I've been meaning to try Nic's NYC for a while, and this branch in Hope Street is very handy on my way to work.
Theres a huge amount to choose from on the menu - all pretty hearty stuff and the fresh counter with tattie scones, and lots of different fillings would make it hard to choose what you want on your sandwich/ baguette/bagel or ciabatta. Other delicacies include gourmet hot dogs (although sadly no veggie option), wraps and taco bowls.
However, despite these yummy options, on this occasion I was in for something sweet and although the waffles and pancakes sounded good, its hard to resist some donuts- especially when they have their own menu!
It was my wee mums birthday so I opted to get a few to takeaway. Chocolate orange, salted caramel fondants with fun hungry hippos, oreo chocolate, m&ms, strawberry ... the list goes on, and they also do a new surprise donut each week!
I can't resist salted caramel these days, and you can never go wrong with chocolate, so a salted caramel apple and chocolate fondant were swiftly purchased (£1.49 each).
The staff were smiley and efficient which I suspect they need to be at peak lunch times.
Saving the donuts all day was a tough shout but well worth the wait. Soft and fluffy, these were good donuts and surprisingly light to eat despite the luxurious toppings. Mmmm - yum!
I noticed they also sell donuts in large boxes, customised to order and I'll def keep it in mind the next time I want something different for a gift.
I'm also looking forward to trying one of the savoury options, and hopefully will pay a visit during a lunch break soon! read more
