Andi was not the manager we spoke to that day, but Emma. Bandy got my ResortPass account restricted after we complained about the service. ResortPass still gave us the refund for $235. According to CA law, as a consumer, we're allowed to leave an HONEST, negative, review without retaliation. We have documentation etc to back it up. That's why we were extremely disappointed to purchase a flat of eggs directly from the farm on 9/11, only to learn afterward that Happy Hens had issued a voluntary Salmonella recall on 9/8. CDPH specifically states that recalled eggs were available for purchase directly at the Ramona farm. My understanding is that the FDA found Salmonella Enteritidis in 2 of the farm's 7 hen houses, and whole-genome sequencing showed that the Salmonella matched the strain found in sick individuals. As of September 8, there were 23 reported illnesses and 7 hospitalizations. We are reasonable people and understand that investigations happen and that things can go wrong. What we cannot understand is being allowed to purchase a flat of eggs after a voluntary recall had already been issued, without anyone saying a word. They were happy to take our money. Had we known, we obviously would not have purchased the eggs at this time. After years of intentionally supporting this business, we feel completely blindsided. This has seriously shaken our trust. Very disappointing.

An hour later around 10am was when it started to get busy. It's a smaller patch so a couple hours is doable if you have small kiddos. There's a barn to buy your pumpkins, a corn maze ($5pp), corn blaster ($1 per shot), petting zoo (free), and some small booths of food and small trinkets. Our group had a lot of fun for the 2 hours we were there. There is a huge rock display where the kids climb and great photo ops. This patch was quite a distance from Mira Mesa (40-45 mins) but since we left early in the morning, there was no traffic and ample parking. Parking is free and lots available.

You can feel how much she genuinely cares about every child and parent who comes through. She made everything feel so thoughtful, intentional, and special for the kids. Every little detail felt considered, and it created such a warm, welcoming environment. All of the animals are clearly so loved and well cared for, which made the experience even more meaningful. You can tell this isn't just something she runs, it's something she pours her heart into. The next day, she hosted my group of friends and it was just as incredible. We all had the best time and made the sweetest memories with our babies. It was one of those experiences you wish you could bottle up and relive. We will absolutely be coming back again and again. The owners were both on the call. I asked if I could possibly join to have her safely enjoy the time and was told no because they can't explain to the other kids why my child has her parent there and they don't. I asked if she is really comparing a special needs child to a fully abled one and they didn't seem to understand the opportunity to share how to be inclusive and supportive of kids who need a little extra help. I'm not sure it's exactly like riding a bike--but Karen made me feel completely at ease from the start. Kiwi, my horse, was incredibly patient and gentle with me. I swear she knew I needed a little extra TLC! It made the whole experience so enjoyable and stress-free. I even got to do a tiny bit of trotting, which was such a fun bonus. Overall, it was such a great experience, and I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking to try horseback riding or get back into it!

She has a natural talent with horses and has elevated my riding beyond what I thought possible. I started off taking lessons with a lease horse most of the past year. The experience was so educational and really helped get my confidence back. Recently with Jen's help I purchased a 3 year old thoroughbred and have him currently in training with Jen. The experience has been so rewarding and he is progressing so nicely, I couldn't be happier! My two horses (20 year old and 3 year old thoroughbreds) are so happy at CJ Ranch. They enjoy the activity around the barn and all the familiar faces that stop by and say hi. I travel often for work and its so nice to not have to worry about my horses while I am gone because I know that Jen and the rest of the CJ Ranches team are taking good care of them. The most Rockwood Ranch was purchased and added into the property in 2006, and the Rockwood farmhouse which was built in the 1890's is now the Rancho Guejito Vineyard tasting room! Because of the size of this property, they have the space to having amazing events! Check out their calendar for event details, but they do have a lot of events for kids as well as some street faire type events. I ama not certain if they always have live music, but the times that we have been here, they have had great live music playing. They have a great selection of wines (the sweet ones for me and the not sweet ones for my wife) as well as delightful Sangria's and wind slushies. The food was actually really good here too! They have Cheeseburgers, Bratwurst, Hotdog, veggie burgers, nachos, Bavarian pretzels, charcuterie box, churros. They also had sliders when we were there, and we opted to share sliders, charcuterie box and a Bavarian pretzel. The pretzel was massive and delicious, 100% would order again. The sliders were cooked perfectly and are made from beef raised on the property where they maintain a herd of over 2000 cows! You can also purchase a Box of their 100% grass fed on open pastures beef to take home for your freezer and cook at your leisure. This is an amazing place, always a lot of fun!
