa - mixed cheese + zuchinni (4/5) This was the most cheesey papusa, where the cheese was the heavy lifter. I enjoyed it and every bite had a nice cheese pull too it. I would have liked to see a little more zucchini green, and for it to add to the textures. 2b. Frijol y Queso Papusa - mixed cheese + refried beans (5/5) My favorite! Can't go wrong with a bean and cheese papusa and this was so so good. I recommend this classic pairing of flavors anywhere. I was thinking about this papusa for days. 2c. Chicken Papusa - mixed cheese + chicken (5/5) This was also really good. the chicken is mixed in with the cheese, so every bite has both, which was nice. There was also a lovely seasoning which balanced all the flavors beautifully. 3. Churros: This usually comes with vanilla ice cream, and the server warned us they didn't have any in stock. We were fine with that because we love churros. When we were complete with our papusas, they served us our churros and surprised with apple slices instead of ice cream which was a lovely touch. Parking: There is no designated parking lot that we have found, but the public 2 hour parking lot 2 blocks over on Second Ave! Overall, we really enjoyed our experience at Comalito. The hardest hurdle is parking, but once you find the public parking lot a couple of blocks over, it was easy to find and gives you a little exercise before you eat! Papusas were all delicious and there is a plenty of seating room. Keep in mind they are open Friday-Sunday only at time of writing.

They're made of thick tortillas cut into strips that are crunchy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside served with bean dip. The yuca fries were good but I wasn't a fan of the chipotle dip. It went well better with the house bean dip. The platanos were ripe and soft. I prefer them a little less ripe but they were still tasty. The pupusas are small they suggest 2-3 per person for a reason. I got chicharon con queso. They were flavorful but they weren't close to the best pupusas I've tried elsewhere. Overall a good spot if you're in the mood for Salvadorean food. The service was average out drinks took a long time and came after the food arrived. The place itself is nice and clean.

One word of warning: arrive with an empty bladder and a working relationship with patience, because the restroom line moves like it is being reviewed by a committee. Das Bierhauz is located right next to the VTA and Caltrain station, which makes it a very practical stop before heading to a game at Levi's Stadium. There is shaded outdoor seating and indoor seating, but this place fills up fast. Do not show up late and expect the universe to hand you a table. The universe has other appointments. The beer selection is very good. We got there around 6 PM before the Austria vs. Jordan World Cup match, and the stouts were already sold out. That tells you two things: people know what they are doing here, and you may need to move with purpose. Order the huge 20 oz glass if you want to have fun. It is not subtle. It announces itself. Food-wise, the combination appetizer is a strong move for a group of three or four. It comes with hummus, crushed eggplant, olives, a cucumber-yogurt-style dip, and other Mediterranean support staff. For the main dish, I recommend the veal knockwurst with fries. It was simple, filling, and did its job without trying to explain itself. The ordering system is where things get a little loose. Seating is basically self-directed, which means the bold inherit the tables. The line to order can feel scattered, although the menu is clearly posted above the cashier. You order, pay, receive one of those coaster number things, then sit down and trust that civilization will continue. To their credit, the staff found us with the beer and food without incident. There were TVs everywhere showing Argentina vs. Algeria, and with the international crowd in the room, the energy was like getting electrocuted by friendly aliens experimenting on how to make adrenaline surges in the body lightning fast. Loud, lively, and just the right amount of chaotic. Overall, I would give Das Bierhauz a 4 out of 5. I would not want to be here when it is absolutely packed, mostly because the queue system could become chaotic like a school of fish in a class on how to properly get into an auto accident. That said, the staff were reliable, the food was good, the beer was strong, and the location is hard to beat before a game.
