Chipotle chicken with mango, black beans, salad and peppers.
    Francesca P.

Came here for a post workout meal with Erika D and must say I really liked the place! It was empty when we arrived but it was pretty late on a Tuesday night and the restaurant is a bit out of the main streets. The waiter was really friendly and the place is super clean and tidy inside. Nice atmosphere. I really liked the menu and had difficulty choosing what I wanted to eat. Had a good variety of dishes from lighter salads to burgers and pizzas. All the macros are listed so great way to help make a choice if watching daily calories and macros. We both opted for the chipotle chicken salad and it was so tasty!! Was surprisingly filling but not too heavy that felt majorly stuffed afterwards. Salad had a delicious mango dressing and was very fresh. We also had a side of sweet potato wedges which were so tasty. Definitely going to come back here and try all the other amazing dishes. I've got my eye on the burger next time! Good price too. Was under a tenner each as they give you 25% off when check into Yelp which is a bonus!

It is so hard to find a place where you can get healthy but tasty food, so a new addition to the list is always nice. The staff is amazingly friendly and kind, I must say. Every time I was here, I really felt that my opinion matters, one of these times I even got a small questionnaire so I can share my thoughts with them. The menu is really well curated and diverse, so I tried several things already. Their breakfast toasts are amazing, the salads are fresh and rich in ingredients, the smoothies and shakes are really tasty. My absolute favourite is the Espressoats, which only lacks the 'Designed for Bori A' tag from it - I mean, it is healthy and delicious and it even has caffeine in it, what else could I hope for? I also love the idea that water is also flavoured with some berries or cucumber or such. I think it's a great addition, absolutely matching the image of the place. I need to admit I had less lucky choices as well, the Protein Macaroni Cheese did not become my favourite for instance, I just had the feeling poor mac was seasoned with protein powder directly. But that that was only one item on a pretty impressive list of different foods I tried, so I won't complain much about it. If anyone is seriously into monitoring their nutrition: in addition to mentioning main macro nutrients and the calorie intake on the menu, everything is available in MyFitnessPal as well, which may help for people interested in such things (at the moment I need to be, because the scale is accusing me of a horrible weight gain in the past year, so I need to be watching.) Not only have I been here three times already, I also know that I will return, and I promise that I will update this review sooner or later. My overall rating is neither a perfect five nor an absolute four - however I am tending towards the better score for now, and will decide in a few months whether I was right or wrong.

Great place to hang out and enjoy some tasty late-night bites. We've enjoyed several lavash wraps…read moreincluding the chicken, cheese, and Jalapeno with Cajun chicken, cheddar cheese with sliced jalapenos and baby gem lettuce, Southern fried chicken with Maxi's hot sauce, peppers, onions and baby gem lettuce and finally the Halloumi Reuben with baby gem lettuce, crispy O's, pickles, mustard and tomato sauce. The wraps are well constructed and bites of flavor. The fajitas are also well executed and thoughtfully presented. The menu is a bit out there, but accessible to the open-minded.

I can only review as a bar as I ain't eaten here…read more.. As a bar it is decent, seems a bit rough about the edges in a dive bar type of way, but the clientele usually are ok and the atmosphere always seems pleasant enough. It's got a lot going on, In that there is a club down stairs, food is served upstairs and there is also a lot of focus on it just being a pub. I've been a good few times and it's usually mobbed. I think that's partly because there ain't any other decent pubs on queen street (that I can think of) and it means everyone heads here. In other areas it might not be my first destination, but where it is it ranks quite highly amongst the places I would stop for a pint if passing. Sometimes it even has some unusual bottles of craft beer hidden in the fridges which is always a good thing. Could be a three on anther street, but a better option on queen street, so I will go with a positive 4 stars.

Easter Saturday came and things brightened up with a very late lunch at HBC. Good choice of menu…read moreand we all had the usual sort of thing burgers, Denver chips, Caesar salad washed down with a Peroni, glass of Sauvignon Blanc and never-ending Coca-Cola The food was really good; £47 for 3 Price was ok, buzzy place, friendly Two things prevent a better score First, if I've got to go through the menu, talk to a waiter about choices, I don't really want to then get up, leave the table and friends etc and join a (how long?) queue at the counter to order and pay. Even more irritating when you have to do it again for the coffees...presumably every course. Sorry don't need that so no return visit Secondly, I've seen better carpets in the Dog & Duck in Wapping (apologies if there is such a place). It was disgusting. Your feet don't just stick to the "carpet" they sink into the mire. Dreadful. Sort it out, really!

Dear Chris (owner of Handmade Burger Co),…read more Ancient proverbs tell us that it is a brave man who puts his personal email address and phone number on every table in his restaurant. It is an even braver man who does it when the restaurant isn't very good. I've always been a firm believer in keeping things simple. Seat me, take my order, bring me a goddamn delicious burger, et voila - you have a happy customer. What I don't want is to get up from my table, cross the restaurant and stand in a queue to place my order. Where did you come up with that idea? Is it really more efficient than getting your more than capable staff to just do table service? I mean, really, it's a gimmick and I hate it. Your menu is vast, and as a veggie i'm not used to being given such choice, so I salute you for that. That doesn't, however, absolve you of your sins. Most burgers are £8/£9 and, of course, don't come with chips, which set me back another £3.50. £2.35 extra got me three small dipping sauces, and you threw in a "side" of one gherkin cut into slices for another £1.65. Oh, and when I ordered a £2.70 diet coke the smiley man behind the till handed me an empty glass and told me that the self-service machine was just "over there". The point i'm trying to make, Chris, is that this is nonsense. Why should I memorise my entire table's order, get out of my seat and stand for 10 minutes behind four other diners when you have a restaurant full of perfectly good staff? Is it because I should be delighted and in awe at you're persistent reminders that every burger is made fresh and by hand? Because that really is the least I expect for an £8 burger. What next? Am I mean't to be applauding you because you don't water down the coke? To be fair, the burger was quite nice. More than quite nice, it was good. But you know there's something wrong when you're sat in a gourmet burger restaurant and you can see two more through the window. I love Glasgow city centre, and I think that it deserves better than yet another gimmicky burger restaurant which charges crazy amounts for very average food. And that's what you are, Chris - very average. I'm sorry. It's not you, it's me. I just don't think we're right for each other. I deserve better, Hannah (hater of nonsense)
