Now there's two clueless women there working the front. I asked for advice on which paint I should use on an exterior door... after a lot of uhmmms and uhhhhs they sold a not self leveling paint.. It took them a LONG time to mix paint which worried me they screwed something up... and then they told me they were completely out of stock on a type of paint I needed except one gallon and asked if I wanted them to order more since I needed more. I told them no and asked them to check the Copperas Cove location to see if they had any. They said Copperas Cove was completely out as well. Well I had such a negative experience I called Copperas Cove myself, they told me they have several gallons in stock. Not going back.

On top of all that when I arrived to pick up my paint the staff was talking about how she was in jail! It always causes a headache dealing with this store and I am finally fed up. I'd rather spend the extra gas than to deal with constant re-work and crappy attitude of the Cove store.

I've used rattle cans that are years old without any problem. They pointed to their policies on the bottom left of the invoice in mice type that was about half the size of common mice type telling me to forget returning anything over 30 days old. I'd have to use a magnifying glass to be able to read it. Anyways the two cans cost a total of $90 so I was not pleased.

I dont know what happened. I am getting ready to sell my house, need some last minute touchup paint. Brought my paint can tops in for them to match and not one single color marched at all. Four out of five they said they could march (not even close) and one they said they couldnt do ( a white basic flat ceiling paint, mind you). I dont know if it was because the young man behind the desk had no clue what he was doing because the store manager had literally mixed some exterior a-100 for me the week before and it was perfect. Whatever. I spent 100 bucks on four quarts and nothing matched. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. Never ever had this experience at SW. Unfortunately, got the paint mixed sat, had to paint Sat night, they are closed Sun and I had to fly out Monday night. They left me scrambling. I went to Home Depot, begging a 19 yo girl to help me match perfectly. She did it until she got it right. Took her time and saved my butt. So if you need paint that's interior, go to Home Depot. And dont let the young guy at SW mix your paint--it will be very wrong. Wish I had time to stop in and talk to the manager, but my schedule was too tight (thanks to SW).

After visiting three other paint stores and not finding helpful advice or the right stain products I needed to get started, I was thrilled to find Rooster's Paint tucked away on 620. John was honest and helpful and set me up with some great products to stain and seal my front door. He also told me about a paint option, in case I didn't like the results. His advice was accurate and helpful, and not in the least condescending about my taking on a new (to me) and challenging project. While their prices are a little higher than the big box stores, the product quality and the expert advice makes it a worthwhile expenditure. They carry Old Masters stain, Benjamin Moore paints, and many other quality products in that small red building on 620. They aren't hawking a store brand, and these guys have experience using the products they carry. I took back almost everything I'd bought from other stores, and the results I got refinishing my front door prove that I made the right choice. Sanded, stained and sealed at a fraction of the cost of what a pro would charge, and contractors and neighbors keep telling me how great it looks. Will definitely be back when I get ready to tackle the cabinets and walls.

It's easy to overspend (if you're on a budget) because you see things you didn't intent to get but you do because you can't beat the prices. Try not to take your kids because they'll be worse than you when it comes to picking one or two things. The store wasn't the cleanest BUT my expectations weren't high for that. The cashiers were nice and the people working the aisles were helpful.
