I interviewed 4 other roofing companies before I found Keith Roofing. They came recommended by some folks on Next Door. I had a very old skylight than was leaking and needed to be replaced. Every other contractor gave me one option, even though I clearly told each of them I wanted to hear several options and what the differences were. Hugh came to my house and treated me with respect. He took photos of the roof and the skylight. He sat down with me to discuss the skylight options and provided two recommendations. He said he had the skylight lights on hand and could do the work immediately. Thus, I hired Keith Roofing. A major storm came through on Halloween, and the skylight performed well. Keith Roofing is great! Very professional and knowledgeable when it comes to roofing problems. They specialize in old homes in the Capitol Hill/Georgetown area. After renovating our home a couple years back we had new windows installed in the brick frame. Recently we've had mold accumulate above a doorway on top of which there is a green roof and a window. While we thought the problem was from faulty caulking where the green roof sits, the rep from Keith Roofing instantly pointed out that it was quite common for windows in these old houses to leak! He took it upon himself to caulk both the green roof and the window FOR FREE as a favor. We are sure to be using Keith Roofing in the future! I'm not in the habit of writing reviews, but Keith Roofing certainly deserves an A+ for the work they performed. The owner of the company, Hugh Keith, was patient from the start. All questions were answered with detail and with plenty of explanatory pictures. Hugh provided us with different options and led us through each one. The work was solidly performed with attention to detail. Hugh, who was on-site throughout, kept us up-to-date on the project with more pictures. He was always available for conversation. Cost-wise the quote was very reasonable. We were impressed that with additional items that were significant and not present in the original budget, Hugh simply included without additional charge. After a long drawn out saga with another roofer who failed to do the job, I turned to Keith Roofing. A co-worker recommended him, and found Hugh to be incredibly receptive to my numerous questions about roofing material, warranty, and labor. His price was very competitive and his responsiveness throughout the process was a breath of fresh air. He was able to complete the job in 1 day, with his team very mindful of the surrounding garden and hardscaping. Additionally his team observed numerous COVID-19 safety protocols, giving me peace of mind he knows what he's doing. Hugh came back the following day to do some last minute finishing items, made sure to clean extensively all areas his team worked and took multiple before/after photos and even did a walk through on the roof. Our flat roof project began with an initial assessment and estimate that included preliminary photos and a description of the how and why of the work to be done. Hugh is an exceptional communicator and I really appreciated his fair assessments and explanations of his work. He went the extra mile to earn our trust. Next, we were promptly scheduled for a few days later. Once underway, the work was completed in a timely and professional manner. Keith is the most prompt, transparent, and professional roofer in the business. When I had a leak he was at my house the next day. After 30 minutes of inspecting he returned to his truck. I wondered what he was doing. He was printing pictures of my roof and annotating them. He then presented me with two quotes. A "fix" and a complete re-roofing. Keith Roofing literally saved me about a year ago when in the middle of winter, my roof was leaking and desperately needed to be replaced. I had about 5 companies come out to give quotes but Keith Jr. got up there quickly, took pictures to show me what the issues were and guaranteed that no matter what was found, they would make it right. They also only worked in DC and specialized in flat roofs so they felt like the right choice. I signed with them and am incredibly glad I did. Upon them stripping my old roof, I learned that the flipper I purchased my home from did shotty work and instead of replacing my old roof, just added an additional layer. The Keith Roofing team had to remove 4 layers of roof, as well as replace numerous wood boards that were rotted away. It was an incredibly big job but Keith Sr., Jr. & the team stayed all day, and updated me throughout. By the time everything was complete, I had numerous pictures of the entire process, start to finish and knew I made the right choice. Overall, a really scary time was solved quickly and by the best people for the job. Not to mention, a year later, my neighbor's old cable antenna broke, fell onto my roof and was hanging off of the back -- ready to fall. I did not feel comfortable trying to handle this myself so I called Keith Jr. and he sent someone over to pull it down and tear it apart for me the next day. I found Keith Roofing in 2013 through Angie's List (back when it was subscription-based). Having just purchased a Capitol Hill row house that had a pre-World War II roof, we knew we needed someone to replace the roof. Neither my husband nor I will work with service providers who are unresponsive or who have questionable reviews. We contacted Keith Roofing and found Hugh to be straightforward, knowledgeable, and thorough in answering our questions. He took photos of the existing roof so he could explain what his team would be doing. Once we hired him, scheduling and time to complete were great. He shared photos of the new roof (since we weren't going to go up there). Price-wise, I don't imagine they are the cheapest, but we're dealing with the roof over our head. Not someplace where I want to skimp. The prices were reasonable compared to other estimates we received. Fast forward to 2017. We have had no issues whatsoever. In talking to a realtor, we were told that warranties transfer, so I looked back at the roofing contract. It had a labor warranty from Keith Roofing and a manufacturer's warranty from Firestone. The contract was faded and not entirely readable, so I contacted Hugh to ask for a better copy or a warranty certificate. I received it THE SAME DAY. We're talking pizza delivery kind of time. When I saw that Yelp had no reviews for this business, I had to write one. These guys are on point. read more

When I first called, they said they were booked for the next 7 days but when I told them where I was located, they said they could stop by sooner because they would be nearby.
